View Full Details of Ty Gwyn Care HomeFirst time visiting yesterday. I was so impressed with everything, the staff, the environment, the facilities. My friend has been there for three weeks and could not be in a nicer place. I left feeling full of good vibes and positivity. Well done to everyone involved.
My mother moved into Ty Gwyn Nursing home on the 16th October 2024. This was a very difficult time for her and the family. However the staff team have been extraordinary. They are kind, caring, supportive, and extremely friendly. The nursing team are knowledgeable, reactive to changing needs , and are well trained. The manager is visible around the home and knows every resident and leads her team well. The administrator is the nicest person you could ever wish to meet. She is caring, kind and so helpful. I often found nurse with my mother after the end of their shift just sitting and talking with her, they always made time for my mother and the other residents. An excellent home.
Mum has been at Ty Gwyn for a year and a half and we are so glad we chose Ty Gwyn. Ty Gwyn is an amazing care home. Mum is so happy here and settled. It's so homely and welcoming. The management and staff are wonderful and are more like family. We are happy that Mum is having the care and support she deserves at 96. She is in good hands. Thank you Ty Gwyn x
The manager and team have helped by mum settle in really well into Ty Gwyn. They have been very accommodating with our requests and understanding her likes and dislikes from a food perspective to try and encourage her to eat more. The staff are friendly, attentive and always on hand if we have any queries / requests. Rooms are very clean with housekeeping/ laundry done daily .
I find the staff here friendly and helpful, from the nurses down to the cleaners. Any problems are dealt with as quickly as possible and they listen to any concerns you may have. The manager is also very approachable and around a lot, should you need to discuss anything.
There is a lovely friendly atmosphere and it really does strive to make it a home from home for the residents. There is always something to do for the residents should they want to join in. My mum is looking very well since she has been there and it's obvious she is being well looked after. I am very happy that mum is there and I feel very relaxed and at home when I go in to see mum as does she. It has a very homely feel and I often forget when I am in there, where I am.
My mother has been a resident of Ty Gwyn since 2021. The care and respect my mother has received is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble or a problem. All the staff are polite and professional. They take time with my mother to make sure she is comfortable, happy and cater for her every need. I am kept informed about my mother on a regular basis. It was a very difficult decision to place a relative in a care home but it has turned out to be the best decision because of the outstanding care that Ty Gwyn provides. I am always met with a friendly welcome and Ty Gwyn feels like one big extended family.
Mum moved to Ty Gwyn 2 years ago. . We were told we should treat it like home from home. This has been the case all along when the family visit they are made very welcome by all the staff who have become almost like part of our extended family. I cannot praise the staff enough for what they do above and beyond their own duties at times. Ty Gwyn has a lovely sheltered garden at the front of the building. Residents can sit out all weathers and watch the world go by. Mum and a few residents and family were out and I jokingly said to one of the nurses "all we need now is a bottle of Rosé like being on holiday lol". Ten minutes later out came Rosé ,cheese and biscuits. This is only one of the many things that the staff at Ty Gwyn do for the residents from admin to kitchen staff chatting to the residents to the activities coordinator arranging for mum to meet up with an old friend of hers from another local care home . Definitely home from home - thank you to all the staff .
Very pleased with the care my father inlaw recieves in the care home. They keep us well informed of his health and wellbeing. Minutes of meetings are sent to us by email and communication is always quick and responsive. My father inlaw is always clean and tidy when we see him and there have been no issues of concern. He is a safe happy enviroment and one we can trust in.
Really pleased with the service and it's lovely to see my mum happy and settled. The home provides excellent services, the care of all staff is excellent. My mum enjoys the activities and the social part of it.
My mum moved from another home and she's been very welcomed. The service is excellent. Food is very good and all the staff are very very friendly. Overall we are very happy with T Gwyn. The care my mum is receiving is excellent and very attentive. Mum actually commented herself that she has more one-to-one and personal interaction here than she did in her previous home and she is very very settled.
All members of staff have made a big impression on my father. Everyone is polite and efficient. The nursing is first class and my father gets tended too quickly whenever required. All his appointments are very well managed.
The decision for our Mum to go into a nursing home was awful at the time, we knew we couldn't manage any longer but had overwhelming guilt and feelings of failure. We visited a few homes which were nice enough however when we first walked through the main entrance to Ty Gwyn we immediately knew this would suit our Mum. The home had a light, airy and modern feel, it was warm with a lovely smell. All the staff we met were friendly and down to earth. Anything the residents want to do or have is catered for, nothing is too much trouble. You can have friends and family in, bring children, dogs and cats, have a takeaway, hold birthday celebrations etc. All the staff are professional and kind and the management really do their utmost to make sure the residents are happy and all their needs and wants are catered for. When the sun is out, lots of residents and their families sit outside in the garden and it's a lovely and supportive little community with a real family feel.
My 95-year-old mum went into Ty Gwyn for respite care from hospital after a fall at home and broken pelvis. As she lived independently she has had difficulty making the transition into needing nursing care. I visit frequently at odd hours, always numerous staff on duty and willing to help with any request. The staff have been fantastic, professional management under the manager and I would particularly like to mention the nurses and the carers with whom I have regular contact. This is in no order and to the many others I see working professionally but I don't know personally. My mother came in tired, confused and anxious after a transfer. A staff member came into her room, held her hand for an hour and talked to her about life in the home, what to expect and just engaged with her (my mum would say as a person and not a sack of potatoes). She is always happy and just an angel. The housekeeping is excellent and the home always smells fresh.
My dad has only been with them a very short time, after a long hospital stay. The staff here listen to any concerns you have and act with care and compassion. My dad had a major heath crisis. The staff were there in seconds and dealt with everything, including me being in a state, professionally and swiftly.
Putting our parents into nursing care was probably the hardest decision we have ever made however when we first visited Ty Gwyn Care Home we were met by friendly faces, beautiful decor and a feeling that they would be in safe hands. The building is light, clean and feels more like a hotel than a nursing home. We were able to personalise the rooms which helped them to adjust to their new way of life much quicker than we had hoped for. My parents were treated with respect and the staff really do operate well as a team. The activities are well planned, the meals delicious and nothing was ever too much trouble. They were well supported and my family will be forever grateful.
I cannot speak too highly about you all. Your kindness to my husband and myself has always been first-class and I would recommend you to anyone. It wasn’t the easiest decision to find a home for my husband but you have made me sure I made the right choice.
My wife has been in your care nearly three years now and in that time, she has been treated as a person, not as a number. I have got to know the staff by sight, if not always by name! If they have any concerns about her well-being, I am kept informed. I am always made welcome when I visit, so I rate your care highly.

I visit Ty Gwyn Care Home on a regular basis. The home is always clean and tidy and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I mostly meet residents in the first-floor lounge which seems to be a place where residents feel comfortable and are able to interact together and enjoy a variety of activities and develop friendships together. On the occasions I have visited residents in their own rooms, they appear spacious and residents are comfortable and able to have belongings around them from their own homes.
