My mum has been here for over a year now, my wife and me didn't want my mum to have to go into a care home, but we had no choice, but it's been a blessing in disguise. All the staff are amazing and work as a team. We can have time away and relax knowing she's in their capable hands.

My dad loves it here and says the food is really good. He says the carers are friendly and they look after him well. Once dad was settled he was happy . Every one is friendly and kind. The activity worker is absolutely fantastic , and goes above and beyond to make sure the residents are happy. She puts her heart into her work . I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a home for their parents / relatives .

My mum has been a resident now for about 18 months and I've been really happy with the standard of care she has received. The staff are all friendly, and the home feels lively and 'lived in'. It's not as grand as some of the care homes I looked at, but that doesn't matter to me. What matters is that the residents are being well cared for, it feels like a welcoming home, and I can leave her knowing she's in safe hands.

After a difficult 6 months of home care dad went into hospital for another 4 weeks, it was time for residential. After a past experience of Moorend it was the obvious place for dad to reside. Our initial tour with the Manager Emma and Administrator Kerry they gave us courage and confidence to continue. The transition from 'home to home' was seamless. The team made a difficult time a much easier time. They now carry my load and I can walk taller with the confidence that dad is content, cared for and safe.Thank you.

The home is well managed, and the staff are friendly and caring. There have been some new staff recruited recently, and the ones who have not met requirements have been let go.

The service provided ultimately depends on the staff and the staff are all excellent. As one said to me, when my wife hadn't been there long 'we're like a family here' and that sums it up.

Wow, what an amazing care team this lovely care home has. My grandma celebrated her 100th birthday there last week and it couldn't go past without a review. They decorated the Forget Me Not cafe downstairs and when I say decorated I mean, banners, balloons, party fascinators on staff and residents. They booked an amazing singer and put on a HUGE buffet. They made my grandma's day extra special, it moved me to tears. They were so happy for her. Not only that day though, she has lived there for over 5 years and she has been so well looked after. We get regular phone calls as to how she is doing and when we visit there is often a lovely carer just sat with her holding her hand so she isn't alone. They go above and beyond. The care is exceptional, we would highly recommend to anyone looking at care homes for their loved one.

My wife has been in Moorend Place approaching 3 years suffering advanced dementia. Although Moorend isn't a 5* hotel care home and doesn't try to be, it offers excellent nursing care and support for residents' families.

Good and committed management with many long term carers .

This nursing home is one in a million.
My mum has dementia and moved here after I had looked after her at home and I could no longer keep her safe.
It is such a difficult time and along with this you see and hear of so many terrible experiences that other families have in other establishments.
But from day one the manager and the wonderful staff team have been so supportive to my mum and her needs as well as to us as a family.

I am very grateful to all concerned. I know that my mum is happy and content, her needs are recognised and met but they go above and beyond that. She is treated as an individual which is very important to me.

I am very happy with the care my mum receives in the home. The staff work so hard and have always shown care and respect for mum. They update me with any issues and are always quick to contact the doctor if they are concerned in any way. My mum seems very happy there and responds well to all the careworkers and seems to genuinely care for them. The activity's are well planned and varied and i feel a lot of work , thought and care goes into to them. The only issue was the home was a little tired but recently it is having an overhaul and decorating is underway. The colours chosen are lovely and have brightened it up so well. A big thank you to the staff for the outstanding care they are giving. THANKYOU XXX

My Mum has been a resident at Moorend Place for quite a few years now. I cannot adequately describe in words how wonderful the staff are. My Mum, and all the other residents, are treated with such loving kindness. Dementia is such a difficult and complex condition and manifests in so many ways, but the staff demonstrate such an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the condition in the ways they care for those with dementia. Residents are treated with such love, patience and kindness always, and never more so than when they are distressed or upset. The staff are all exceptional. It is also a home with lots of fun, joy and happiness. Everything is done to make it a home from home and there are so many lovely activities for residents and families to enjoy. The staff are also amazing in providing support to families. I cannot speak highly enough of them.

Moorend Place were quick to take my Dad from a confusing hospital environment and help him settle into his new home smoothly and with great love and care. Every need was met and no request was too small or insignificant. All the staff were brilliant and he particularly enjoyed some banter with the male carers, keen to bring out that lovely smile of his. Highly recommend this care home.

The only downside the care home is the laundry. Its very rare my sister-in-law has her own clothes on despite everything she has labels in.

The staff at Moorend Place are exceptional. The staff genuinely seem to care for the residents and your loved one is cared for as an individual. The staff at Moorend consistently go above and beyond to make the experience for the resident and their families as comfortable and as comforting as possible. The staff have a "nothing is too much trouble" attitude, always willing to help. The communication with family is outstanding and the manager will respond to e-mails even out of hours and when she is off work. The lack of staff turnover speaks volumes, in what must be a difficult, sad and stressful environment. My Mother had been a resident at Moorend since 2020. When my Father was diagnosed with dementia, and needed residential care, the staff at Moorend created a double room which allowed my parents to be together for the last 3 weeks of my Mothers life. We truly believe that my Mother was, and my Father is, in the very best place, we couldn't ask for more.

Moorend Place and all their wonderful staff have been a godsend over the past 4+ years. When Mum's dementia deteriorated during Covid, we wanted to find a residential home that would always put Care and Kindness first. At Moorend Place this is definitely a priority. They went over and beyond to settle Mum into her new surroundings and have always been there to support Dad too.
Mum passed away in Dec 2024 just a few weeks after our Dad joined her at Moorend. The staff couldn't have done any more to support us through this extremely difficult time.
Our relationship with Moorend Place now continues with Dad. As another difficult chapter begins for our family we know Dad is in safe hands.
As my sister and I both live abroad, good communication is essential. The manager and staff are exceptional in this regard. We have built up a good relationship with the home over the past 4 years and this provides us with much needed peace of mind.

A massive thank you to you all.
