View Full Details of Glais House Nursing HomeMy husband has been in the care of Glais house for nearly a year and throughout this time he has received wonderful treatment. His needs are seen to in a kind and friendly way and with a smile. I am greeted like an old friend and we exchange a few Welsh phrases too! My husband has settled here and is very happy.
There is not enough time or words to describe this amazing place. Glais quite literally saved my mother's life after years of mistreatment and neglect in another home! Without Glais mum would not be here or have had the quality of care she needs or deserves! The staff are fantastic, friendly inclusive and have excellent communication with the family. The service and care mum has, is the best! They also do super family events which really brightens the residents' and family life!
At every visit, whether a family visit or for the frequent social events, all staff are very attentive. Particularly at social events lots of effort is made to include every resident and also family members. I often see smiles on the faces of residents, which has to be a good thing.
Social activities are good for service users mental wellbeing. The celebration of King Charles' birthday gave families and service users the chance to have fun together and recapture family moments that are otherwise lost.
We are incredibly thankful for the outstanding care my mother in law has received at this residential home. From day one the staff have been nothing short of exceptional, friendly, welcoming and genuinely compassionate. It's clear that her wellbeing is always the top priority in everything they do and that peace of mind is something we deeply appreciate.
The home welcomed Mum and our family and made a very stressful transition seamless. The care mum has is excellent. She is happy, healthy and spotlessly clean. We noticed a complete change in her wellbeing for the better. All staff are approachable, caring and compassionate. It does not feel like a care home. The facilities are immaculate. The activities are excellent and family are included. Mums room is so clean & tidy. We cannot fault her care and we are kept up to date. Visits are open, friendly and welcoming. Mum is really fond of her carers and is back to being 'Mum'.
Glais House Nursing Home is a bright, beautiful, fun place for residents and family. We are so lucky my mother is able to reside in such an environment. Thank you Glais.
Glais House looked after my wife for many years. Always excellent service, nothing is too much trouble.
Excellent standards throughout the whole home. Facilities excellent and staff exceptional in supporting residents. Really happy to have got my mum a place with in the home as it stands out compared to the remainder I previously visited throughout Swansea which provided the same services. Staff were excellent in supporting me obtain a place in the home from Jan-Mar 25. Good communication during this period which kept me well informed. Many thanks to everyone involved.
I can only praise, all staff for the care my mum receives in Glais House. She has been a resident of the home for 4 years. Due to her advanced Alzheimers and mobility issues, she requires full-time care. The Manager, nursing staff, carers and admin are happy, approachable, friendly, dedicated and attentive to all her needs. I visit regularly and love the way staff, interact with mum, whether they're carers, domestics, kitchen staff, all show her attention, affection and give her comfort. Daily activities engage residents and are tailored to individuals needs and abilities. The events and activities team, go the extra mile and arrange the best parties for family and friends of residents. Last Saturdays, Easter event was fabulous, lots of games, animal petting and jewellery making, for children. Buffet food, beautifully prepared and scrumptious. Professional singer, sang popular songs, fun dancing, Easter Bonnet competition and amazing prizes. Precious memories and photos to treasure.
Dad is being looked after very well. He is well-fed and always clean. The room is spotlessly clean.
It is always a pleasure to visit my friend at Glais House as I am always greeted by a smile from the staff. They are always attentive and obliging. The atmosphere is relaxed and all the residents are made a fuss of, games are played and activities are prepared to keep the residents and staff motivated.
I visited Glais House Nursing Home yesterday to celebrate my friend's birthday. The staff had gone to a lot of effort to provide a wonderful birthday buffet tea. It was laid out in the conservatory and the family and friends were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much effort for the staff. On other visits, I have been really impressed with the care, facilities and dignity with which my friend is always treated. I congratulate the home staff and managers on the wonderful job they are doing.
Mum has just passed her second year of living in Glais House Nursing Home and I wanted to put on record how happy I am with the standard of cleanliness of the rooms and facilities but most importantly the standard of care that she receives from the staff. The care is person-centered and is very kind and thoughtful. Over this time Mum's mobility has decreased and they have dealt with this. They are a credit to themselves and the home. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Glais House.
I am so grateful to Glais House management and staff, I tell them every visit. My mum is cared for with compassion and love and it shows in her demeanour. It's a happy place to visit, all be it sad. The residents are at home and friends with each other. The rooms are immaculately clean. Entertainment is varied and engaging. The food is home-cooked, good quality and plentiful. 100% satisfied with Glais House Nursing Home.
Glais House Nursing Home has a warm and friendly atmosphere with professional staff who know the residents well.
My father has been at Glais House for nearly 4 years and we feel that the staff are more like family than carers, which makes his time here so much nicer.
Mum was a resident at Glais House for 10 months and peacefully passed away in October of this year. She was extremely frail and despite best efforts faded during this time. This was the family's first experience of a care home and it was a very difficult decision for us to place Mum in the care home. I felt that I had to write this review to give credit and thanks to the staff who without exception treated Mum with the utmost respect, patience and kindness providing the comfort and care that we as a family couldn't.
My wife has been a resident at Glais House for more than five years. Has very advanced Alzheimer's dementia, along with heart and skin issues, type 2 diabetes and recurrent urinary tract infections. She has a complex medication regime. Consequently, she is totally dependent on the nursing care provided by the staff there. The staff are excellent and professional in all areas, way better than at some homes I have experience of. I'm always made to feel welcome when I visit there and the staff are always friendly and approachable. The home has a very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. It's always clean and tidy and never looks in need of a makeover! It has beautiful grounds and is a pleasure to visit. Regular entertainment events are held are to a good standard. I cared for my wife at home for several years before she became too ill and her needs simply couldn't be met there. I put my trust in Glais House to take over her care and that trust has proven to be well placed.
My sister has been in the nursing home for over 2 years. I am very happy with her carers and everyone connected to the home looking after her. It's a very difficult job with a lot of patience needed. Would like to see all the staff with name tags easier to say thank you. Think social services could help more with the cost of staying in the nursing home.
