View Full Details of Quarry Hall Care HomeSince my mum was made a permanent resident I cannot fault her stay here. Mum has thrived since being here. Mum thoroughly enjoys the themed activities and all the acts that you have to come in to visit e.g singers etc. Mum has come out of her shell since being here she has made new friends with the residents and also the staff. Mum isn't too keen on the food but expresses this quite often which is comical as mum used to work in catering for many years and is very fussy on presentation.
We visited 5 care homes looking for a suitable placement for a 97 year old lady with dementia, deafness and continence issues. Quarry Hall was our choice. We were impressed from the start by the welcoming atmosphere and the feeling that this was a "home" where auntie could be happy. The staff were informative, friendly, welcoming, happy and at the same time professional. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and soon "personalised" with familiar possessions from home. We have been made very welcome and "Auntie " has settled in and is happy and making new friend. We're happy that she has a clean, healthy, happy, secure home where she's well looked after. She's stimulated by the presence of other residents - company is something sadly missing before Quarry Hall.
Staff always on hand to assist residents when assistance is required. The premises always clean and tidy including residents room and communal areas.
Our mum needed to be looked after by professional dementia carers. To my belief she is being looked after and cared for at Quarry Hall. She is comfy, warm, fed and entertained. Staff are always pleasant, happy and professional to mum and her family.
Mum is being looked after in a pleasant, warm atmosphere. She is happy so that makes me happy
Nan has settled in so well at Quarry Hall. The staff have ensured that her emergency placement was as smooth a transition as possible. She has decided to stay as a full time resident. Four members of staff in particular have all stood out when ever I have visited. Photos of activities have shown nan genuinely happy and engaged. Communication between the care staff, office staff and us a s the family has been excellent. Thank you so much for taking such good care of my Nan.
I find that the staff are very caring, professional and interact with the residents in making them feel it is their home.
I cannot speak highly enough about the care my husband received at Quarry Hall. He was bed-bound due to severe Alzheimers, was incontinent and needed to be fed. Nothing was too much for the lovely nurses and carers. They soon got used to my husband's little ways and treated him like a friend. The nurses had a very strict adherence to quality of care and noticed every small thing. The carers were also very good feeding back to the nurses. If we had any queries, they were acted upon and resolved immediately. We had tried other care homes for my husband but were bitterly disappointed. It was a completely different experience at Quarry Hall. My husband recently passed away. The staff handled this with professionalism and empathy for both my husband and my family. A particular member of staff goes above and beyond her role as clinical lead. I'm sure because of her example, her staff follow suit. I give this review not just as a family member but as a district nursing sister with 30 years of experience.
Fantastic place for my late mother-in-law, she so enjoyed the company of so many new friends both residents and staff. My sister is equally so. Well done to all. Their attitude of the staff is very much can do.
Dad has vascular dementia and recently we were advised (by social services) that he needed to move into a residential care home. Quarry Hall was recommended and close to home. We visited to see for ourselves. First impressions were good and we had no hesitation signing up. The manager and the team on the ground floor are attentive and clearly take pride in their work. They interact appropriately with the differing behaviours from their residents. Communication is good with regular updates. We know he's in safe hands so we can sleep at night without worrying. If you're looking for a care home and Quarry Hall is close, its worth a visit.
Visited my mother over a couple of days. She has been in the home for a few months so still settling in. She seems very happy and says the staff are lovely. They seem very nice whenever I visit. She's a little bored but her memory means that she forgets that she has had activities to do (they happen every weekday). She broke her hip last year (before moving in) and they've encouraged her to walk, which means her walking has improved a lot. There was an issue with another resident when Mum first moved in but was impressed with the good job the staff made of managing the situation. Once the weather improves I hope Mum gets regular opportunities for getting some fresh air.
My brother has good quality care both in physical and emotional terms. His needs are very well met. His health is monitored and GP accessed if necessary and his medication administrated appropriately. My brother has capacity so is able to give his views to staff about his care and is always listened to. This is important because of his ability to implement things in his life due to his failing health. Staff are respectful to him and to me and my family. Communication is excellent. Home is also very clean and the facilities very good, e.g. sessions for socialisation. Emotional support is excellent.
My brother-in-law moved into Quarry Hall Care Home in October 2023, and I can say, it is the best thing that has happened to him. His whole being has improved immensely. The carers/nursing/admin staff are so kind, caring and extremely helpful in the process of moving in; as you can imagine, it is a very stressful time for us all. Just a bit thank you to all the staff at this very caring and professional establishment.
The staff are amazing and everything is run at the home in a manner I wanted for my mother. We are extremely lucky to have found this care home.
Although my dad wasn't in the care home for long, the staff/management were excellent. They kept me informed of any concerns e.g. administering meds and his well-being. Overall, very happy with the experience/care/support they gave my dad whilst being under their care. Thank you so much.
Welcoming on arrival. Always pleasant surroundings. Decor beautiful (for time of year) but always bright and welcoming. Resident always smartly dressed and room spotless. Very enthusiastic with activities. Resident seems happy in her environment.
Dad had complex needs but the staff understood his distress and the reason why. They were friendly, spoke to us with good eye contact, genuine warmth and understanding. Even though they were busy the staff took the trouble to spend time to ask if I needed tea, sandwiches. They gave Dad regular care, checked him regularly, kept clothes changed, etc., spoke to him when they were going to do things, they were respectful and kind. Although his stay was short, he was well cared for, and that was much appreciated by his family. (Unable to properly assess Facilities and Food and Drink categories, so marked as 'Good').
My mum has settled into the home since July 2023. The staff are very approachable and friendly. They always give me updates. They put my mum at ease and see to her needs. I am happy with Mum's care knowing she is safe and comfortable in the home.

The cleanliness is definitely not up to standard, it is very poor.
