We used Dolphin View Care Home for end-of-life care for my relative and they were fantastic from my first enquiry right through to the hospital discharge. Unfortunately my relative was only at the home a very short time, but during that time they were treated with dignity and respect, which we are so
thankful for. The home has beautiful sea views, a friendly and committed staff team and a good range of activities on offer.

My grandmother was a resident of the carehome for approx two years. she was treated beautifully by all staff and me and my family could not be happier with the services provided. all the staff treated my grandmother like their own, and without a shadow of a doubt saw her as not only a client but a best
friend. due to her dementia, she could be very challenging at times, but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate to her needs, meaning she did not have to be sent to a specialist facility, which would have altered her precious routine, strip her from familiar surroundings that provided her with comfort, and kept her near family. I cannot praise the staff enough, and it meant so much to the family seeing so many of them attend her funeral, such personalised care, allowing us to go about our days comfortably knowing she was being so brilliantly cared for up until the very end. Thank you dolphin view for all you have done
Reply from Kelly Lockhart, Home Manager at Dolphin View Care HomeThank you so much for your lovely review.
It was an absolute privilege to care for your grandmother. She was such a wonderful lady and is missed every single day by everyone here. I still find myself expecting to see her whenever I go upstairs, which is a testament to the special place she holds in our hearts.
I hope you and all your family are keeping well. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and for allowing us to be part of your grandmother's journey.

Full marks to the staff at South Bebside. They are so proactive in marking celebrations for the benefit of the residents. Thank you for all your hard work and for supporting my brother.

P.s. just visited since I wrote the last review. My brother's room was spotlessly clean. Everything in his toilet

are was neat and tidy and well stocked.

I can tell by his demeanour and his overall appearance that he is well cared for and is happy with his new surroundings. Great feedback from the manager today. She is doing a sterling job-many thanks.

The staff at the care home have been exceptional during this difficult family time. It was my mothers 80th birthday in February and I spoke to management to say I was concerned through absence (holidays) and other family members ill health that the birthday may not be the celebration we/she would like.
They went over and beyond in my eyes what they needed to do and she has the most wonderful birthday. They listen, care and proactive and that's all I can ask.
Reply from Charlotte Shiels, Manager at South Quay Care HomeIt was a pleasure to spend her birthday with her she had an amazing day and the residents she chose to go out with her enjoyed it just as much she did. I will pass your comments on to the staff team.

South Bebside Care Home

Our sister required emergency residential care following the sudden death of her husband who had been her full time carer and she moved into South Bebside. Helen was only 63 at the time and the wonderful staff at South Bebside took great care and quality time to get to know Helen to enable them to meet
all her needs. Helen lived at South Bebside for over two years and was very happy there. The staff are a close team and communicate effectively with each other to ensure residents and their families are happy and cared for in a safe and compassionate manner.

All people in all roles from managers, carers, receptionist, activities coordinator, kitchen staff, housekeeping and handyman are welcoming and enthusiastic to make South Bebside a homely environment for the residents.

Escalation of concerns for my sister during illness or injury from falls was very good and we felt informed and kept up to date at all times.

A big thank you to all at South Bebside

My mum went to South Bebside on respite over a 18 months ago. It was quite clear she needed help for more than a few weeks. She's made it her new home. The staff are brilliant and have all been there a long time. I think this shows how happy the staff are to be there. They care for mum so well. Nothing
is too much trouble: the meals are amazing. She even gets served breakfast in bed. It's like a 5*hotel and that's exactly where she thinks she's living..

My brother, 56, moved into Lowgate Nursing Home, struggling with motor neurone disease. The staff at Lowgate are fantastic. I cannot praise them highly enough. From the cleaners, care staff, kitchen staff, office staff, to event/activity staff. They were incredibly kind to my brother and looked after
him brilliantly.

I have just finished my two weeks respite at South Quay Carehome and I was appalled by the service provided. I am a C3/C4 spinal patient and I required some respite and one incident while I was there caused me to suffer an AD due to lack of due diligence. Another thing I would like to state was the
lack of information about my condition was passed onto the members of staff so did not know how to provide the correct care that I require I.E moving and handling I needed but they all tried their best with instructions from myself. The bed care was atrocious, the menu was mostly cafe style food which included pastries and puddings was not ideal for a diabetic.
All in all a let down. I was offered another week due to the room I was in being free still but however I would not stay there again. My advice stay clear.

My Mam was a resident at South Quay for just under 4 years.
Her room wasn't very big but more than adequate for her needs.
As her illness progressed and she stopped recognising family she always had a big smile for the staff who we found to be friendly and approachable.
When the end came everyone
was so kind and the dignity shown to Mam was much appreciated.
Thank you

Our family friend has been loving at Lowgate for almost two months and we have been very happy with the way he is cared for and the happy relationships between all the different members of staff and the residents as well as the general family atmosphere. Our friend is bed ridden and suffering from late
stage dementia but the view of the gardens from his window means he is able to make a connection with the outside world and the wildlife in the trees and on the lawns. The location of Lowgate, so close to Hexham, yet in the countryside, suits really well. Thank you to everyone.
