I am writing this review for the care my uncle receives at Springfield care home.
My uncle has been in the nursing side of the home for a number of years now and i am truly grateful for all the love and care he is given . I honestly do not think he could be in a better place.
Recently he was taken poorly with pneumonia and the quick response from the nursing team got him to hospital promptly and treated .
He returned to his care home to be continued to be looked after by all the wonderful staff. I cant thank them enough for making my uncle feel safe , loved and cared for.
The staff know him and take time to speak to him even though he can not now communicate very well at all.

I absolutely wouldnt want him to be anywhere else .

Reply from kirsty price, ROM at Springfield House

Thank you very much for such lovely feedback, it is a pleasure to support your uncle.

My mother has been looked after wonderfully for over four years here.
She enjoys the food and eats well. Drinks are readily available.
The doctor goes in every week and residents can see them if necessary.
There is some sort of activity or entertainment daily if the residents can be persuaded to join in. The Carers are loving and respectful to my Mum.
Her room could be better equipped ie nicer curtains and bedlinen. As the building is so old its also quirky and sometimes the heating and hot water doesnt reach certain parts. However the staff do everything to make this work and Mum seems happy and comfortable in her room as far as Im aware. Only issue is if the lift breaks, which has done several times during Mums stay. The home should have priority call out for repairs, this is not the homes fault however.

Overall we are very happy and grateful with the care given here.

The staff at Springfield House are always very welcoming when we visit my mother. They are very kind to my mom and understand her needs. They provide foods that she requests (and she does have some unusual requests). My mom has settled in well and is well looked after.

J. is very happy at Springfield House. We are very satisfied with the level of care provided by the staff. She especially enjoys the meals provided.

The expense of the room she is using is draining on her finances. We would like to be considered for a smaller room with en-suite facilities if one becomes available.

My Mum has been in Springfield House since May 2025. It has not been an easy time, due to Mums dementia but staff have strived to ensure that all Mums needs have been met and any problems have been addressed. Mum is treated with dignity and staff go above and beyond to help Mum and the other residents. There are activities daily and Mum has been involved and enjoyed these but it's her choice if she becomes involved. There have been external people visiting to entertain the residents and all residents are given the opportunity to join in . I've had good feed back from either people who have had residents in Springfield House or have experienced the home themselves, this was after Mum became a resident . I feel no worries or concerns regarding Mums care or leaving Mum as there is only me to visit and I cannot always get there ,but I know she is safe and cared for and I know I will be contacted if any changes occur or just to ensure I'm aware of what's taking place .

My mum spent the last six months of her life at Springfield House, I cannot speak highly enough of the care she received from the first day the staff showed exceptional professionalism, compassion and respect. Both to mum and my family, the dignity and kindness was overwhelming and so gratefully appreciated. My mum genuinely enjoyed her time there. I am sincerely grateful to everyone at Springfield House.

My uncle came to Springfield House for end of life care on Christmas Eve from hospital. The care given to him and support to not only him but me as next of kin has been incredible. Every step of dignity was given during his stay here was done with care and compassion right up to the end. From management, nurses, care team and excellent communication, nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend Springfield House.

My husband was taken to Springfield House directly from the hospital for palliative care. It has been amazing. He had not been out of bed for 14 weeks, but he had only been there two days and they managed to hoist him into a wheelchair. We all sat outside with him and had a cup of coffee. It was such a lift for his spirits. Can't praise Springfield enough - his final days are going to be peaceful and cared for.

I am very happy my mom is in this care home. She is receiving the best possible care I could hope for. My mom is very poorly, and is being cared for by the most kind, helpful staff. Every consideration is given to ensuring she is comfortable.

My father has been a resident at Springfield House since April 2021. Since day one the team have been quite amazing. I am not going to say that everything is 100% perfect - I don't believe any place can be - it is true that in places the building needs investment but the ladies and gentlemen who make up the core care team are so kind, so caring, so patient, the standards set by the residential manager are exceptional and her team follow her lead. I would recommend Springfield wholeheartedly.
