Care for Dad has generally been good, staff do their best under sometimes challenging times with Dads behaviour. We are always kept up to date with any issues in relation to Dads care
Activities team and front of office are extremely kind and accomodating. Dad is happy which is all I am concerned
about.

My mother has been a resident at Bellavista Barry since November 2021. Bellavista's care for my mother has been very good, coping with increasing dementia. Mum is now 96 years old and where she can join in to activities, Bellavista always encourage her. They also do their best to get her to eat as
this is a daily problem. Bellavista are also proactive in dealing with problems as they occur such as when Mum has become unwell. We have always been kept up to date with what is going on.

My father-in-law has been staying here for 2 weeks on respite, and will be here for another 5 weeks.
He is an independent character but has started to settle down and is being very well cared for by friendly, competent and caring staff. There is a cheerful vibe to the home and as visitors we are
always made to feel welcome.
He is joining in activities and is very much enjoying the food. He always looks well dressed and cared for on our visits. The security is excellent and we feel this is a very well managed home.

Mum has dementia and was in 2 other homes before coming to Bellavista. She always asked when we were taking her with us when we visited, and always seemed confused and distressed, but since moving to Bellavista she very rarely asks to leave which tells me she is happy there, since she isn't always
to get her words out. The staff and managers are caring and friendly and always update us on mums daily routines. Myself and my family can't thank you all enough for looking after her.

Cleanliness is spot on. Care is excellent, staff are very pleasant and also very caring towards my husband, couldn't ask for better care, he is always clean and tidy and well looked after. I am very happy with the support I receive when visiting. Food is excellent and well-presented. All around
excellent, very happy that he is well looked after, it's a pleasure for me to see him cared for in this way. Thank you for all you do for me and the family. Yours sincerely.

Realisation that you have come to the end of caring for your husband is sad & painful & full of quiet. When the owner & manager of Bellavista came and visited us at home, I felt they understood my pain & were sympathetic and wanted to help. My husband was difficult, and his behaviour and needs were
challenging.
Though the last 4 years, we have both been shown understanding, care & consideration as well as good nursing care. Where will we be in this country without people who give so much & get rewarded so ungratefully?

My husband has been at Bellavista Nursing Home Barry for nine months. My husband's bedroom has been decorated with painting and curtains to what he wanted. Staff are very friendly with my husband, activity girls go above and beyond to help my husband join in. Food is very good and presented with
thought and care, as he always has eaten by the way food is put on his plate.
I can't thank staff enough as most go above and beyond.

I have always found that all of the staff at Bellavista Nursing Home to be very efficient, courteous and professional when going above their jobs.

Overall, a very good home, good staff, very helpful. Good standard of cleaning. Rooms are very tired, need to be refurbished, furniture is very shabby and quite dirty chairs but that's down to the management not the staff. Pillows and bedding need replacing and lots of his underwear and some clothes
have disappeared. They should all be labelled.

Dad went into Bellavista in April this year directly from the hospital as, we hoped, a stepping stone to him coming home. Due to various health reasons, he declined and he died at the very start of July. During that period our interactions with the home and its staff were always of the highest
standard. We could see with every visit that Dad was well-looked after, that he was kept comfortable, clean and tidy. They helped him maintain his dignity and good humour throughout his stay and when the time came the staff were gentle, kind and considerate of our feelings and Dad's suffering (which was made minimal by the excellent nursing care given). We really appreciate everything they did for him and would recommend this lovely nursing home to anyone.

My mum went into Bellavista as she had late-stage Alzheimer's. Mum was unsteady on her feet and liked to walk around as this was one of the symptoms of dementia - a lot! The carers kept an eye on this and rather than tell her off and take her back to her room they used to let her sit with them and
chat. The carers were wonderful from the day we were shown around. They are all so friendly. Mum settled in really quickly. They always had activities taking place or entertainment (a singer who sang 40's songs, dancers from the local dance school to name a few). My dad was as welcome as my mum was and when he visited he was always fed which was good as we did worry he was eating ok without mum. He used to love the entertainment too. Bellavista certainly made the year my mum was in there better for my dad and gave us all happy memories at a very difficult time. One day I was even able to go with mum to the cinema which is something I never thought I would do again. They are all wonderful.
