She went in about 3 weeks ago then became permanent on the 7th June 23.
She told us she was happy and the nurses were very nice and the meals were nice.
We saw a big change in her and the family were happy mam was happy.
I go in every day to see her and stay about 2 hours, I am also offered a cup of tea of staff when mam gets hers. She calls it her new home.
However, my husband and myself were told the code to come in and out. I do not wish this to go further as I already have been told about this. The only problem we have is sometimes we are waiting for someone to let us in and out so when the care staff are busy with patients we have to wait.
We know this is a good thing for security but I am not the only visitor that feels this way.
Having to wait for someone to open the door is taking away staff who are very busy with patients.
We do need to keep entrances and exits to the home secure for the safety...
From the time my sister was admitted into Dolphin View Care Home until her death, she never once complained about any of the staff regarding her treatment. All the staff had time for her, popping in for a quick chat and laugh. She called Dolphin View her home and was happy there. As far as we were concerned she was treated with dignity and well cared for. That was all that mattered to my wife, brother and I.
Thank you for your kind comments about the care your sister received whilst living in Dolphin View we will ensure this is passed to the staff team.
My aunt was a very independent lady living into her late 90s in her beloved flat.
When this was no longer possible the management and staff made her feel she was at home and she quickly settled into communal living.
Due to a long distance, we could not visit as much as we would have liked to,
however, the staff made it easy to have contact with her and the home ensuring the constant flow of communication continued.
We will be forever grateful for the endless chocolate drinks, dignity and respect my aunt received.
Thank you to all the amazing staff who gave her the best life when she could no longer do this herself.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write the review, it is always nice to know your aunt enjoyed living in Dolphin View and the staff gave her the love, care and support she needed, and they supported her in keeping in contact with her loved ones. I will ensure this is passed on to the team.
I have been a resident since February 2020. I have received care second to none. The staff care for me as they would their own family.
Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback, Eileen, I will pass your comments and praise onto the staff.
Excellent.
Thank you for your feedback; it is much appreciated. I will pass your kind comments to the staff team.
The standard of care provided to my father is outstanding. The staff are professional and kind to my father and I get regular updates from management. I can't thank the staff enough.
Thank you for taking the time to give such positive feedback, I will pass on your comments to all the staff.
Resident has been here for 12 years. All the staff know him very well and treat him as an individual, not as a man who has a stroke.
Thank you for your positive feedback I will ensure this is passed on to the team.
I have found the girls and manager to be very helpful and caring. Always keeping me informed if either of my parents are unwell or if they need anything. They often stop and chat with Mam and Dad if they are passing their room if they have time. Overall I'm very pleased with Dolphin View.
Thank you for taking the time to give such positive feedback Tracey. I will pass your comments on to all our staff. I know they will appreciate it, as they enjoy taking care of your parents.
Try to fulfil my father's needs as well as possible.
Keep me informed all the time.
Thank you for your positive feedback with respect to the quality of care being provided by the team. It is always nice to know, and I will ensure the team are informed.
Very helpful staff.
I am pleased you have found the staff helpful and from the star ratings provided have found the quality of the service provided to a high standard. We will ensure this is passed to the team.
All carers have been very friendly, having been here for thirteen years I cannot fault them.
Thank you for your review, Willie, it's lovely to see that your overall experience here at Dolphin View is very positive. I will come and chat with you to explore if there are any specific activities that we could offer that would better meet your preferences.
Visiting arrangement regarding Covid well organised.
Thank you for your positive review. Communication is essential so I am pleased to hear that you are happy with the team at Dolphin View.
I was so worried about putting mum into a care home. I couldn't believe how quickly she settled in. She's now eating well and looks so much better after only 3 weeks. This is all down to the wonderful staff. I'm so impressed at how we just have to ask for something and it happens immediately. An example of how all care homes should be run.
I highly recommend this very caring nursing home not just to other loved ones and friends but to everyone whom has a loved one in need of tender care.
The staff were unbelievably caring kind and considerably to my father and all of us family. I always got asked if I would like anything down to a drink and often a snack. My father had his last 2 months at this establishment from him coming to Northumberland due to very ill health and I'm so pleased that the last few months he had with us was in the hands of angels from Dolphin View. Hand on heart I owe all the staff a massive thank you from the bottom of my heart and may god be with them all. x
My father stayed for respite in Dolphin View due to his COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). He was always treated in a dignified manner. Staff were friendly and helpful. The manager was very approachable for chats. Rooms were small without en suite but were very adequate and kept clean. My father had no problems with the food the month he stayed.
As daughters, we are very happy with the care our father receives at The Dolphin Residential Care Home at Amble. The carers are extremely kind to our father and talk to him, which he enjoys, as when living by himself he did lack company.
I do not "enjoy" being here. One is left to get on with it. That's fine if a person can. I cannot always do that.
Not enough activities. That may be the fault of the clients who do not attend and take part. I came here on the rebound from having chemotherapy and did not feel good.
My immediate and first day here was quite pleasant. An apology for that came from lead person and had to accept that apology, and did, but was not happy.
Had to wipe no2's from the toilet seat when assisting mum on the toilet as carers walked by. Mum's tablets left on her table. I told carer that mum had a toothache and was told: "I'll get the nurse to give her painkillers". My mum is at risk of falls and was struggling to walk and told to hold the rail. They haven't refunded what's left of my mum's hairdressing money after 3 weeks. Glad she is out of there.
My husband has lived here for 18 months and I am very happy to find such a good home nearby, The standards have been good and consistently maintained. The management and staff do a good job here.
