Review of South Bebside Care Home from D R (Daughter of Resident) published on 29 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card
Overall Experience

The South Bebside Care Home in my opinion is 10/10 excellent the time they all are willing to give for not just residents but families is second to none. They are always trying to motivate & encourage all residents to try new things & are always celebrating every day they can. The top priority in every thing they do is the residents & their comfort wellbeing & dignity.

Reply from Sandra Ward, Operations Director at South Bebside Care Home

Thank you for such positive comments in respect to the staff team and the care they provide to the residents and also to families. I will ensure this is passed on to the manager and staff team.

My Mum has been cared for by this team for 6 months now. The staff have been very kind and caring throughout.
She has appreciated and enjoyed being cared for and it has been great knowing that she is safe. The medical care she has received has been excellent.

The only negative for my Mum has not been having her own toilet otherwise all has been good for her.

Review of South Quay Care Home from Claire S (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 16 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I cannot thank the wonderful team at South Quay Care Hone enough for the incredible respite care they are providing for my grandma. From my very first enquiry, the manager was exceptionally helpful, providing me with a wealth of information that set very clear and reassuring expectations for her stay.

What stood out the most was their efficiency. The team showed an incredible attention to detail, identifying potential risks and prioritizing her care needs within an amazingly short timeframe. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, which gave me and the family total peace of mind. Thank you all for your professionalism and warmth!

Reply from Charlotte Shiels, Manager at South Quay Care Home
Thank you so much for your kind words. This was a very brief admission but she showed us her cheeky side and made the staff love her as soon as they met her.

Such a character who will be sorely missed. I will pass your comments to the staff thank you so much and I'm glad we were able to make her last days comfortable.

Review of South Quay Care Home from B M (Daughter of Resident) published on 16 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Dad came to South Quay for respite first and we couldn't believe how caring and supportive they were in settling Dad (who has Dementia). Dad is now a resident and I can honestly say the whole team are fantastic in meeting his needs and supporting our family. Food is very much old school just what he likes especially the puddings. Entertainment and activities are brilliant, I've even joined my Dad in having a dance and sing along ! There are some individual staff who go above and beyond for my Dad..I just can't name them here. We call here Dad's Happy Home ;)

Review of Norbury Court from L A (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 15 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Excellent level of care by lovely staff. Everybody is friendly and helpful, from the manager to the cleaners. My mother in law is completely bed-bound and practically immobile. Medical attention is prompt and well organised and my mother-in-law says she feels very well looked after. In the year that we have been visiting, we have seen an immense improvement in the running of the home, although I wish they would get rid of the old carpets.

Reply from Andreea Rasinar, Registered Manager at Norbury Court

Thank you so much for your lovely words. It really means a lot to all of us to know that you feel your mother-in-law is safe, comfortable and well cared for. We are privileged to be part of her journey, and your kindness and trust are truly appreciated. Thank you for putting your trust in us.

Review of Valley View & Penshaw House from G S (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 July 2026 Submitted via Postal Card

mam has been a resident for 6 months. Although initially she was very unsettled and upset, the staff always assured me my mam was calm and joining in. Evidence is clear to see from the homes social media page. My mam is now settled and enjoys the activities and general company of the staff and new friends she has made with other residents. The structure of her day clearly has helped being in a routine. Mam is always clean and tidy, hair done, and nails kept neat and polished. It has been a hard journey as mam's Alzheimers worsened, whilst we cared for her at home. The need to find professional help in a caring, friendly environment has done her the world of good,

Review of Springfield House from Maggie M (Niece of Resident) published on 8 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
I am writing this review for the care my uncle receives at Springfield care home.
My uncle has been in the nursing side of the home for a number of years now and i am truly grateful for all the love and care he is given . I honestly do not think he could be in a better place.
Recently he was taken poorly with pneumonia and the quick response from the nursing team got him to hospital promptly and treated .
He returned to his care home to be continued to be looked after by all the wonderful staff. I cant thank them enough for making my uncle feel safe , loved and cared for.
The staff know him and take time to speak to him even though he can not now communicate very well at all.

I absolutely wouldnt want him to be anywhere else .

Review of Hylton View Care Home from D L (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Every member of staff in the home makes each and every resident feel loved cared for and at times special in their own way

The residents are all lovely and clean and bathed at all times

They have hairdresser that comes in on a Friday and to see the residents with their hair all dressed be and nice make us as family feel as good as they do

The food is of a high standard and plenty of choice given to n a daily basis

I would indeed recommend mend this facility to anyone looking for a residential home for a loved one.

Review of Rosemount Care Home from Paul B (Son of Resident) published on 2 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My Dad went in there in May as a Nursing Care resident and I can say that the nursing care has been excellent with a real sense that the staff care about him (The medical leads are superb) which obviously gives our family peace of mind. The staff are very polite and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Reply from Sandra Ward, Operations Director at Rosemount Care Home

Thank you for your positive comments, we are pleased your dad has settled in well and that the care has been excellent, we will ensure this is passed on to the manager and staff team.

Review of Springfield House from Jill B (Daughter of Resident) published on 2 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
My mother has been looked after wonderfully for over four years here.
She enjoys the food and eats well. Drinks are readily available.
The doctor goes in every week and residents can see them if necessary.
There is some sort of activity or entertainment daily if the residents can be persuaded to join in. The Carers are loving and respectful to my Mum.
Her room could be better equipped ie nicer curtains and bedlinen. As the building is so old its also quirky and sometimes the heating and hot water doesnt reach certain parts. However the staff do everything to make this work and Mum seems happy and comfortable in her room as far as Im aware. Only issue is if the lift breaks, which has done several times during Mums stay. The home should have priority call out for repairs, this is not the homes fault however.

Overall we are very happy and grateful with the care given here.

The staff at Springfield House are always very welcoming when we visit my mother. They are very kind to my mom and understand her needs. They provide foods that she requests (and she does have some unusual requests). My mom has settled in well and is well looked after.
