My husband has been in Ty Gwyn for three weeks. As a family we are very impressed by how thoroughly they acquired information about him to ensure that his transition into the home went smoothly. On the day he was admitted we were met by Callum who helped us in with everything we had brought with us. This included a television that he set up immediately in my husband's room. The care and nursing staff are caring and helpful. He has had an appointment with a podiatrist, a GP and an optician. This has lifted a weight of responsibility from me. A hair cut will be next. They have ordered him a wheel chair. They have an open door policy so he has already had multiple visits from friends and neighbours
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I will share your message with our staff and pass your kind appreciation.
Management team were also very caring and understanding. First class!
Thank you for this very heartfelt review. We pride ourselves at Ty Gwyn on our End of Life care and we are glad we could help you through this.
Mum is very happy at Ty Gwyn I can't fault the care mum receives.
Thank you for your lovely message. I will pass it on to the care staff.
The care my mum received was exceptional, and I want to say thankyou to everyone in the whole home for loving and respecting my mum in her final year.
There are too many people to thank individually, and many that you don't even see, who work tirelessly , 24/7 to make sure all the residents have the best life possible. from the nurses, cleaners, carers ,kitchen staff and staff that work at night.
When we visited mum she would talk about staff we had never met, and we would question if these people existed, or if they were a figment of mums fading memory. Clearly her memory was still pretty good, as we finally met many of these people toward the end of mums very fulfilled life.
Mum loved all the entertainment, especially the games, singing and the Church services that happened every week.
God bless you all and thank you so much for loving and caring for my mum x
Thank you for such a glowing review. We are delighted that you feel your Mum was looked after so well and that this gave you peace of mind. It is lovely to read that you found our colleagues exceptional and that they went the extra mile for your mum. I will share your kind words with everyone.
My husband has been in this home for 6 months and I have nothing but praise to give them. All his needs are met by a very friendly team, Always greeted with a smile from staff. All queries are dealt with instantly. Definitely worth 5 stars
Many thanks for your lovely review. I will share it with our staff. We try our best to make Ty Gwyn a homely home.
A really lovely place.
Many thanks for your lovely review. We are honoured to look after both your parents. I will pass your message to the Ty Gwyn staff team. They will be very pleased.
A little early to write a report as my wife has only been in care for 2 weeks. Did have one issue with member of medical staff. My wife has constant pain in her left arm due to stroke. One evening it was so severe that I believed she needed to see a doctor. This person was totally dismissive although it was obvious the pain my wife had, experience with all other staff - wonderful.
Many thanks for your review. I am sorry to hear that a member of staff was dismissive and as we have already discussed, your concerns will be taken further. At Ty Gwyn we are proud to offer an excellent quality of care for all our residents, and we also work alongside families and relatives, encouraging any feedback to strive for the best.
First time visiting yesterday. I was so impressed with everything, the staff, the environment, the facilities. My friend has been there for three weeks and could not be in a nicer place. I left feeling full of good vibes and positivity. Well done to everyone involved.
Thank you so much for your positive review. I will share this with the team who will be delighted.
My mother moved into Ty Gwyn Nursing home on the 16th October 2024. This was a very difficult time for her and the family. However the staff team have been extraordinary. They are kind, caring, supportive, and extremely friendly. The nursing team are knowledgeable, reactive to changing needs , and are well trained. The manager is visible around the home and knows every resident and leads her team well. The administrator is the nicest person you could ever wish to meet. She is caring, kind and so helpful. I often found nurse with my mother after the end of their shift just sitting and talking with her, they always made time for my mother and the other residents. An excellent home.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. I will pass the message to our staff. I am sure they will be very pleased.
The staff are friendly, attentive and always on hand if we have any queries / requests.
Rooms are very clean with housekeeping/ laundry done daily .
Thank you so much for your positive review. We are delighted that you find us caring and looking after your mother so well. Your kind words will be shared with the team.
Any problems are dealt with as quickly as possible and they listen to any concerns you may have.
The manager is also very approachable and around a lot, should you need to discuss anything.
Many thanks for your lovely review. I will let the staff team know about your feedback, which will be appreciated.
There is a lovely friendly atmosphere and it really does strive to make it a home from home for the residents. There is always something to do for the residents should they want to join in. My mum is looking very well since she has been there and it's obvious she is being well looked after. I am very happy that mum is there and I feel very relaxed and at home when I go in to see mum as does she. It has a very homely feel and I often forget when I am in there, where I am.
Thank you for completing a review. I am delighted that you find our team caring and give you the home from home feeling. It is also lovely to read that you see we have plenty of activities for all our residents to enjoy. I will share your review with the team.
My mother has been a resident of Ty Gwyn since 2021. The care and respect my mother has received is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble or a problem. All the staff are polite and professional. They take time with my mother to make sure she is comfortable, happy and cater for her every need. I am kept informed about my mother on a regular basis. It was a very difficult decision to place a relative in a care home but it has turned out to be the best decision because of the outstanding care that Ty Gwyn provides. I am always met with a friendly welcome and Ty Gwyn feels like one big extended family.
Many thanks for such a lovely review. We do feel we are an extended family for our residents and relatives. I will pass your amazing message to our care staff.
Mum moved to Ty Gwyn 2 years ago. . We were told we should treat it like home from home. This has been the case all along when the family visit they are made very welcome by all the staff who have become almost like part of our extended family. I cannot praise the staff enough for what they do above and beyond their own duties at times. Ty Gwyn has a lovely sheltered garden at the front of the building. Residents can sit out all weathers and watch the world go by. Mum and a few residents and family were out and I jokingly said to one of the nurses "all we need now is a bottle of Rosé like being on holiday lol". Ten minutes later out came Rosé ,cheese and biscuits. This is only one of the many things that the staff at Ty Gwyn do for the residents from admin to kitchen staff chatting to the residents to the activities coordinator arranging for mum to meet up with an old friend of hers from another local care home . Definitely home from home - thank you to all the staff .
What a glowing review, thank you so much. We are happy and pleased that the relatives and families have this lovely, homely feeling about Ty Gwyn and the care staff. Your feedback is much appreciated.
Very pleased with the care my father inlaw recieves in the care home. They keep us well informed of his health and wellbeing. Minutes of meetings are sent to us by email and communication is always quick and responsive. My father inlaw is always clean and tidy when we see him and there have been no issues of concern. He is a safe happy enviroment and one we can trust in.
We are very grateful for your beautiful message. Thank you. It's a pleasure to look after your father-in-law.
Really pleased with the service and it's lovely to see my mum happy and settled. The home provides excellent services, the care of all staff is excellent. My mum enjoys the activities and the social part of it.
Many thanks for your lovely message. Our care staff will be very pleased with your praises. I will make them aware.
All members of staff have made a big impression on my father. Everyone is polite and efficient. The nursing is first class and my father gets tended too quickly whenever required. All his appointments are very well managed.
Many thanks for your lovely review. Our care staff will be made aware of your message, and it will be much appreciated.
Anything the residents want to do or have is catered for, nothing is too much trouble. You can have friends and family in, bring children, dogs and cats, have a takeaway, hold birthday celebrations etc. All the staff are professional and kind and the management really do their utmost to make sure the residents are happy and all their needs and wants are catered for.
When the sun is out, lots of residents and their families sit outside in the garden and it's a lovely and supportive little community with a real family feel.
Many thanks for your lovely review. I will pass the message to our staff to enjoy your appreciation and kindness. We try our best to accommodate our residents and their loved ones.
My 95-year-old mum went into Ty Gwyn for respite care from hospital after a fall at home and broken pelvis. As she lived independently she has had difficulty making the transition into needing nursing care. I visit frequently at odd hours, always numerous staff on duty and willing to help with any request. The staff have been fantastic, professional management under the manager and I would particularly like to mention the nurses and the carers with whom I have regular contact. This is in no order and to the many others I see working professionally but I don't know personally. My mother came in tired, confused and anxious after a transfer. A staff member came into her room, held her hand for an hour and talked to her about life in the home, what to expect and just engaged with her (my mum would say as a person and not a sack of potatoes). She is always happy and just an angel. The housekeeping is excellent and the home always smells fresh.
Many thanks for your warm comments. We are happy to look after your mother and make her stay with us easier and smoother. She is always more than welcome to come back. I will pass your lovely message to all our staff.
My dad has only been with them a very short time, after a long hospital stay. The staff here listen to any concerns you have and act with care and compassion. My dad had a major heath crisis. The staff were there in seconds and dealt with everything, including me being in a state, professionally and swiftly.
We are very grateful for your message. I will pass this to our lovely staff in Ty Gwyn. It will be much appreciated.
