Staff seem genuinely caring and know the residents well. They seem to be regular staff and not "bank" staff.

I would not recommend that anyone send a relative to this place. My mum was here for a while and we were so pleased to be able to get her out. The rooms were dark and dingy and were not kept properly clean, my mum was always sitting on her own in dirty clothes and one time I found her still in bed at
11.30 am with dirty clothes lying on top of her. Only one member of staff would engage with me when I asked questions, the others would literally run away and a woman, who I assume was the home manager, was very rude to me when I waited to speak to her. The staff did not actively come to speak to me to let me know how my mum was doing or settling in. The residents seem to be sitting in the day room most of the time in front of a very small TV, with little or no engagement with staff. Unbelievably, when my sister went to visit my mum one day and found her in the day room with one of carers fast asleep. When she woke up, she did not care that she had been caught sleeping on the job!

I would not recommend this care home to anyone. My dad was in here for about 5 weeks before passing away and was not looked after very well, hardly ever washed or shaved, his bed was not made, the floor in his room was sticky, that part of the building stunk to high heaven. The staff, especially the
Manager, hid in her office, spoke to Mum once and the Head Nurse could not give my mum an update on his wellbeing. Some of the staff were helpful - my mum had to help him. She would find him sitting in his own filth, when he was given a drink no one was there to help him drink it, he couldn't do that on his own. No stimulation in that lounge, the poor souls just left to sleep all day. I could go on but running out of space. I hope this review is published as I want other relatives to know what it is like. I doubt if it will be published but live in hope.

My wife was in the home for over four years and passed away last week. She was not able to stand or walk by herself but the care and attention given by the staff made her life so much better in these four years. In her last few months, she became very frail but the medical staff were very responsive
to her needs, supported by the care and attention of the other staff. They also helped and supported me through the final days. I could not thank them enough.

This is an update on a previous review as our Dad has since passed away. During the weeks leading up to his passing, I can only describe the care that he received as exceptional. Every member of the team, including the manager, were so kind and thoughtful to Dad. That care also extended to myself and
my brother. Thank you to all!

I was disappointed by the overall inconsistency of care. The care staff were pleasant respectful and caring but my husband was seriously ill and dying and there weren't enough of them to care for him. He spent long hours waiting for attention.

Day one was a disaster and prompted a complaint to the CQC. The experience after that was varied but never good. Even allowing for Covid absences and visiting restrictions, the provider falls short in many areas. It was often difficult to find a member of staff to help and they are often attending meetings.
Checks on residents are not frequent enough. Care of personal property is lamentable.

My father was sadly only at Rosemount for a short period of time due to his poor health, but during that time all the staff were exceptional, always willing to help and a pleasure to talk to. The place itself is well located with pretty outside areas and plenty of parking available. Like most care homes,
staff are very stretched and they do their best under what I can only imagine are very difficult circumstances.

My mother was a resident at Rosemount for the final 7 months of her life during the difficult, covid influenced, period from July 2021 to January 2022.
The care and comfort offered by Rosemount's staff was beyond our expectations and it allowed my mother to have a quality of life beyond her expectations
and ours.
The medical needs of my mother were quite extensive, but the attentive and caring work of the staff allowed her to live her final months in a thoroughly enjoyable way.
She loved being here. She called it home.

Thank you to the care assistants at Rosemount Care Home they were cheerful and supportive to our father. They are under extreme pressure due to lack of staff. 1:1 care is not always possible.

Our father was admitted to Rosemount and was in 10 days Covid isolation. These were 10 days lost for the

family. The management lacked proactive interaction with the family at the beginning of our father's stay. This we feel should have been done immediately, to ensure correct care needs were in place: food plan, special needs for our father (chair from home) character assessment (you cannot obtain this information from a piece of paper!) This is so important in building up a rapport between the management and the family.

Sadly our father passed away. We arranged to collect his belongings, there was no empathy shown from management upon arrival. When we departed it was a short "look after yourselves" and "can you complete this review for us".

We cannot change things for our father but we want to ensure that future residents and families receive the management support expected and needed at what is a very stressful time.

I cannot recommend Rosemount highly enough. My aunt recently made the transition from her own home to Rosemount and she has never been happier. Staff and management are truly superb; nothing is ever too much trouble. The care provided is second to none and the atmosphere always warm and welcoming. We
are incredibly lucky to have such a marvellous facility on our doorstep here in North Tyneside and I am very thankful to them all for all of their superb ongoing care and attention to my aunt. First-class in every respect!

My mum was a resident there. The staff are amazing so friendly and helpful, nothing at all was a problem. Nice airy rooms with temperature control. Light corridors with a home to home feeling. This does not at all feel like a care home. Residents are all well looked after and cared for. Food menu
has good choices on. There is entertainment for residents if they choose to participate.
At the start of this review I wrote my mam was a resident there, within a week her health went severely downhill and she passed away. The staff were amazing, myself and other brothers, sisters and partners ,nieces and nephew were there her last week 24/7 the staff couldn’t do enough for us and the Rosemount staff team and management are second to none. Thank you so much Rosemount xx

Have had difficulty with my husband being in care, like anywhere it’s not perfect. Without exception the staff are caring and give their all, it has been hard for them to watch in the current situation, they are tired but still smiling. They care with affection and patience. I feel they are like my
family now and look upon them as friends as well. The management are approachable and you are able to discuss your worries and fears.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.853)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.853) out of 10 for Rosemount Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.028 for Rosemount Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (76 Excellents x 5) + (70 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) + (9 Poors x 2) + (15 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 178 Ratings = 4.028
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Rosemount Care Home is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
