My father has been at Moorend Place for some time now, and all the staff love him and cannot do enough for him.
From walking through the door to leaving, all the staff are happy and welcoming.
Any issues, and they always call me to let me know.

Brilliant!

My husband has been in bed for four months. Hospital and an assessing care home. I was amazed and delighted to find him on his first full day there, to be in the dining room in a wheelchair, feeding himself and enjoying a Chuck Berry tape, conducting away with his arms and tapping his feet. I really thought we had found his haven. Far too short a time. He passed away eight days later. I know he could never be cured of dementia, but a longer stay would have improved his quality of life.

Lovely setting with great outside space and the canteen, which can be used for visits, is great.

Staff are friendly and my Dad does appear to enjoy the environment, even though it's a massive change for him from living independently in his own home only 8 months ago.

The decor could be updated especially around the floor and skirting boards, in parts it looks unclean and a little dirty.

Wi-fi is much needed.

Thanks to all the staff.

Putting your partner into a care home is a really difficult decision but I have not regretted it. The staff are so supportive of both the residents and their families. My husband is happy and safe and treated with care. He loves his carers and has a good relationship with them as do I.

The team at Moorend Place Nursing Home are truly wonderful. They treat everyone with care, compassion and respect. Staff treat residents like members of their own family which goes a long way to help reassure you that your family member is being well cared for at all times. The staff have a lovely rapport with residents and enjoy humorous interactions which gives the home a very happy feel. Whenever I visit I am made to feel incredibly welcome and that nothing is too much trouble. If you ever have a query staff take the time to listen and offer support: despite the fact that they are incredibly busy. Most importantly my Dad is happy and content and shows affection for the staff which tells us everything we need to know now he is no longer able to fully communicate his thoughts.

Although sadly Mum only lived at Moorend Place Nursing Home for a few weeks, we could not have asked for anything more for her. The staff were so caring and understanding at what was a very difficult time for Mum and all the family. Nothing was too much trouble for them; they kept the family informed at all times and there was always someone who had the time to answer any of our questions. We felt confident that Mum was being looked after in the best possible way. She was always treated with the utmost care and dignity and as an individual with her requests being respected.

Thank you to all the staff for the very genuine care you gave to Mum and the support you gave to us as a family. We wish we had found you sooner.

I can't praise all the staff at Moorend Place Nursing Home enough for their amazing, and genuine, care, kindness and professionalism in the looking after of our dear mum. There would always be someone on hand to answer a question or be there for support or to tend to a need. I couldn't always be there, but even then I knew Mum was in the best of care at all times, and felt more than reassured by phone how mum was feeling and her state of health. It was a huge relief to feel confident in leaving Mum at Moorend because we knew she had the best of everything.
Everyone's kindness was extended to not only Mum but to ourselves when we went to visit and they were more than accommodating to make sure we felt happy and confident with the care mum was receiving.
Although Mum's stay was a relatively short one, we knew that everything possible was done for her to keep her comfortable and that she was cared for in a way that we would have wanted.

So, thank you, once more, you are all doing an incredible job.

I cannot praise Moorend Place Nursing Home and its wonderful, dedicated staff highly enough for the care they are currently giving Mum. I have spent a lot of time here recently and I am always made to feel so welcome, that nothing is too much trouble. Mum, now in end-of-life care is treated with respect and dignity. When help is required it is given expediently, with Mum checked at least hourly, and the doctor visits bi-weekly.

The staff's rapport with residents is lovely, with sparkle and humour. I first visited at Christmas but I have since learnt the happiness and frivolity shown with residents is all year round, each aspect of dementia for each resident is approached individually. Many care homes say they cater for dementia but actually do not understand and cannot cope with any aspects which are remotely challenging. Moorend Place is different, they understand, they reassure. When you shut the door you know the person who you desperately wish you could care for yourself is safe and loved.

Since my mum has become a resident in September 2022, she has improved considerably. The dedicated care team at Moorend have brought Mum back from poor heat twice since she has been a resident. At all times, my mum is treated with love and respect, and I know that she is 100% safe as Moorend staff prioritises safety, along with overall health and well-being. I am extremely happy with Mum's care, and I think all Moorend staff should have a non-taxable bonus!

Moorend Place Nursing Home - thank you!
After a long heartbreaking process of being in and out of the hospital and rehabilitation care homes with shocking care I can finally settle knowing Nan is cared for with exceptional care.
Thank you for the love, care and honour you show my nana, it's been a long road but we finally got there. The relationship you have with not just Nan but all of the lovely men and women within your care is just so beautiful, you have tended to Nan's diet, routine and most importantly been on top form with Nan's health.
She is warm, fed and unbelievably looked after and cared for, this gives me the happiest feeling to see her smiling and laughing and being Nan again, even though she is forgetful and sometimes calls me every name but my own.

The staff are amazing with nan and have built up a lovely relationship with her, Nan smiles, laughs and feels comfortable with them and most importantly safe.

I cannot fault the staff working at Moorend Place Nursing Home. They all treat my mother with so much care and respect and she seems very settled. Her security and dignity are more than taken care of, which is a big relief for her family.

My only criticism is that the decor is a little tired and would benefit from a makeover! But this is a small price to pay as the rest of my mother's care is so brilliant!

Mum joined Moorend in October 2021. I have found that the care home staff are very caring, and treat residents as family. I am kept informed about Mum's situation if anything arises. They really try to make Mum comfortable and included.

Above all our mum is happy, she is content.
She speaks well of the staff looking after her.
She has faces that smile at her and say hello.
She does not feel alone.

My view is that although Mum has dementia, we feel she is genuinely cared for. I see how the staff interact with other residents and it all seems so very real, so very genuine. Her room is nice and Mum loves it. It is well kept by the staff and it is very much homely. My sister and I are happy and content with all Moorend.

Mum is not in a home, she is at home. Moorend is her home. From the welcome we received on first walking into the reception at Moorend, we knew it was the right place for her. The staff are lovely,m caring and efficient. Anything Mum needs, or we as a family need is never too much trouble. I'm so relieved Mum is in her forever home.

The care residents are given is above and beyond, and this care is extended to the support of family too. Staff are all regulars except for very occasional emergencies so they know the residents and their personalities and foibles. Mum's health was suffering at home with Dad. Despite this he was very much opposed to her being put in 24-hour care. The transition was a difficult time for us but the staff have supported us in coping with the problems which arose. Particular thanks are due to the residential floor manager and Mum's nominated support worker. She has taken on board all Dad's concerns (some of which to be frank were very petty and due to his objection to 24-hour care in principle) and he is now very satisfied with Mum's care. Mum's social worker was extremely impressed with the level of attention to detail and record keeping at the home. The building is not super modern but it is clean and smells fresh. The laundry sorting still needs improvement despite changes.

Wonderful staff and home. Their excellent care changed my mum's destiny, when she arrived there she was barely surviving and now she is thriving very well indeed. Both manager and staff pay close attention to every detail. We feel contented knowing Mum is well cared for. The laundry system needs improvement, other than that, I highly recommend. The home radiates kindness in every way.

My sister and I are so thankful for the care and kindness our mother receives every day for the last 2 years. She is a private person and likes to stay in her own lovely room, but is encouraged to eat in the dining room and join in the many activities. My mum is 97 years old and were it not for the care she gets every day, she would not still be with us. We cannot thank all the staff for everything they do.
