View Full Details of Parc Wern Care HomeI was devastated when my husband had to be taken from hospital and put into a nursing home. The realisation I was unable to care for him anymore was unbearable. All I can say is, if you are in a similar situation you need not worry about the care your loved one will receive. The carers and all support staff I interact with are absolutely fabulous. My husband is kept clean and as comfortable as possible. He eats reasonably well as the food is good and there is quite a variety. The new manager is superb and extremely dedicated to the efficient running of the home and care of his patients. All I can do is give praise to Parc Wren. Thank you!
I live nearby and I visit very often. Staff are kind, helpful and willing to go the extra mile with positive interactions. Engaging activities, e.g. dog, music therapy. Mum, 94, is treated with dignity. Strong visible management in running the home. The manager, a Welsh learner, has a passion for caring for residents. Staff are trained, competent, with ongoing training. The home is safe, clean, with a comfortable environment. My mum appreciated the flexibility at eating times. A person-centred care approach. Safety protocols are in place, as well as healthcare/GP access. The home provides good food. The nurses 24/7 are approachable, many with "super clinical skills". Always a warm welcome! The home has recently had a facelift, new reception, paintings, a sensory garden, including a veranda, and new flooring. Making the home more appealing. I highly recommend.
It was heartbreaking when we were unable to to care for my dad at home it's one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do. Firstly I looked online for nursing homes in a 30 mile radius of where I live, I knew what my dad needed to be comfortable and happy so narrowed it down to 3 possible nursing homes and went to visit them after I came out of 2 of them in tears and not because they weren't suitable but I felt very alone then I arrived at Park Wern all staff were so welcoming I was introduced to to everyone including some of the residents the manager talked me through the process they were so welcoming I went back and forth a few times in the following weeks and I was made to feel comfortable and at ease they answered all my concerns. I visit my dad most days and have come to know the staff and residents. They have got to know and understand my dad and are respectful he's not just a number it feels more like an extension of our family and friends they even check that I'm ok.
Didn't know what to expect when my mother was taken in, but I can honestly say that any fears I had were quickly dispersed. The care the staff demonstrate is absolutely fantastic. They treat my mother with love and dignity. I couldn't be happier, and the quality of food is nothing like the horror stories sometimes reported. There is plenty of choice and all looks fantastic. Well done everyone and thanks.
The resident is very well looked after and his mobility has improved since he has been at Park Wern. His good appetite is well catered for and attention is given to his personal care. All staff show care and respect for him.
A pleasure to visit Park Wren always. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They are so willing and helpful. A big thank you to them all. The chips leave a lot to be desired. Puddings are good.
My father suffers from vascular dementia and has come to regard Parc Wern as his home. As I live 200 miles away but visit regularly, I am also made to feel extremely welcome when I visit. I keep in daily contact with my father and even when he has difficult days, I am always reassured that he is being well cared for and treated with dignity and respect. There is an empathy from the staff that care for him which is noticeable, and there is a welcoming feeling as soon as you enter the home. All of the staff are professional and very approachable. A tribute to the management of the home. Many thanks for taking such good care of Dad.
My mother really enjoys her experience at Parc Wern, although she has experienced a lot of illnesses due to her disability/stroke and maybe her age (98) recently, the quality of care has helped her feel happy in herself and has recovered from her ailments. With several concerts and sing-a-long, my mother enjoys anticipating with them. The carers seem to make time to listen as well as care for the residents, so they all know her life history. We, as a family, are hoping to continue this quality of life for her.
I visited my uncle on Monday and was so pleased to see him settled and looking so good. The family atmosphere and concern of the staff was a joy to see. The staff are so approachable that it makes it easy for my aunt to visit her husband every day and she always comes away knowing he is in the best hands. Ten out of ten to you all.
My husband has been a resident in Parc Wren since August 2017. I visit him every day and I am made as welcome now as I was on my first visit by the manager and staff who are truly exceptional. The care they give to my husband, the reassurance if he's unhappy or agitated and other residents alike and dare I say it, the love that radiates from everyone is heartwarming. Thank you.
During my visits to Parc Wern it is evident that the staff are very caring and aware of residents needs. They are extremely approachable and readily discuss and reassure us regarding any concerns we may have. My brother always looks content, well groomed and well nourished. It is a great relief to the family knowing that he is being well cared for in view of the very distressing events we have experienced in previous care homes.
I feel very happy with the care my mum receives in this home. She is always happy when I ask her how she is feeling here. The carers are all very friendly and happy to stop and talk. Sometimes the food isn't at all hot.
This setting is so very welcoming to new residents and their families. My mother arrived from another residential home in September 2018. She settled very quickly. The care, both day and night is excellent. The staff work as a team. They can be approached at any time when we have a question and any problems are actioned immediately. The staff very quickly learnt about the needs of my mother, so they can anticipate any difficulties and deal them very quickly. Management is excellent - the manager is aware of everything going on at the setting. It's a very caring, happy and safe place. My mother's needs are completely met, having adapted the caring to meet her changing, more fragile needs in her 98th year. We are lucky to have found Parc Wern for her.
My mother needs caring for and her needs appear to be met at Parc Wern. The layout of the building works very well and though her bedroom is small, it's adequate for what she needs. My mother seems happy most of the time and her health and wellbeing at present are the best they've been for the past 18 months. I put this down to being well cared for. The food is adequate and my mother has been a great cook in the past, so the food she receives now is not comparable to what she used to cook, but she eats enough. The staff are truly impressive and a great, friendly bunch. We would prefer my mother to be in her own home but as this isn't possible Parc Wern is the next best thing.
My overall view of this care home is excellent. My wife has been at Parc Wern for 7months and we have been very happy with the care that she receives.
Our experience of this home has been a very positive one. The staff are exceptionally caring and compassionate, notably not just towards the resident but also towards her visiting partner which is very much appreciated. There is a pleasant family atmosphere and our impression is that it is well run.
Mum is in the secure unit at Parc Wern. During my visits, I am kept up to date with how she is and how she has been. She is treated with dignity and care in what appears to be a sometimes difficult environment for the staff. The staff are conscientious and attentive to all the residents and their needs and always have a smile for both residents and visitors.
Very friendly, accommodating, patient, exceedingly helpful and joyful staff. My aunt absolutely loves being in Parc Wern, I can't ask for better. Gorgeous surroundings and excellent food menu. Treated with dignity and good to have fun with staff members. Loves having her hair done every week and feet when needed. Services are brought to the residents which is invaluable.
Thanks to all at Parc Wern for caring for my father for the last 9 months. All staff were friendly but very professional at all times. My father suffering from dementia was always cared for, for his individual needs. There was always a joke or some song to ease the time. Drinks and snacks were plentiful in between meals. Meals were cooked to his liking and made sure he was eating properly. Thanks.
I have been visiting my sister at Parc Wern for the last 2-3 years and have never ever seen the staff not caring for the residents. The staff here are brilliant from the manager down to the cleaners. I am over the moon for my sister staying at Parc Wern.
