View Full Details of Deeside Care HomeMy mum was at Deeside Care Home for 16 months. During this time she was looked after so well. She went to the dining room for meals & went to activities. Her room was beautiful. Sadly my mum passed away 6th August the staff couldnt have done more for us if they tried. If we weren't there a staff member sat with her. The carers are angels. Thank you so much for all you did for my mum & for her family.
My mother was in Deeside care home for 3 months and the service we received was excellent throughout that time. The manager and assistant manager went out of their way to help us and make sure the admission to the home went as smoothly as possible. My mother was well looked after while she was there and the staff allowed her to stay in her room for meals as that's what she preferred to do. She loved the home bakes they served every morning and evening. She started eating cooked meals again which she had stopped doing at home. Sadly my mum passed away in July and once again the care home handled that so sensitively allowing us to be with mum in her room in her own n private space for the last few days of her life. At that point they cared for us as well as mum and it made such a difference at that difficult time.
We had kept my mother in her own home for as long as possible but in the last few months she needed more care. The staff at Deeside were fantastic. They visited Mum before she moved in, let us arrange her room so that it felt like her home and even hung some of her family photos. They supported us during the transition and even arranged a family meal for us to join Mum in their fine dining suite. Mum was so well cared for and as a family we were always made welcome. We could pop in at anytime to see her. During Mum's final few days we were able to stay with her 24 hours a day. The staff were amazing caring not just for Mum but for the family too. They were professional, respectful and compassionate. I would thoroughly recommend Deeside Care Home.
Deeside was my Gran's home for the last few months of her life. The care she received was exemplary and the carers are a credit to Deeside. As a family we were always welcome. Whether it was middle of the day or later in the evening. We were taken care of too, there was always a cup of tea or juice offered!! As the time came for my Gran passing away, we were and she was cared for exceptionally well and, in terms of palliative care, I recommend 100%. Nothing was too much trouble, they accommodated for me to stay over night when we knew she was nearing the end and, that meant an awful lot. Her passing was peaceful and the care couldn't have been better.
The care my husband has received has been of the highest standard. With regards to staff they have been outstanding both in support and understanding. I would recommend Deeside Care home to others with no hesitation.
Since my mum has moved into Deeside she has improved greatly, her confident and general demeanour is amazing. She has the choice of daily activities and outings which she didn't have before. Deeside has created a cosy family environment with caring and dedicated staff. It gives us as a family great peace of mind knowing she is in a safe and caring environment.
My mother joined Deeside as a new full time resident in November 24. Everything was new to her as she'd not been on an earlier respite visit. The staff were so welcoming and encouraging to mum and have continued to be so (for all of us). After three months my mother has settled in so very well. She is happy and is in many ways healthier and is very comfortable and 'at home'. Preparing and making that huge move into a 'home' has been so very stressful. But I have to say Deeside has been wonderful.
Our dad entered Deeside Care home in December 24. He was given a warm welcome by all the staff and our interactions with staff extremely positive. We felt as a family that dad would be cared for and kept safe.
Our mother has been a resident of Deeside Care Home since February of this year. We have been extremely pleased with the care and attention she has been given. Special meant to the nurse on the 2nd floor. The home itself is well maintained and a very welcoming environment for visitors.
My mum's experience at Deeside was excellent overall. Both my mum and the family were cared for and supported well during her time there. The nursing care was outstanding and so efficient at all stages of her residency. All the staff including care, cleaning, kitchen and administrative staff were interested and reactive to any concerns or questions. Many staff who were not in a formal care position demonstrated genuine care and respect for my mum. The management of the home is highly efficient and deals with all issues raised promptly and with understanding.
I'm so glad I chose Deeside Care Home for my parents! I feel the care offered is second to none, and I'm totally confident my Mum and Dad are in safe, expert hands, with the kindest carers, nursing staff, admin team and managers. From the warmest welcome at reception and the homely atmosphere, all staff strive to help residents live to their full potential, and participate in the life of the home. The wonderful activities coordinators plan programmes of events which are inclusive for all, ensuring every day is fulfilling. The home is kept immaculate by housekeeping and maintenance staff, and my parent's nutrition has vastly improved thanks to the delicious meals. All staff go above and beyond for the residents and their families. This ethos is fostered by the wonderful manager, who takes the time to get to know and understand every resident, their family and friends and who ensures the home is run to an exceptionally high standard. My parents are very happy and settled there - thank you.
Warm and friendly atmosphere as soon as you walk in the front door. Nothing is too much trouble. Activities that are organised are well thought out, well organised and inclusive to all. Communication is excellent. Very, very clean - never any smells. Staff very friendly. Always a member of staff present subtly in the background.
Professional service, good atmosphere. Good staff. Very professional approach to residents. Well-qualified staff. A pragmatic manager synchronizes everything together. I’m sure is best care home in Aberdeen.
Mum spent 3 years at Deeside. During this time she was very well cared for and always safe. Good communication from the care team on any issues - for example, any small falls, health concerns etc. She had access to different activities, although, as her dementia moved towards the final stages this became difficult for her. During her final weeks, she was treated with kindness and dignity. Staff ensured that someone was with her holding her hand right to the very end (This meant a lot to us as we were unable to be with her at the end). Management and nursing staff are always approachable and helpful. Care team as a whole work with kindness and consideration for the residents. I have no hesitation in recommending Deeside.
We looked at a number of care homes around the Aberdeen area and opted for Deeside Care Home. Absolutely no regrets with this decision. A very modern, homely, comfortable feel about this place that we didn't get with the other homes we visited. The staff at Deeside Care Home are a credit to their profession. For the time my dad resided at the home the staff were brilliant with him, even when there were times when he probably tried the patience of a saint. I sadly can't rate the activities there as my dad was never well enough to take part in any, but if they were anything like the rest of the home then I'm sure they would be first class. I have no problem highly recommending Deeside Care Home and its staff to anyone.
My aunt's experience in Deeside Care Home was very good. She was unable to go to the dining room or join in activities, due to frailty and mobility issues, however the staff tried very hard to involve her. The care was very good, medication was prompt and she enjoyed the food. The manager is excellent with residents and relatives. Overall, a safe and secure environment with respectful and compassionate care.
After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, my father wanted to spend his final days in care so he could take the burden off us. Deeside was able to accommodate my dad despite his advanced condition at short notice and was exceptional throughout. Whilst, he was only at Deeside for 8 days before passing away, we felt comfort knowing he was being cared for in his final days. I would like to thank the manager and the Deeside team for all their care and compassion, it was much appreciated at a challenging time.
Our son has settled well at Deeside and enjoying the activities on offer. He is making a good recovery. after a long spell in hospital. We are so happy with the progress he is making. Our grateful thanks to all staff in all departments.
I visited Deeside Care Home whilst looking at care home possibilities for my uncle, who was in the hospital at that time. From the moment I met the manager, I could not have had a better experience. The management team were friendly and welcoming and made the transition from the hospital seamless. The staff have gone over and above to really help my uncle settle. This has been no easy task given he had lived independently until recently. Communication, as well as care, have both been excellent. My uncle is much more settled now, and I am very happy with Deeside Care Home. The facilities are lovely, and my uncle also enjoys the super meals. I am hoping that comes a time, he will join in with activities as I see a varied programme provided by hard-working activity coordinators. Thank you to everyone.
My dad had terminal cancer and was no longer able to stay at home due to coming to the end of his life and needing palliative care. I wasn’t initially sure about this, as I wanted Dad to stay at home and die. But after just one day at Deeside, I knew the right decision had been made! The staff and environment at Deeside are second to none! Dad spent a total of two and a half weeks at Deeside, being looked after by the fantastic and knowledgeable staff, leaving us as family members to spend quality time with our loved one without the worry of ‘caring for him’! We instead were able to share memories and stories. This wouldn’t have been possible without the confidence we had in the Deeside Care Home! We as a family couldn’t thank them or recommend them enough!
