Springfield House

My father was taking into Springfield initially as respite care. They were very welcoming and the manager said her door was always open. Saw her that day and never again. My father struggled whilst there but due to his negative ways we dismissed things at first, such as losing his medication, not giving correct medication, not attending for him to use the commode in time etc. He actually ended up in pads due to this and started to lose the will. He was so unhappy. We started to find out for ourselves that they would continually lie and twist stories to cover their backs, even to social services. Issues were highlighted by the hospice care workers we involved and social services who they tried not to encourage visiting. The home nit once communicated with us or told us of issues and told us we probably wouldnt get a call if he deteriorated as "they usually just find them dead" there are too many things to list here but dad passed two weeks ago and tge end of life "care" was disgusting

My husband has been in Springfield House Care Home for 4 months on the Nursing Unit. I have been impressed with the care that he has received, he was admitted on 'end of life - palliative care' and his general health is now stable. The staff have worked well getting to know him and his individual character, likes/dislikes and are pro-active in his care needs. All staff are welcoming and I have had no problem around issues of concern.

I absolutely wouldnt want him to be anywhere else .

Overall we are very happy and grateful with the care given here.

The staff at Springfield House are always very welcoming when we visit my mother. They are very kind to my mom and understand her needs. They provide foods that she requests (and she does have some unusual requests). My mom has settled in well and is well looked after.

Love the way staff interact with my sister ball games music bingo lots of lovely things I would like to mention Louise she is so welcoming I love all the staff there but see Louise mostly thank you

The expense of the room she is using is draining on her finances. We would like to be considered for a smaller room with en-suite facilities if one becomes available.

My Mum has been in Springfield House since May 2025. It has not been an easy time,due to Mums dementia but staff have strived to ensure that all Mums needs have been met and any problems have been addressed. Mum is treated with dignity and staff go above and beyond to help Mum and the other residents.There are activities daily and Mum has been involved and enjoyed these but it's her choice if she becomes involved.There have been external people visiting to entertain the residents and all residents are given the opportunity to join in . I've had good feed back from either people who have had residents in Springfield House or have experienced the home themselves,this was after Mum became a resident . I feel no worries or concerns regarding Mums care or leaving Mum as there is only me to visit and I cannot always get there ,but I know she is safe and cared for and I know I will be contacted if any changes occur or just to ensure I'm aware of what's taking place .

The facility is first class, staff very friendly and helpful. Everywhere very clean and tidy. Would recommend to everyone who requires the service.

A wonderful caring facility where the staff are a credit to the profession. Our family member was treated with absolute dignity up to the very end and we couldn't have asked for any more.

My mum spent the last six months of her life at Springfield House, I cannot speak highly enough of the care she received from the first day the staff showed exceptional professionalism, compassion and respect. Both to mum and my family, the dignity and kindness was overwhelming and so gratefully appreciated. My mum genuinely enjoyed her time there. I am sincerely grateful to everyone at Springfield House.

I have been well looked after with staff ensuring that I am clean and tidy. Staff will always check and support my comfort when required.

My aunty had been at the home for about 6 years and all the time she was treated with respect and dignity. We were kept informed of any issues and always felt welcomed when we visited. Her needs were all taken care of and I was more than happy with the care and nursing she received during her time there.

My expeince with my mother is very good and the home is very good with my mum. Food is good and her room is very good and tidy.

My uncle came to Springfield House for end of life care on Christmas Eve from hospital. The care given to him and support to not only him but me as next of kin has been incredible. Every step of dignity was given during his stay here was done with care and compassion right up to the end. From management, nurses, care team and excellent communication, nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Springfield House.

Highly recommended. Professional, caring, lovely, respectful, helpful, lovely people who cared for my mum during the final few months of her life. Also exceptionally caring to me and my wife during this psychically and emotionally challenging time. We will be forever grateful.

My husband was taken to Springfield House directly from the hospital for palliative care. It has been amazing. He had not been out of bed for 14 weeks, but he had only been there two days and they managed to hoist him into a wheelchair. We all sat outside with him and had a cup of coffee. It was such a lift for his spirits. Can't praise Springfield enough - his final days are going to be peaceful and cared for.

The guitarist playing for residents today was brilliant, not only was his playing very good but he interacted with residents who were clapping and tapping to the music. Everyone had a lovely time.
