Reviews

9 Ashlea Court has a Review Score of 9 (8.991)

The Review Score of 9 (maximum of 10) for Ashlea Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Ashlea Court in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.262 for Ashlea Court is calculated as follows: ( (25 Excellents x 5) + (56 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 84 Ratings = 4.262

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

    3. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.

The 4.729 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashlea Court is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 9.6 positive Reviews (48 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 7 Reviews ÷ 9.6 Target = 0.729

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

I am very happy with this service and care being provided for my 95-year-old father, and formerly my mother prior to her death in January 2016. The staff are very helpful and hardworking in all areas of the home. I am kept informed about all issues affecting my father's well-being and will continue to use Ashlea Court for the wonderful service they provide.

The staff are kind and very caring towards my mum. I visit most days and the staff always speak, making me feel valued. My mum is nearly 103 and I know she feels safe and secure since moving to Ashlea Court. My thanks and appreciation go to all the staff.

I have visited this home recently and found the staff to be helpful and kind, there is a very homely atmosphere and my friend seems very content living there. I had the opportunity to sit outside within the courtyard which was a lovely environment to enjoy a chat and a cup of tea with my friend.

I entered this home in February 2013 to await an operation for a new hip and hernia. There was 24hr nursing care then and I was well cared for. Eventually, new owners took over and the home became purely residential in 2016. Today it is more like a home environment. To this end, the owners and management try to create this by res/family meetings and surgeries to deal with any concerns. Redecoration and refurbishment is taking place and the wishes of res and family consulted. It is surely imperative that senior carers should, amongst other things they do, make sure that things are seen to be done and not just accept ticked boxes. This home and others help prevent NHS beds being overloaded. However, there must be more transparency between Gov and councils on the question of who pays fees. Many care home residents, this one included, have to use their hard earned savings to subsidise others, very unrewarding.

My mother has been in the care of Ashlea Court since March 2015 and my father also was cared for there for 3 years previous and passed away in the home.
The family found the carers were excellent and very approachable.
The senior carers kept the family informed of any issues.
The staff from the top right down to the laundry and kitchen staff were excellent.
The family recommend this home for its care and friendliness of all the staff.
