The staff at the home are lovely. Current management are relatively new, and already the care and attention of the new team is showing on every level. I feel the home is on a journey to become excellent, which shouldn't be too far away. Facilities are being improved, and new services are being added/made available to residents. I would recommend this home be in your list for consideration.

My Dad went in there in May as a Nursing Care resident and I can say that the nursing care has been excellent with a real sense that the staff care about him (The medical leads are superb) which obviously gives our family peace of mind. The staff are very polite and nothing is too much trouble for them.

Reply from Sandra Ward, Operations Director at Rosemount Care Home

Thank you for your positive comments, we are pleased your dad has settled in well and that the care has been excellent, we will ensure this is passed on to the manager and staff team.

Since the introduction of a new manager Rosemount has significantly improved and continues to make changes for the better.
The home is currently fully staffed and my mother is treated well and with dignity by all. I am reassured she receives the appropriate care and support.
She enjoys the food and has put much needed weight on recently.
The activity staff are also excellent and encourage all residents to join in. There were many fun activities over the xmas period.
Communication with relatives is good, the manager has an open door policy and I am confident that any issues will be sorted out as soon as possible. The monthly relatives meetings are very useful and new Admin staff has improved communication via emails and social media.

Overall Rosemount Care Home has a bright and happy atmosphere and deserves the 'Good' CQC rating recently awarded.

Rosemount is a wonderful care home that feels warm and homely, made by the caring and kind staff. Moving my dad into a care home, due to his increasing needs was an emotional wrench for our family. However, Norma and ehr team have been so supportive of my dad and us as a family that the transition has been as smooth as possible. The staff are caring and attentive. They work so hard to create a home from environment. The food is top notch and the activities are engaging and fun. I could not recommend Rosemount highly enough!

Following the sudden decline of my sisters health my brother made a journey from the USA to visit. On hearing about the visit, the manager and some team members came together to organise an early Christmas celebration. My sister was wheeled into a beautifully decorated room with a Christmas tree to find us waiting. A small buffet and drinks were provided along with some small gifts and crackers.
We spent very precious time together. One of the activity ladies took a family photo which was then printed and framed for my sister. I can't thank the manager and team enough for what they did for us. My brother was impressed by the happy atmosphere and friendly team.

My heartfelt thanks again.

All the staff are caring, patient, friendly and professional, knowledgeable and appropriate attentive to the needs of my relative. My relative is non verbal but it is clear she feels loved by her care team and that assures me that the above observation of staff is genuine and continuous even outside of my visits. There have been improvements to the building maintenance but I do feel that budget for staffing is more important.

The family & I feel there is a great improvement in the care & appearance of Rosemount in the last six months. The manager is very dedicated and caring, who has raised the level of the home since she arrived. The care & domestic staff are very professional and standards have definitely improved.

The home has improved considerably since the introduction of a new manager last year! As I see on a daily basis, staff are clearly committed to doing the best job they can. They are always respectful and genuinely caring. All staff, including nurses, carers, kitchen and cleaners work hard and provide very good support. I feel reassured that my wife is in safe hands.

I couldn't thank the staff enough for how they have welcomed and cared for my grandpa since he was admitted, the 2 months he spent in hospital I could see he was going downhill, spending his days in bed and not really eating.
But since being at the home he has come back to life and I have the staff and manager to thank for this.

He seems so much brighter and happier, I was expecting this process to be stressful for both grandpa and our family, but it has been so easy and smooth again thanks to the manager and her staff, could not recommend this home enough.

A really big difference in the care home from the day the manager took over. Really approachable, open and honest, her and her team have worked really hard to improve things for residents. When she says she will do something it's done and is working very hard to achieve better for the home. Has recently been taken over and things are definitely moving in the right direction.

Absolutely shocking from day one! My father was left soaking wet for over 2 hours (with him pressing his buzzer) and only given a towel to dry himself from staff.
I went later on with my mum and pushed the buzzer and was told the staff "were on their way". My father requested I stayed during this change and the staff would not allow us to. We waited closely to his room for over 30 minutes. We went back into his room and he stated that the staff searched vigorously through all his belongings we had just brought in, eying up all the designer t-shirts he had.
We visited again the next day and my father was not at all himself, he was shaking erratically. It was like he was given too much medication. One day later, we got a phone call to say he had sadly passed away.
Tonight we went back to the home to collect his belongings and we were greeted by a very poorly resident who should not have been at the door unattended. There were no staff visible at all.

Think twice about this home.

My dad was in Rosemount for 5 months. Some of the carers were lovely with him, some weren't. One in particular complained when my dad pressed his buzzer for assistance. He was unable to do anything for himself. His bedroom didn't look clean. Dirty dishes being left often for more than 24 hours.
He spent the final months having nursing care. He was so weak, unable to press his buzzer. He would shout when he needed assistance. A carer closed his door so no one could hear him shouting. The buzzer was also placed out of his reach many times.
My dad's final weeks were very upsetting. I visited and he was dirty. I had to ask for him to be cleaned. I dread to think how long he'd have been left if I hadn't gone in.
There were safeguarding concerns raised by a healthcare professional about dad's care. I'm unsure of the outcome and my dad has recently passed away.

Rosemount hasn't initiated any contact since my dad passed away. No condolences offered by management.

Over 18 months my family member was at Rosemount, we were never satisfied with her care. Her room was dark, dingy and more often than not extremely smelly. We did complain but things never improved. According to her contract with the home she was supposed to have a chair provided, so she spent many hours sitting on a commode even to eat her meals until we organised a chair for her. Her last few weeks she had been moved to nursing care but we saw no change in her care. We tried to speak to the nurse in charge (but they were always in meetings). The day before she passed away she was taken to hospital, not even to be accompanied by a member of staff until a family member could get there. Hospital staff were appalled by her condition dirty and dehydrated. The management of Rosemount needs to be ashamed of the way this lady spent the last days of her life.
