Cedar Grange is a Cherry Burton care home set in picturesque grounds in a tranquil area that suits the needs of those requiring elderly care, as well as with physical disabilities and/or dementia.

An eighteenth-century listed building, Cedar Grange has been purposely converted into a care accommodation in which residents can achieve a relaxing lifestyle and a good sense of personal independence.

To the rear of the main building sits The Lodge, an 8 bedroom purpose built unit which is designed to provide accommodation and care to those with greater mobility and independence.

Cedar Grange has recently constructed a large patio overlooking the grounds of the home with a greenhouse and raised planters for residents' use.

Reviews

9.7 Cedar Grange has a Review Score of 9.7 (9.657)

The Review Score of 9.7 (maximum of 10) for Cedar Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Cedar Grange in Google's Search Results - more info

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.

    The Average Rating of 4.657 for Cedar Grange is calculated as follows: ( (75 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.657

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.

    2. 1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.

The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cedar Grange is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:

    1. 3 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 4

    2. Target of 6.2 positive Reviews (31 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 8 Reviews ÷ 6.2 Target Reached = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

My mother has been a resident for 2 and a half years and I am happy with her care. The staff are friendly and helpful and very caring for the residents. My mother enjoys the food and looks forward to meal times. The atmosphere in the home when I visit is pleasant and calm. It is always clean. The patio garden is nice to sit out in during the summer months.

My mum has been in this home nearly 7 years suffering from dementia which is now advanced and has always been well looked after.
The staff treat the residents with empathy and are friendly and easy to approach.
They keep you informed of the resident's condition on a frequent basis, in between visits.

I cannot fault the care, staff, facilities or anything in this home; any minor issues are dealt with promptly! All the residents appear settled in a care home environment. Yes, the rooms could be bigger and more modern, but it is a former vicarage, not a purpose built care home.
The staff are friendly and caring; taking the time to speak and interact with residents whilst doing their job. They have the patience of saints dealing with the more "difficult" ones.

My mum has been at Cedar Grange for 3 years and she is very happy. She is so well looked after. The food is excellent. The home and rooms are immaculate and smell lovely. All her clothes are washed and ironed and the staff make sure she is well dressed. All the staff are efficient and very kind and caring to all the residents. You can visit at any time (except lunch/tea time) and go into any area which is very important as you do not feel anything is hidden away. Well done to everyone at Cedar Grange.

My Mum has been at Cedar Grange for 2 1/2 years. She has dementia and is quite frail. The staff at the home provide care and attention in a dignified manner to her needs. Our family is kept up to date on her medication and we are always immediately informed, day or night if anything happens to her. The quality of the rooms and food are to a good standard.

When I visit my mother I have always found the staff to be courteous and attentive. The home is always staffed well and clean and tidy. I have seen several activities with residents who wish to join in whether it be playing bingo, hoops or quizzes. There does not appear to be a high turnover of staff especially supervisors. All in all, I am very pleased with the care my mother is receiving and would recommend the home to others who require such a facility.

The loving care shown to my mum is wonderful. The care staff go beyond the word, if I had picked the staff myself I could not have chosen better. My mum had both hips replaced while in the home and the loving nursing at the home pulled her through. Brilliant staff, brilliant food, brilliant hygiene.
