Cameron House Care Home

from S P (Daughter of Resident) published on 17 September 2025
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My mum has received the best of care at Cameron House. The staff have been/are lovely with her and I have always found her to be well looked after and content. She does complain about the food but she has never been keen on meals and cooking herself so I don't take a lot of notice of that!
Reply from Melanie Benson, Regional Operations Manager at Cameron House Care Home

The Home Manager, the team and I are so pleased to hear that your Mum has received the best of care at Cameron House and that she is happy here. We understand that your Mum has never been keen on cooking or food in general, but we will continue to do our best to find alternatives for your Mum to be able to enjoy. Thank you again for your feedback, which we really appreciate.

Review of

South Park Care Home

from Phil E (Son of Resident) published on 16 September 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My father came to South Park from hospital as the home he had previously been in didn't feel they could provide the ongoing care he needed. Prior to accepting the place offered we paid a surprise visit around 18.00 hours one evening. We were warmly received and the member of staff we met was more
than happy to show us around. All the staff we bumped into that evening appeared to be happy in their work.

The home is a tired structure, and feels like it needs some significant investment, but please don't let that put you off. The care provided to my father was brilliant. The medical staff were eager to learn all about him to help them understand what his specific needs were. Although he was only with them for a number of weeks I was more than happy with what was done for him, but also what I saw provided for other residents.

All the staff we met over this period had a cheerful demeanor and were happy to chat with the relatives of the residents. It's the care that matters.

My friend came into Lowgate while having to come to terns with a diagnosis of M.N.D and the inevitable deterioration this would lead to. The staff home treated and cared for her sensitivity, coped well with difficulties associated with her dementia, and responded well to her individual needs. We all
feel this has been a good move and she is in the best place for her current and future needs.

My mum spent the last six months of her life at Springfield House, I cannot speak highly enough of the care she received from the first day the staff showed exceptional professionalism, compassion and respect. Both to mum and my family, the dignity and kindness was overwhelming and so gratefully appreciated.
My mum genuinely enjoyed her time there. I am sincerely grateful to everyone at Springfield House.

My husband had a medical emergency, and all the staff looked after him very well. After a small stay in the hospital, he was glad to be back to the home and all the friendly staff as he feels at home in there now, and well cared for.

My brother was initially admitted for short term respite care in May 2024, but it became rapidly apparent that this must be permanent. Despite best efforts from Staff (and myself) he has since been totally Bedfast, and couldn't tolerate being moved into a chair even for the shortest of times. Staff
care has always been friendly and efficient and understanding of his demands, and his calls for assistance have been rapidly answered.

Beech Grove

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Beech Grove provides a welcoming environment with very attentive care/support staff, managed effectively from the top. On the odd occasion where staff have been less helpful (nights) this has been dealt with quickly and efficiently.
The rooms are adequate for an individual's needs but the tidiness
and cleanliness is sometimes lacking.
Overall a good experience in the areas that really matter.

Lowgate has been a god send for us when we were told after a short hospital stay that our parent could not return to his care home and we had to find one that could cater for his needs we were very stressed looking round nothing worked until we came to Lowgate. We were met by smiles and told nothing
was too much trouble and they meant it. They are amazing caring staff who also encourage and support the family. V.E. Day was a high light we got to share a meal as a family!!

I couldn't be happier with the care mum is receiving since her admission in May. She has gone from someone who was isolated to being content, sociable and well cared for. Its lovely to see her eating well and accepting support with her personal care. Mum is now thriving.

My mam came to South Bebside Care Home 1st May 2025 for respite with the view to long term/ permanent.I was very undecided whether to do this but I've never looked back, the staff are fabulous, rooms very spacious, lovely lounge/ dayroom and very pleasant family conservatory. The meals are lovely and
plentiful and lots if choice.Mam is a very private person who doesn't mix but she is joining in, going in day trips, hairdresser and nails painted every week.Im over the moon with my decision as all staff are very approachable very friendly and go that extra mile to help.
