View Full Details of Auchtercrag Care Home / Auchmacoy LodgeMy Mum is extremely happy in Auchtercrag Care home Ellon. I am well informed about her well being and any issues at all that may come up in her day to day care. She struggles with accepting personal care and the nurses and carers try so hard to help her overcome this although it can be difficult at times, they persevere. There are lots of activities for her to join in with and although I can't attend the relatives meetings due to work we are kept well informed and there are plenty opportunities for discussion on the phone or at care reviews. The dentist ,doctor and chiropodist all attend if needed. Only tricky thing for me is the hospital prescription she needs can not be sent to Ellon I have to arrange and pick it up but that is an NHS problem not the homes fault. Thanks for making mine and my Mum's life so much easier
Since mum went to live at Auchtercrag 9 months ago she has thrived under the care of the staff involved with her. She tells us there is "nowhere she would rather be" which is indeed the highest of compliments. The home is always welcoming, is kept beautifully, food is very appealing and staff interact well with residents. Staff contact me quickly with any concerns and I feel that mum is treated as an individual in the home. Very happy to recommend to any potential residents and families.
Immediately made very welcome when my husband was admitted.Staff are committed to caring for all residents&any questions or concerns are dealt with promptly. There are a very good range of activities to keep residents engaged&included. It is clear that the staff work as a team& support each other when required in the care of residents.I have no concerns regarding the care my husband is receiving.
Mum has been a resident in Auchtercrag for nearly 2 years- and we have been very happy with the level and quality of care that she has received there. The staff have been very supportive and sympathetic to her needs and general wellbeing. Communication with the family has been prompt and very helpful. We have had no concerns regarding Mum's care throughout her stay.
All Staff are very helpful and approachable and make family visiting very welcome. Mum is very well cared for. We are always updated about how Mum is doing. I know my mum is in safe hands. The food is amazing.
We were all made very welcome when mum moved in. We feel the carers and staff have got to know her very well in a short space of time. She is well cared for and has settled in a friendly environment. All staff are very approachable. We are always informed of and updated about any health issues.
Information about my husband is not volunteered when visiting. I have to try to find a person in charge, sometimes difficult and ask if I have concerns about his well-being. The carers are very friendly and presently the staffing seems to be more constant. However, the carers are not usually able to answer any concerns I might have. An example of this could be as to why he hasn't had special cream put on the dry skin on his face. I visit for 2 hours in the afternoon and am often frustrated, not being able to find the person in charge. They are often over at the main house rather than The Lodge. The lodge is an 8-bed unit, and when my husband was admitted in August 2022, I was told that the unit was autonomous with full staffing.
Both my parents are being cared for in Auchtercrag, both with different needs in care, however, they are able with support to still be together as they wish whilst both having the individual care they require. The staff have shown a great deal of care to support them with their wishes and will go out of their way to support them in this. During their time in the home, both my parents have enjoyed and benefitted from joining in some of the activities that are provided, even returning to an old hobby thought forgotten.
I feel now after 4 years of Mum being in care in Auchtercrag that I am truly happy with the care and well-being of Mum I have got to. Know the staff caring for Mum and my wishes for Mum are always carried out. Mum is always clean, tidy and beautiful as she always was before her illness. The food is very good and plentiful and there are always tea coffee biscuits and cakes. The activities in a care home are always very difficult to accommodate everyone but again that has improved immensely. I enjoy singing so I plan my visit to Mum on the day of the sing-along so I can join in I would have no hesitation now in recommending anyone who needs care to visit Auchtercrag.
My mother has been in Auchtercrag for a few years now and overall has been well looked after. She is a bit of a loner due to the Covid pandemic and the staff have tried their hardest to include her in everything they do. They also keep me informed as to what is happening ie any little incident and that is appreciated so I can inform my siblings. Would recommend this home.
My dad has been in Auchtercrag Care Home since May last year. The staff have been amazing, he is very well looked after, always clean and tidy every time I visit him. The staff are lovely, very friendly and will always keep me up to day with what he needs and how his health is. His room is spotless and his laundry is very well-washed and ironed. I am very happy with the care my dad gets at Auchtercrag, so happy he is in Auchtercrag.
I am very happy with the care of my husband. Staff are always very happy and cheery.
No complaints. Staff work really hard.
Staff friendly and helpful and attend well to my father's needs.
Mum has only been in the home a few weeks but so far her care has been exceptional. The staff are hard-working and on hand. I feel Mum's needs are being looked at and the care individual to her. Contact has also been good.
Have only been at Auchtercrag for a short time. Management have been helpful.
Both Mum and Dad are residents here. The staff make every effort to enable them to see each other and spend as much time together as possible even though they are in separate rooms and units. We are always greeted by the most friendly receptionist. How she remembers everyone's names and who their relatives are is astounding. Well done.
We visit my father who is very well cared for in Auchtercrag. He is always neat and tidy, he is safe and secure and the staff are excellent, from being met at the door to going in to my father. My father is treated with dignity and respect and so are we as visitors. An excellent service throughout.
Every time I come to visit my friend the staff are very friendly and very helpful. Always make sure my friend has everything she needs. I can't rate them high enough.
I have found Auchtercrag to deliver wonderful care for my mum. Person-centred at all times. She loves the staff and over the months has gained trust with the staff. Food, laundry and domestic duties are done professionally.
