Thank you for taking the time to complete a review. I am sorry to hear that you feel the rooms are dated and that you have experienced poor communication whilst your mother has been in the home. The home is currently being supported daily whilst a new manager is recruited. At this time the home is developing a monthly newsletter for residents & families that include involvement in daily activities, the home has activities boards that display events & activities in the home. Residents with restricted mobility are assessed by the NHS Physio and Occ Health Team to review if a wheelchair is required, this would then be provided by Wheelchair services specific to the person's needs. For H&S reasons we do not supply generic wheelchairs in the home therefore if Occ Health do not feel a wheelchair is required it is the responsibility of the individual or family to provide. We are pleased your brother has settled in well at Dolphin View and you are both happy with the care provided, the staff in the care home are dedicated in ensuring all residents receive the best care and support possible.
Following receipt of the complaint, Roseberry Care completed a full investigation into the concerns raised, Senior Management met with the complainant, and apologised for the breakdown in communication at the home level. Lessons had been learnt and the process was updated on admission into the home. As per Roseberry's complaint policy, a formal written outcome of findings and an apology letter were sent to the daughter.

We do need to keep entrances and exits to the home secure for the safety of our residents.
I’m sorry you have sometimes experienced a delay in staff attending to the door, we do try to prioritise the doorbell, but if staff are all attending to resident needs, then sometimes, at busier times of the day, delays in admitting visitors can occur.

I have been qualified for over 15 years working in both private and NHS settings- before my role at Dolphin View as Manager, I worked for Roseberry Care for over 18 months as a deputy manager at one of Roseberry Care's other homes.
I am passionate about person-centred care and providing a homely comfortable environment for our residents to enjoy.
I have an open-door policy and everyone is welcome to discuss any positives or negatives at any time.
