We as a family are pleased to see our mum so happy and content to be a resident here. The staff are very kind and hardworking. Mum enjoys all the events on offer and we are grateful that she is so well looked after. Many thanks.

When mum arrived at Southern House she was quiet ill and bedridden initially she went downhill but since being here she has gone from strength to strength. Through the interaction of the staff and the care she is now able to hold a good conversation she is also able to recognise many more people.

Service users always seem happy & well cared for. Visitors/relatives are always made to feel welcome. Staff very caring & accommodating. Patients/service users wishes are always taken into consideration. Special events are always catered for. Service users are made to feel like they are pat of a big happy family.

Everyone is polite and my mum's room is clean. The premises smells fresh and the main area and lounge is well kept. My mum eats well and is in the main lounge area on the days she feels up to it. It's very bright environment which I feel is important.

As a family, we are very pleased with the loving care and attention our mother receives at Southern House. There are numerous activities to stimulate the residents throughout the year, many are supported by the families which we also enjoy. The food provided is nutritious and home cooked and always fresh. In my mothers words 'the place is always clean and tidy'

Every time I visit, staff all friendly and welcoming. Facilities are soon, rooms clean, residents seem happy. I am old food is good. Plenty of seating down stairs TVs on downstairs for residents.

I have no worries at all about Southern House. We are really happy that my mother is living here. No problem x

My husband has complex disabilities, staff have really tried to meet his needs, especially the activities co-ordinator. She has worked with his interests and also taken into account that he is totally blind & ensuring he takes part in activities as much as possible. Overall, staff are courteous and respectful of residents and their families. Issues are quickly resolved and the management team are very good at resolving problems quickly. I've had a couple of issues, each time I've expressed my concerns they've been dealt with quickly and efficiently. I do feel that the biggest problem is that they do seem to be short staffed on a regular basis and this does impact on care sometimes, though all staff try their best to meet residents care needs. Food overall is excellent, but being without a chef at weekends does impact on what food is available at the tea time meal, especially in meeting food preferences. Overall, we are happy with care given at Southern House.

My Mother was this week transfered to Southern House from a Care Home in Llandudno. On arrival at Southern House she was made to feel welcome. Staff gave her a cup of tea and introduced themselves. Discussed Lunch to ensure it was something she likes. So far nothing but praise for the Staff and facilities. Mother has settled in quickly and feels relaxed and at Home. Well done and thank you.

Mom was unable to cope with care at home so she became a resident in 2018 and was here for approx 7 years. My main concern was that she be safe and take her meds, but she got so much more at Southern House. The staff all gave her so much care and affection and it gave all of us so much peace of mind to know she was looked after so well. Big thank you from all of us.

Activities offered are great and extremely valuable to my mum's well-being and mental health. One member of staff, in particular, is great - I hope the activities continue. Other staff are great too, along with the manager. Room improvements have been slow, along with standard of room. Do worry how my mum is in her room on her own - what stimulation she has.

Settled in well after initial minor problems. Most have been resolved satisfactorily. Care is very good, care staff treat my husband with dignity and empathy. He feels safe and loved by the people who work there.

I was very happy with the care my partner received. The staff always friendly and helpful, and even welcomed my partner's dog.

I am very happy with the care and kindness my wife receives. She has complex needs and relies solely on the staff for everything and I am more than happy to leave her in their care when I leave my visit with her. Although in recent years life has been difficult for both of us, without the care of all the staff at Southern House shown to my wife we couldn't feel as confident as we do. Thank you all for the care and compassion you give her.

This care home is like home from home. The staff is like family and all residents in my personal opinion are always smiling and seem very happy. I visit at different times of the day and it always looks well organised and tidy and my dad has settled in well.

From the moment Mum went to Southern House the level of care she received was excellent. All of the staff were caring, friendly and knowledgeable. Mum was treated with absolute respect and dignity. Southern House was always spotlessly clean, warm and smelled fresh. When Mum was at the end of her life, all of the staff were simply wonderful with her. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and Mum’s care couldn’t have been any better. All the members of staff that I had dealings with were completely wonderful. I’m delighted with the level of care Mum received.
