View Full Details of Murrayfield House Care HomeMy father entered Murrayfield House on 20/08/2025 as his previous care home was under threat of closure. He was made to feel welcome at the home by friendly caring staff immediately. I fully expected this to be a difficult transition but it wasn't at all. The care my dad receives is wonderful, he has dementia and sometimes puts dirty/stained clothing on but this is always rectified immediately. He is always encouraged to participate in activities which he really enjoys. There are always lots of trips and activities to keep them busy much better than his previous home. Very happy with my decision to move him.
My mum required respite care urgently. Murrayfield House were excellent at responding quickly and getting my mum assessed and into respite care within a matter of days. Since she has been here, she has been treated with dignity and with a very high standard of care. The staff are warm and friendly, and despite the difficult circumstances, she seems happy and content.
The sad reality that Mum now requires 24-hour care has been difficult to accept as it signifies the progression of her Alzheimer's disease. Choosing a care home for Mum was a huge decision - we naturally wanted the very best for her. My sister and I were immediately impressed when we came to view the home. Brian was very helpful and understanding when he met with us. Compared to other homes we had considered, Murrayfield House was clearly far superior to them. We have been reassured that Mum is in the best environment for her needs. Staff are friendly and genuinely appear to care.
Would thoroughly recommend. My mum has been a resident here for 2 years. All staff go above and beyond their duty. There are activities there daily, if not more. There is also a cafe in the old building and my mum visits this on a daily basis.
Can't fault the professional service and care that Murrayfield House provide for my wife when she visits for a respite stay. The staff are really friendly and seem to care for those under their supervision.
Very happy with care and facilities.
Before becoming a resident the management team provided an excellent service showing me around Murrayfield House - the bedrooms, communal lounges and dining rooms and other facilities. Since becoming resident all the staff have been very friendly and the nursing and personal has been first class.
Mum came in for respite care and we were impressed so she is now a resident. She is settled and clearly well looked after. All staff are kind and helpful and any requests have been met. Her family can relax knowing she is well cared for. Would recommend to others and most importantly Mum is happy!
Beautiful gardens and home.
I think it is very good. Staff welcoming and friendly. Activity staff are helpful and caring. Happy with activities. Everything nice and clean. I am happy with carers.
On visiting the care home it is a more like a hotel than a care home. Very clean and a nice happy atmosphere. Residents all seem happy and well cared for. Activities are very good and keeps the residents active.
We have been very impressed with the standard of care provided. From the very first visit, all of the staff were warm, welcoming and genuinely attentive. They took the time to really get to know my mum as an individual which made such a difference to her confidence. Overall, the residence has provided us with peace of mind, during the transition and we are grateful for the compassion shown. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to others who are looking for high quality, person centred care. My mum is happy and settled.
Our experience of a two week respite stay at Murrayfield House was exceptional, from the booking process to the nuts and bolts of the stay itself, the whole team were kind, thoughtful and professional throughout. The experience, empathy and investment of the care staff in the comfort, well being and enjoyment of residents really struck me, the ability to build rapport around complex care requirements is a huge selling point. Thank you to the while MH team.
Excellent all round.Excellent care, very pleasant and well appointed facilities food consistency good. A pleasure to deal with.
My husband spent 2 weeks in respite in October 2024 and seemed well cared for, it was good to note familiar staff faces on his 2nd visit.
My mother had the most wonderful respite stay at Murrayfield House in December. She reported to me that all the food was delicious and she had eaten every morsel! She enjoyed all the activities and there were carol singers who had visited too. Mum always says how much kindness is shown to her and how good the care is when she stays. It provides us, her family, with great comfort to know how well cared for she is and how happy her visits to Murrayfield House make her. Thank you to all the staff.
My father feels very much at home in Murrayfield. He has formed very good relationships with all the staff who are extremely attentive and friendly. Health issues have been handled promptly by nursing staff and GP. Many thanks yo all.
Attended a birthday party for a friend who is a care home resident. Impressed by the facilities and the caring and attentive staff who provided great food and ensured that a special lady enjoyed her special day. Happy Birthday to my friend.
My wife stayed for two weeks and had a great time, staff are not 100% but 200%, always have time to talk. Rooms spotless, always cheerful staff, when my wife was leaving all the staff said goodbye and gave her a hug, little things like that show you staff really do care. You feel assured your loved one will get the best of care, keep up the good work.
Mum had 2 weeks respite at Murrayfield. Start to finish was exceptional. Dealing with Head Office (Darlington) was superb, and prompt follow-up emails. Mum's arrival was straightforward, and she was settled late afternoon. Staff particularly attentive that first night. Mum was looked after so well. Nothing was a problem - staff were patient and caring: helped with her daily exercises, kept track of medication, called GP if any queries. Helped at night-time when she needed and mornings when showering/dressing. Everyone was so pleasant, kind and gracious enough to spend time talking to Mum when she wanted. Meals were amazing! Room a decent size, great outlook onto trees and greenery (close to a nearby house whose owner practised bagpipes in the garden!) Mum made friends and loved having her hair done. She would happily return for more respite care. It's quite a weight off our minds for the future, so we're very happy to have chosen Murrayfield. Thank you to all the staff.
