View Full Details of Ty Eirin Care HomeMy partners auntie is a resident at Ty Eirin and I could not be happier with the care that she receives. The staff clearly know her well and have taken the time to do so. She recently lost her husband and the support she received at the time and is continuing to recieve has been incredible. Staff members even attended the funeral on their day off to show support. Managers ensured that she was able to attend the funeral. It is incredibly reassuring to know how well cared for she is.
What a clean & welcoming home from home. I have never seen our friend so settled in any place other than in his own home. Having reluctantly & nervously placed him for respite, we are now considering placement permanently. The care staff on Blue Harbour have been exceptional in the way they communicate with him & have gone out of their way to get to know his little ways. Ty Eirin has filled us with confidence. As a nurse myself, I am not easily impressed, but staff are inspirational in their drive for care & compassion.
What an amazing place Ty Eirin is. I had to make the very difficult decision for my dad to come into this care home for respite care. I have always been determined that I would be the only person to look after dad, but after our experience here, I have decided that this is where I want dad to be cared for permanently. The staff on Blue Harbour are amazing and go above and beyond. They care for Dad just as I would, if not better, and I will be forever grateful to them all.
My mother's granddaughter got married in July the staff were amazing they dressed her done her hair and make up she looked amazing.
My Aunty has recently become a resident at Ty Eirin. I haven't been inside a residential retirement home for many years and was delighted to find my Aunty in a lovely light and airy day room taking part in a quiz. My mother and myself did a little wander to my Aunty's room before finding her and all the staff we encountered were really pleasant and helpful and all were aware of who my Aunty was and where she was likely to be located and directing/taking us to her. Ty Eirin has a friendly, homely feel. The residents rooms looked spacious and clean as did the dining area where we were able to make ourselves and my Aunty a coffee. We were joined by two other residents and all ended up sitting around one table having a chat. It was such a pleasant visit. Thank you.
As anyone who has had to make the agonising/anxious decision to have a loved one move to residential care, it is overwhelming. Ty Eirin Care Home's staff have made such a massive positive impression on our first visit, the true test is how our loved one settled in and is now very happy in their surroundings and the care they receive from the brilliant carers, which in turn makes the rest of the family happy. Thank you.
The staff on the nursing ward were wonderful. 10/10 on the medication. It would improve the health and well-being of patients if the outside gardens were kept better. Especially the garden furniture, which was dirty. My husband was very well looked after there for respite and would go back.
Welcoming staff and good care provided. Grandfather is always well cared for, well dressed and happy.
I visit a lady at Ty Eirin daily, and at different times of the day . When I arrive at reception I'm greeted with a friendly smile & wave. The staff on Rest Bay are always friendly and welcoming , they try to encourage everyone to participate in the many activities provided . The laundry is collected daily and returned the next day . The lady I visit has told me many times that the staff are very kind and look after her well.
I am very pleased with the care my wife is receiving. All staff are most friendly and professional in their duties. I would add that this friendliness extends to myself as well and nothing is too much trouble.
Floor and bed table not always clean. Often no tissues left out for use, I guess cost saving. On cold days often have to request extra blanket from staff. Weekends- drink and meals not always served at the same time, I guess down to staffing. Otherwise staff are very friendly and helpful. Dentist suggested that staff help out with dental care, this seems to have fallen by the wayside.
First time visit on Wednesday, staff were friendly and helpful, home was spotlessly clean, while we were there the fire alarms went off, the staff were very professional, they kept calm and reassured the residents, the staff took their assigned places. All in all excellent.
The level of care and attention staff provide to residents is clearly high. The units I've seen are in good condition, well kept and adequately staffed. On a regular basis, there are activities to engage residents and get out of their rooms, which I know my relative gets benefit from. I'm also glad of the events like the summer fayre that bring relatives into Ty Eirin - they seem like something different and a nice opportunity for the community around the care home to come together.
We, as a family, were really concerned making the decision to move Dad from care at home to residential care but knew it was the right decision. We should not have had any concern, the management, the carers, the cleaners, the catering and maintenance with Ty Eirin Care Home are all so hardworking, with the residents at the heart of what they do. Dad's transition was as smooth as can be but the continued interaction with Dad and us, as a family, for care and support with buckets of empathy is outstanding. Thank you for all you do.
I immediately liked this home from the first visit, staff are amazing and so much support to me as well as my mother. I can't thank them enough for just being there when needed, let alone the effort they put into helping to get my mother into the home. The home smells lovely whenever we visit, it doesn't have that typical nursing home smell. It's comfortable, relaxing and clean. Would highly recommend it to anyone. To make a decision to place a loved one in a nursing/residential home is one of the hardest things you will ever have to do, but the staff make the journey a lot easier. So thank you.
Mum suffered an Ischaemic Stroke and was rendered paralysed from the neck down. Ty Eirin staff put her in a room next to the nurse station because she could not call out or ring a bell for attention if she needed it. We were told at the stroke unit that Mam would probably not last a week, but here she is, six years later, being pampered by the incredibly kind staff at Ty Eirin. I believe she would not still be with us if her care had not been so good. She came to love the staff and all the workers. She can now move her left hand from the wrist though she is still paralysed, deformed with awful arthritis and bed-bound. Cannot communicate by speaking but the staff have learned to understand what she wants. I had no idea that there were nursing homes as clean and ergonomically run, as Ty Eirin is. Even the gardens are lovely in the summer. This is my thanks to all involved, from the main office manager to the laundry staff that clean her clothes. I am truly grateful.
My Dad is in Ty Eirin in Thomastown Tonyrefail, Harbour Health Care He has been there two years, we are very pleased with his care we have no complaints the staff are very good. My dad is well looked after, he eats well.
My grandfather came to Ty Eirin at the end of July and he's settled really well on Seaview. Staff are all friendly and make sure all his needs are met on a daily basis while treating him with care and dignity, he has up and down days but staff are always there to comfort and reassure him and let him know they are always there when he needs them. They like to encourage him to get involved in different activities with the activity team, my grandfather has made many friends on Seaview with the residents and staff and always loves to have a chat and joke with them. Me and my family are really happy with care he receives and seeing how happy and settled he has become. We are kept informed with any health related problems and any updates. We love to see photos of him on the Ty Eirin page when they have artists in their day center and taking part in all different activities and having day out trips.
I would like to thank all the staff and carers for taking care of Mam while she was at Ty Eirin. Sadly, she passed away at the home on the 9th of June 2024, after a battle with dementia. I have to say that the palliative and then the end-of-life care was particularly excellent. The advice and support during a very difficult time was wonderful. Thank you so much. I have previously made a statement about the situation with the phones at the home, there is an issue that when you phone you are passed back and forth between different floors and you are not able to get to the extension you need. This happens mostly at night, but does happen during the day as well. A direct number for each floor could rectify this problem maybe, just a suggestion. This problem hopefully will be solved for future residents and their families. Overall my rating of Ty Eirin is 5/5 and I would recommend the home to any future prospective resident. Thanks again for all you did for Mam.
Mam has been at the home for 10 months, it's been amazing from the start but in the last 3 months she has been her happiest, not sure why but it makes me so happy to see how she is. She thinks she works there, so she is happy to do daily chores of dishes, clearing tables etc. and helping all the residents and staff. Mam thinks shes in charge of the canteen, her old job, everyone goes with whatever ever job role she is in that day but all I really want is for someone to be kind and speak nicely to her which she gets every day and always looks well presented when I visit which is a lot. Her room is always spotless and has nice food and loves it when there is a singer or concert. I can't ask for more, thank you Ty Eirin.
