I went to visit my great aunt at Swn-Y-Gan this week, the home is so lovely and homely. My Aunt is well looked after and has settled in really well.
The staff are really friendly and helpful and make u feel so welcome

I have deinitely picked the right home, the home meets my needs nothing is too much trouble for the staff here, from domestic right through to management. I'm very happy living at Swn-Y-Gan, I feel safe and reassured. The staff will spend time with me in my room and ask if I would and ask if I would
like to join with activities.

The home is very well run, Always a good welcome from staff - from the laundrey lady to the manager. Request are always dealt with as soon as possible and my husband is as happy as he can be, considering his situation. (Although he always thinks I've come to take him home) when visiting.

When I visit Swn-y-Gan nursing home I find the staff very polite, caring and nothing is too much trouble for them that includes office staff, cleaners and care/support workers. It's a pleasure to visit the home.

Although my brother-in-law was at Swn-y-Gan for a short time before he passed away I have nothing but praise for the standard of care he received and the compassion shown by ALL the staff whilst he was with them and would have no hesitation in recommending the nursing home very highly.

Words will never convey the gratitude and thanks to the manager and all the team at Swn-Y-Gan who cared for our beautiful nana, to everyone who cared for Nan in her final days, and the time before that, you know who you are and you are all OUTSTANDING. You were all so wonderful, kind, compassionate
and caring, most importantly for nan, but also for us as a family in a time of need. From the check ins, to the coffees and having dad to stay so he could be close to nan in her final days, nothing was too much. You allowed nan to keep as much dignity as possible, kept her comfortable and clean as you could, and beyond expectations. You were all incredible. THANK YOU.
It broke our hearts when Nan had to go into a home but we couldn't have asked for a more lovely people to surround her. It was so clear you all loved her, as she did you. Thank you so much for everything and for helping Nan to still smile and laugh in her time there

The staff treated my grandmother with utmost dignity and care.
As a family we were welcomed and cared for during my grandmother's end of life care.
We were always informed of changes and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
Everyone was so friendly and approachable.
They made this
difficult time bearable.

Our mum came to Swn y Gan care home after leaving hospital , it only took a short while for her accept and settle down there , with the constant ongoing loving care and attention she has received from all the staff she is thriving . The good days now out way the bad days. Everybody mucks in -
managers included to help with the daily activities and care needed for the residents to have a happy life . We can't thank the staff enough for giving us the knowledge that when we leave mum after visiting that she is in excellent hands and feel like a weight has been lifted off our shoulders . The food is absolutely amazing , all home cooked and rooms are clean , comfortable and homely . Cannot recommend this care home enough xx

My husband has now been seven months in the care of Swn-y-Gan. He was admitted a very sick man. He has been nursed with such devotion. The outcome is a man participating in art therapy and interacting in social situations in a way I never thought possible again. The staff are like a family with a
sick relative. Their love of their work can reduce me to tears.

The standard of care is five start. There is nothing to much for the staff. It's very much a family atmosphere.
As a visitor I am always offered tea coffee and cake.
The amount and variety of things happening and things to do amazing.
I can't recommend this place enough.

Overall, as a family, we are very happy with the care for my wife. The staff on the whole are kind and considerate. However, communication between staff and shifts could be improved as messages from the family ie outings etc are not always relayed.

I appreciate the patience and time given to me when I need to talk about my wife's care and my own personal issues.

I am extremely happy with the overall care provided to my mother in the 18 months or so she has been at Swn-y-Gan. However, there are areas of concern/things that could be improved. Very good staff have been leaving in recent months and these need to be replaced with the same level of experience and
care. For a long time, the wifi/internet was poor but this has now been addressed with a booster. The garden is not being looked after, lots of weeds, which is an eye sore, especially at the front. There used to be lots of different activities with monthly timetables but these are reduced with no timetable anymore. Finally, my mother likes to have sips of coffee but sometimes it's cold or too much milk. These are the reasons the overall experience is downgraded.

All the staff at Swn-y-Gan are amazing, special people! Unfortunately, my dear mother suffers with a difficult, sad illness, thankfully she is superbly cared for by all the wonderful staff with love and dignity. Swn-y-Gan gave us all the assurance, trust and answers needed to know. We were very
fortunate to have found this lovely nursing home. They also show caring concern for the family and are always on call for us. Thank you Swn-y-Gan for all the excellent care to my dear mother. We are one big family and you are simply the best. Thank you.

My mother who suffers from Alzheimer's has been a resident since March 2022. I believe she receives excellent care from all the staff and they are always very friendly and helpful during visits. My mother is kept clean and tidy, her hair is attended to regularly by a hairdresser. Overall, I would
suggest that Swn-y-Gan is a very good nursing home and meets the needs of those they care for.

Our mother has been a resident of Swn-y-Gan for the last two years. Over that time, she has been very happy, and if there is ever an issue eg. food, the staff have spoken with her very professionally and catered to her individual needs. Our mother is very appreciative of the staff, and as she has
full mental capacity, she is able to converse with the staff at all times. We have found her room to always be very fresh, clean and tidy, which is extremely important to our mother's health and well-being.

Swn-y-Gan Nursing Home took all my concerns and worries away when my dear mother became a resident. It is a wonderful, caring, homely nursing home. All the fantastic staff go above and beyond their duty of care with love and compassion; they can be approached in confidence if there is something to
discuss and always listen and understand. Swn-y-Gan is now my extended family, giving me the confidence and knowledge that all my mother's needs are professionally cared for and she is loved dearly. I extend a big thank you to all of their excellent, five-star, loving care on a daily basis, and I highly recommend this brilliant nursing home. Thank you.

I have found everyone who works at Swn-y-Gan, from the cleaners, laundry lady, cooks, staff and office workers, most helpful and considerate.
My husband has gone through a difficult month, but the staff keep trying to keep his strength up and do the best they can for him and hope now to get him up
and out of bed so that he can join the other residents in the lounge. Many activities take place in the lounge, and although he is unable to participate, I feel he will benefit from being there. I do hope the medical staff who treat him will hurry up to approve this and help to get him back onto a more solid diet as he does enjoy his food.
