Ashlea Court is situated on Church Lane in the heart of Waltham Village, All Saints Church situated just down the lane provides residents with a monthly religious service within the home along with communion, if residents wish to partake.

There are well established links with the community and many events are held at the home that local people get involved with. The range of activities available includes quiz nights, pamper sessions, gardening, baking, aerobic exercise, trips to the pub, walks around the village, card games, dominoes and many more.

Residents are encouraged to be as independent and active as they are able to be and to retain interests and hobbies. Ashlea Court is open to suggestions about new activities and actively encourages everyone to come forward with any suggestions or ways in which the service can be improved, during regular committee meetings.

The home has its own minibus, which is used to take residents on outings, the favourites being Cleethorpes for an ice-cream or fish and chips on the sea front or to the local garden centre for a coffee and a chat.

Ashlea Court has 43 rooms spread over two floors. Garden rooms are situated on the ground floor in an extended part of the building. They are very spacious and have a good size en-suite as well as their own patio area.

Standard rooms on the ground and first floor have an en-suite and some of these rooms have an enhanced view on to Waltham allotments and surrounding areas.

On the first floor there are three recently refurbished suites which comprise of a sitting room, bedroom, small kitchenette and en-suite.

The hairdresser visits weekly on a Friday and the chiropodist visits regularly to keep on top of residents' footcare.

I recently had to put my aunt into a care home and chose Ashlea Court. I could not have chosen better. The staff are friendly, kind and welcoming and have worked wonders with my aunt, who was very reluctant to go into a home. She is being cared for, stimulated, entertained and (I would go as far as
saving) loved by the extremely wonderful team of staff there. Their exceptional manner and patience with her has meant she is looking and feeling better than she has in a very long time. I cannot thank them enough and will forever be in their debt for everything they have done and continue to do for her. I would like to pay particular thanks to the current deputy manager who has gone over and above to ensure my aunt settled as quickly as possible. She has been incredible - thank you so much. Keep up the fabulous work ladies.

An excellent facility. Clean well furnished and maintained to a high standard. My mother and her family have peace of mind knowing that she is well cared for, safe and happy with friendly supportive staff. I recommend Ashlea Court unreservedly.

My neighbour came here after a fall and her dementia worsened. She's been very well looked after and is fondly considered among all the staff. I've got to know lots of the residents and staff over the last year or so and look forward to my Tuesday visits. My friend is in good hands!

My dad is currently in respite care for a week for the first time. We have been very pleased with the excellent care both physically and emotionally he has received. Staff are always open and welcoming to visiting family and the whole place has a homely and calm feeling. We hope to make this a regular
event and would not hesitate to recommend this home and its wonderful staff to others.

The carers are good and well trained. The food is good for the residents and there is a good atmosphere in the home. Friendly and welcoming staff. My mum has been at Ashlea Court for 7 1/2 years. She is quite frail and has dementia. I can ring or go to visit any time which is great. They really are
kind to my mum. However her hearing aid and teeth have been lost, but these things can be replaced. The priority is Mum's wellbeing and they do care about her. I can go to the manager, or senior carers, if I am worried about anything and they will try their best to put it right.

I have visited this home recently and found the staff to be helpful and kind, there is a very homely atmosphere and my friend seems very content living there. I had the opportunity to sit outside within the courtyard which was a lovely environment to enjoy a chat and a cup of tea with my friend.

I entered this home in February 2013 to await an operation for a new hip and hernia. There was 24hr nursing care then and I was well cared for. Eventually, new owners took over and the home became purely residential in 2016. Today it is more like a home environment. To this end, the owners and management
try to create this by res/family meetings and surgeries to deal with any concerns. Redecoration and refurbishment is taking place and the wishes of res and family consulted. It is surely imperative that senior carers should, amongst other things they do, make sure that things are seen to be done and not just accept ticked boxes. This home and others help prevent NHS beds being overloaded. However, there must be more transparency between Gov and councils on the question of who pays fees. Many care home residents, this one included, have to use their hard earned savings to subsidise others, very unrewarding.

My mother has been in the care of Ashlea Court since March 2015 and my father also was cared for there for 3 years previous and passed away in the home.
The family found the carers were excellent and very approachable.
The senior carers kept the family informed of any issues.
The staff from the top
right down to the laundry and kitchen staff were excellent.
The family recommend this home for its care and friendliness of all the staff.
