View Full Details of Ceris Newydd and Glyn MenaiIt is an excellent home. My relative is well cared for. The facilities are good with such lovely views and location. The permanent staff are good, some more than others; however, agency staff can at times be less engaging. The food is hit and miss at times. The Friday 'fish' has gone smaller and looks grey! Investment in new restaurant tables, they look old! We love the welcome from reception, especially the cats.
Very good nursing home. Good staff and excellent support care for my mother.
This is my mother's 4th year at Ceris Newydd, and she couldn't be happier. All the staff are great and do all they can to make life as easy as possible. She's also very happy with the food (and she's very fussy).
Very good care for residents. Staff are always polite and welcoming. The receptionist is always welcoming and pleasant.
Care could not be improved. Excellent in all aspects. Carers are always polite and welcoming. Nursing care could not be improved. Lovely, homely atmosphere, always exceptional care.
Although the wife has only been a resident at Ceris Newydd for a few weeks, there is a marked improvement in her attitude and mental health in general, although naturally she does have her "off days".
My partner has been in Ceris for 16 months and our experience on the hold has been good. I spend a lot of time with him so I have seen how it works, I do feel that there is not enough staff to deal with 10 patients who are all in need of personal care, I have seen the staff get quite stressed out and sometimes not able to bot able to take their lunch break until nearly 3 o'clock as there is always someone needing changing or repositioning. The staff work very hard and do their very best, no complaints on the care.
I visited in October to see my dad, staff were very lovely, I took chocolates for all staff, day and night and residents. I assisted with feeding my dad, due to my nursing background, I sorted my dads cupboards and wardrobe plus replenished clothing and vests. I was wondering the pads where overtaking room in wardrobes and cupboard is, their anything we can do about that and noticed clothes underneath the packets of pads which had fell of the hangers, they were very creased and tops rolled up in the cupboards if any thing is stained can you dispose of them and I will replenish items if you leave a text or email I can act on this straight away. can I just say thank you for all you do for my dad he looked wonderful when I came to visit keep on with all good works you are wonderful.
A kind welcome is the first contact at Ceris Newydd Fairways. The staff are friendly and approachable. Recent coffee mornings and walks, when appropriate, add to a feeling of normality for clients. The music sessions are much enjoyed and well prepared. The management is readily available and listens to concerns. Nothing is too much trouble. The carers are well trained, watchful and kind. All very reassuring for anxious relatives. Ceris is such a benefit to our locality.

Ceris Newydd Care Home goes above and beyond by providing a safe and genuinely caring environment for my mum. All of the staff from admin, housekeeping, carers, nurses, and managers are super helpful, friendly and professional and I can't recommend them highly enough.
I was very impressed with the kindness the staff showed a resident, who was very agitated at the time, within 15 minutes of engaging with the situation, the resident was a different person - e.g a happy person.
Staff are very hard working and polite.
Very warm welcome whenever we visit especially from one member of staff in particular! My mother is very settled and very happy, and most importantly feels safe. All the staff are amazing, and as a family can't fault anything.
Mum became a resident of Ceris Newydd after suffering a stroke. During her first few months, she settled in, her health overall and post-stroke improved and she became happier in herself. The staff assisted in mum's progress post-stroke and were always on hand with help, a cheery word and care. Mum was never lonely, there was always someone popping in to say hello or offer coffee/tea. At the end of Mum's life, the care and dedication shown by Ceris staff couldn't be faulted. They were wonderful in giving mum a peaceful and dignified ending.
On the whole everything is satisfactory. The lady in reception is very welcoming and helpful. The nurse is very supportive and shows the residents great dignity. The same goes for the lady who helped weigh my mother and put her at ease. Also the staff show residents and understanding to all. Some others were brusque and seem to want to rush everything.
Friendly and welcoming, including reception and the cats! All staff are approachable and easy to talk with. Nice facilities and views from the lounge. Food choices and standards could be better on occasion.
I commend Fairways Treborth, Bangor for the well-being and care afforded my wife during two and a half years at Ceris Newydd Down, with appreciation to all the staff - from management, administration, nursing, carers, chefs, cleaning staff, and activities. I visit my wife three times every week and her care and special needs have been maintained. New renovation and improvement work is also appreciated.
I am not trying to say that Ceris Newydd is perfect, but my personal experience has been excellent. My husband, since the day of his admission has been treated with respect and kindness. He is severely autistic, so as you can imagine, looking after him is not always easy. He has been very well looked after. He has been showered and shaved regularly and despite the fact that he is doubly incontinent he is always well cleaned. The staff/patient/family relationships are very good, we are treated with respect and sympathy. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff.
It took quite a long time for my husband to settle into the home, Glyn Menai, in the beginning. I know that staff and carers found him quite challenging to look after. Also, he moved into the home at the beginning of lockdown which meant that I was not allowed to visit him for one year. By now he is much settled in Glyn Menai, which is so much appreciated. And it is only thanks to the dedication and patience of all at Glyn Menai. Thank you all.
