Putting our parents into nursing care was probably the hardest decision we have ever made however when we first visited Ty Gwyn Care Home we were met by friendly faces, beautiful decor and a feeling that they would be in safe hands. The building is light, clean and feels more like a hotel than a nursing home. We were able to personalise the rooms which helped them to adjust to their new way of life much quicker than we had hoped for. My parents were treated with respect and the staff really do operate well as a team. The activities are well planned, the meals delicious and nothing was ever too much trouble. They were well supported and my family will be forever grateful.
I would like to thank you with all my heart for your beautiful and encouraging words. It was a pleasure to look after your parents and also a pleasure to meet you and your lovely family. I will pass the message to all Ty Gwyn staff. They will all enjoy your lovely message. Thank you.
I cannot speak too highly about you all. Your kindness to my husband and myself has always been first-class and I would recommend you to anyone. It wasn’t the easiest decision to find a home for my husband but you have made me sure I made the right choice.
I am so grateful for your beautiful review. I will let my staff know how highly you think of them.
My wife has been in your care nearly three years now and in that time, she has been treated as a person, not as a number. I have got to know the staff by sight, if not always by name! If they have any concerns about her well-being, I am kept informed. I am always made welcome when I visit, so I rate your care highly.
Many thanks for your lovely review. I will pass the message on to my amazing staff. It is a pleasure to look after your lovely wife.
My mother has had respite care at Ty Gwyn Care Home. She has felt welcomed and cared for. The nurses and care workers are professional, kind and caring. Activities are fun and interesting. The management team are efficient and friendly. Food is tasty. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We are very happy with the whole stay.
At Ty Gwyn, we pride ourselves on our care and our care staff. It is very important to us that all residents feel well cared for and happy during their stay, whether it is permanent or respite care and it’s lovely to hear that your mum had a nice stay with us. I will pass this on to all staff who will appreciate the great feedback.
I visit Ty Gwyn Care Home on a regular basis. The home is always clean and tidy and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. I mostly meet residents in the first-floor lounge which seems to be a place where residents feel comfortable and are able to interact together and enjoy a variety of activities and develop friendships together. On the occasions I have visited residents in their own rooms, they appear spacious and residents are comfortable and able to have belongings around them from their own homes.
Whenever I visit, the staff always seem to impart information on what my father has eaten and done that day, without being asked.
The home is kept spotlessly clean and the food is good.
Many thanks for your review. I will pass the message to Ty Gwyn staff. We are very delighted that you are happy with the care provided and your father is very settled here.
She has been at the home for nearly two years and I have complete peace of mind that she is looked after 24 hours a day.
Everyone is always pleasant and helpful when I visit and as I live some distance away, visits are infrequent for me so I rely on speaking to my mum several times a day.
Whenever I ring to ask about something or when I e-mail I always get a positive response.
Thank you to all involved.
We are so pleased and grateful that you have peace of mind regarding your mum's care. I will share this lovely news with my staff. Thank you for your lovely words.
Very caring and compassionate staff. There is always a friendly welcome. My dad is treated with care, respect and dignity. There is an activity going on every day, which sadly, my dad is unable to take part in.
Many thanks for your lovely comments. I will pass the message to our care staff and community coordinator.
Can I say the staff at Ty Gwyn care home are very nice to all the residents and their familes. The residents are all included in the activities on the days.
Many thanks for your kind comments regarding our staff at Ty Gwyn. I will pass the message to all of them. They will very much appreciate it.
A heartfelt "Thank you" to Ty-Gwyn and all the caring/friendly and dedicated staff who cared for my Mum over the last 4 years. The care, compassion and dignity given to Mum and ourselves was second to none and helped us through these very sad times. Over 4 years, we were treated with respect by staff who would always go the extra mile! A welcoming residence that gave us confidence and trust of our loved one in their care. We will always remember Ty-Gwyn with appreciation and gratitude.
Thank you for such a lovely review and it was our pleasure looking after such a lovely lady.
My brother has been in Ty Gwyn for 5 months after undergoing hospital surgery which left him unable to care for himself. He is heavily dependent on the care home staff, who have been very supportive of his needs. I have found the manager and admin staff efficient and always available to respond to any questions I have.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review for Ty Gwyn. It is always great to read positive comments about our home. I will share your review with all the staff, as all positive comments are always very much appreciated.
It was a very difficult decision, putting my much-loved mum into a nursing home, particularly as she desperately wanted to retain her independence but after several falls at home, concern for her safety and care made it essential. Ty Gwyn is run in a very professional, caring manner meaning we can all rest, knowing Mum is well looked after and safe. The staff are all extremely kind and friendly and it is lovely to see her laughing and joking with them. She very much enjoys the activities that the staff put on during the day, something that I think is important to give all the residents a sense of purpose and achievement. Due to the situation with covid at the moment, the limit on visits is obviously not ideal but hopefully, once the warmer weather comes, we will be able to enjoy the lovely outdoor area safely.
I would like to thank you with all my heart for your beautiful and encouraging words. It is a pleasure to look after your mum and also a pleasure to meet you and have you as part of our big Ty Gwyn family. Hopefully, we will have a summer fair this year to enjoy the garden and meet all the other relatives.
I cannot begin to say how thrilled I was to join via zoom in Ty Gwyn 's Christmas Carol Concert on Sunday the 19th of December. The service was very well prepared and the residents who took part in the Bible readings, were very clear and were encouraged and supported by the chaplain and carers. The highlight for me was to hear my mother singing at the top of her voice the various carols and it took me back to the times when she would sing in our chapel where she would attend every week. My mother is so happy in the home and it's such a comfort for us to know that she is so settled. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was a lovely Christmas Carol Concert indeed and everybody enjoyed it. Your mother was the voice of Ty Gwyn and I am so happy that listening to her brought back dear memories to you. I will pass your message to our care staff.
My mother has been a resident of Ty Gwyn for over 3 years and the quality of her care has been outstanding. The staff are friendly and professional and the running of the home is overseen by a manager that is always available and approachable. It gives me great peace of mind that my mother is being well looked after.
Many thanks for your lovely review. It is so encouraging for the staff to have their hard work appreciated. I will pass the message to all of them. We try our best to accommodate our residents and make them feel like they are at home.
I moved my Dad from another Care Home in the Vale of Glamorgan to Ty Gwyn in Penarth in August 2021 due mainly to restrictions from the coronavirus and his failing psychological health, the factors being not being able to see his family frequently or allowed to come out safely for short trips without returning to strict isolation for 2 weeks. Ty Gwyn are, of course, governed by strict safety guidelines (LFT's masks etc) but TY Gwyn made it possible for us to regularly see Dad/take him out and the change in my Dad is enormous. He is happier, looks better physically and improved psychologically. The manager and staff are kind, supportive and professional.
It is a pleasure and an honour to have your father at Ty Gwyn. We are all so pleased that he is happy and content with seeing his family regularly now. During this difficult time, we try our best to enlighten our residents' lives and keeping in close touch with families is our duty of care as well. I will inform our care staff of your lovely review.
During Covid, the staff have been extremely effective at following guidelines to minimise risk to residents.
Many thanks for your lovely words. It is so encouraging for the staff to have their hard work appreciated. I will pass the message to all of them.
The manager runs a very good nursing home. She and her office manager, are very responsive to any requests and are very pleasant to deal with. The manager noticed my mother needed some more night garments which, with covid measures, we hadn’t ourselves noticed. We appreciated this kind thought and replaced them immediately. The front garden is full of stunning flowers which makes our outdoor meetings a pleasure. Mum is happy in the home and likes the carers who take an interest in talking with her. Keep up the great work, Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review for Ty Gwyn. It is always great to read positive comments about the home. I will share your review with all the staff as all positive comments are always very much appreciated.
I would also like to thank the chaplain for her kind words and support.
Hopefully, we will see you again at the end of lockdown over a coffee and a cake and also share happy memories about your lovely husband.
A special mention for the Minister and carer who facilitated the Zoom visit which allowed us to enjoy the moment with her.
We are happy to facilitate more Zoom calls for you and your mum anytime you wish.
Exceptional care given with injections and overall well being. When my mother lost her eldest son the support given before, during and after the funeral was uplifting and so appropriate. The Chaplain was a bridge between us during the lockdown and would make it possible for us to communicate directly with my mother. Thank you very much. Diolch yn fawr iawn.
Many thanks for your lovely comments and the appreciation of the care your mother has received at Ty Gwyn. It is a pleasure to look after your mum and I am sure she is very happy to stay here. I will also pass the kind message to our Chaplain and care staff.
