View Full Details of The Court Care HomeThe Court Nursing Home (or Ely Court as called in our family) became home for my mother for the last 10 months of her life. The wonderfully caring and friendly team treated Mum like a member of their own family. Everyone knew her name and gave her so much love and care and, most importantly, gave her their time. The opening of the new garden in May made a real difference and Mum enjoyed the peace, the smells and the quiet places. The home is very professionally run by a dedicated team of people who all work well together and clearly enjoy their roles. We were welcomed as a family to visit at any time and nothing was ever too much trouble. The modern accommodation was very comfortable, with really practical bathrooms and other appropriate furnishings, to make living and mobility as easy as possible, with everything being scrupulously clean. Mum also enjoyed the food, both in choice and quality. We will miss Ely Court but so appreciate all that they did for our wonderful Mum.
I have been here just over 2 birthdays and and it took me about 2 years ti get used to it but I am slowly getting more confident in my out took and I find it very enjoyable now and I am really regular and was saying to the person who has just stated that if she needs help just please ask!
The home have been fantastic caring for mum over the last 4 years with her dementia. I found all the staff to be caring for my mother to a high level. Also their genuine care & concern for their residents impressed me far more than just them doing "their jobs" as it were. When I've had queries, they have always given me their full attention & support despite their heavy work loads. Examples help to demonstrate this 1. My father visited Mum twice a week & they always supported him as well to make the most of their time together. They would allow them to have some quality time & to eat together. 2. They recently celebrated their 70th anniversary & my sister & I were given the opportunity to use a room to have a celebration with family & friends which was really appreciated. 3. My father once had an issue with his walking aid & she kindly arranged for a workman on site to do a temporary fix on it. Thank you again so much for caring for Mum whilst she was in your care!
My Dad spent his last few days at Ely Court Care Home. I was so grateful for the wonderful care that he received be it just for a short while. I cannot fault any part of the overall experience. Thank you to all the staff.
We are very lucky we found this place for my brother 18 months ago when he was deteriorating with a neurological condition. The care he has received has been exceptional. The staff are amazing and all of them seem to be glad to work there and there's very little staff turnover. My brother took a long time to adjust to the change when he moved to Ely Court (due in part to his condition) but is now genuinely happy there and doesn't hesitate to say it's his home. The activities programme is impressive and now 7 days a week, and my brother is happy to join in those activities he likes but also content to entertain himself in his room at other times. When the new garden is complete this will make quite a difference for my brother because if there's any criticism it's the lack of exercise available to him (as an adult in his 50s) and I'm sure circuits of the new garden will become part of his routine once it's finished.
It's difficult to describe how good Ely Court Care Home is. Every single member of staff has a very warm, welcoming and friendly manner towards residents and their family and friends. Real effort is made to create a happy, supportive environment for all and those efforts have really paid off in creating what must be the model for excellent care homes everywhere. Myself and family will never be able to thank all the staff for everything that they do for mum to enable her to be happy and have fun and laughter in her life after what has been a very difficult time for her. I thank my lucky stars that we found you!
Our mother has resided in Ely Court Care Home for the last 18 months. The home caters to her needs with total care and respect from ALL of the staff. Our mother has said on many occasions how safe she feels. Her room is extremely comfortable and modern. Having a specific dietary choice, the catering staff make every effort to make her meals not only nutritious, but delicious too. There is always a warm welcome from every aspect of the staffing and they all know our mother's likes and dislikes. The home is kept spotlessly clean throughout and always smells so fresh. Our mother is immobile, but despite this, Ely Court are wonderful at including her in their many events and activities due to the fact that they have all the machinery required to enable this. If any family members have any queries, these are answered without delay. The home is run extremely well, professionally and with dignity. After looking at many other care homes prior, we find Ely Court provides everything our mother needs.
My mother has been fiercely independent all her life, so having to accept that she was no longer safe to live alone was a bitter pill for her to swallow, however with their care and understanding all the staff at Ely Court have made this so much easier for her, with plenty of activities and stimulation, she no longer feels lonely, and as her daughter it is wonderful to come and visit and see her so content, warm, clean and well fed. I don't think I can single one or two members of staff out for praise as they are all wonderful and I am so pleased that mum is in their care.
My mother was at Ely Court Care Home from January 2023 till, September 2023, it was a constant battle, to get the best care, and our hearts are broken as to what happened to our darling mother at the end of her life, we are still fighting it today. Look at all the 5-star ratings that's not right, no one has all those 5-star ratings unless that's all they will put up, I wonder if they'll put this review on their website. I give them 1 star.
A year ago today, my husband was transferred to Ely Court. He had been in hospital for 8 months, he had complex needs. I cannot fault the care he received there, and also the support I was given. Sadly he passed away on December 12th 2023. I cannot thank the staff enough, R.I.P.
This is a very caring and supportive home. The attitude of the staff is "can do" and they are led from the top by a very able, professional and caring leader.
The carers all care for the people in the residence, nothing is too much trouble. They always ask what dad would like to eat whether a snack or a main meal. They carry out regular checks on health and well-being. They do breathing checks at night. There is always someone who can answer a question if you have one. Most of the carers are local so when Dad starts to talk about the area they know what he is talking about even if it was a while ago. Can not ask for a better place for my father to stay in.
I just wanted to thank all the staff that was involved with my beautiful Mum's care. Mum was very happy and well looked after, Mum made so many friends and made such an impact. From the bottom of my heart thank you. Mum's final days were spent with her daughters by her side, the care she received was exceptional.
Ely Court is an excellent care home and so clean. The staff are absolutely amazing and so welcoming and friendly. The care he receives is wonderful. I could not ask for a better care home for my grampy. Thank you so much to all those at Ely Court.
The staff are lovely and caring and friendly, the place is nice and cosy. The bathrooms in the rooms are really clean and tidy. They look after my mum really well and she seems happy here. The rooms are lovely and spacious.
We are so happy that our mother resides in Ely Court. This care home exceeds all expectations for anyone with a loved one in care. Wonderful, caring staff. Excellent staff. Cleanliness. And a very positive atmosphere.
I cannot recommend Ely Court enough when my mother came here she was very anxious but the staff and manager were brilliant and settled her in. So much so that my daughter got married 8th of August and because my mother was not able to come they allowed us to come in after the wedding in our outfits to show her whilst other residents were invited and supplied a cake and wine to celebrate. All the staff are great and can't do enough to make sure her stay is as comfortable as possible.
I was a resident for 3 months whilst waiting for a home care package to be arranged. The overall standard was excellent and I would recommend Ely Court to anyone considering a care home for long or short-term use. There is a strong management team with professional and sympathetic support staff. The rooms are modern and of a high standard whilst the building is of historical interest. The outdoor space and garden is currently being refurbished and will be an additional asset when completed.
My father has been at Ely Court since December 2020. We were in lockdown and couldn’t see him before he went there. When dad arrived, the manager was waiting with the phone for me to speak to him as she knew how worried I was. This is one example of the many thoughtful things the manager and all the staff do. When I saw dad’s room I couldn’t believe it. It’s beautiful with a wonderful shower room and lots of cupboard space. The home is immaculate and a lovely building. Dad is so very happy there. My family and I know he is in safe hands and is well cared for by very thoughtful people. We are kept informed always about what is going on at the home. We phone every day to speak to him. The amazing receptionist is always helpful and kind. The manager, the receptionist, and all the girls, we can’t thank you enough.
Mam's stay at the care home was very good considering the covid situation. When we were able to see her she was always clean, tidy, and looked well looked after having her hair done, etc. Mam was treated with dignity in her final days at the home. The staff were always accomodating and professional.
