My mum was recently accepted to Murrayfield House as a new resident, and the care and attention she has received has been amazing. The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff involved in mum's care, has greatly helped the transition from her own home, to Murryfield House a lot smoother. We as a
family, are very happy with our choice of Murrayfield House.

Outstanding excellent service at all times. The staff miss nothing, go the second mile and meet all needs impeccably. The atmosphere/ethos is excellent, and the activities are paced to meet the residents' needs and wants. The sense of community is amazing. Facilities, food, opportunities to celebrate
anything taken with both hands. Care is fantastic and completely amazing. It has meant that my friend is happy and able to live in a secure, supportive environment. A huge difference to living a scared and lonely life.

My mum has been here for just 2 weeks, but no matter whom we've come into contact with we can't speak highly enough of all staff. All the carers, cleaners and nurses have shown nothing but patience and kindness. We know my mum is well cared for and safe. We love it here!

My Mum lived at Murrayfield House, in the Blinkbonny Unit there, for over 4 years until she died in January 2026. She had progressive Parkinson's, so she needed a lot of care. Her care here was superb. She settled in quickly, with no real issues around the transition, and she remained content and settled
for the whole of her time here. We felt that she was really well looked after. The staff were lovely, from the nurses in charge to the carers, the tea lady and the domestic staff. There was really good continuity of staffing, with several of the same nursing and care staff there throughout Mum's time there. Her room was lovely. Family members were always well looked after, too, during visits. Mum's final few weeks before her passing were really well managed by the staff. They ensured that she was peaceful and comfortable to the end and that we were kept aware of the situation, with the result that we could all be there with her at the end.

Highly recommended.

My father entered Murrayfield House on 20/08/2025 as his previous care home was under threat of closure. He was made to feel welcome at the home by friendly caring staff immediately. I fully expected this to be a difficult transition but it wasn't at all. The care my dad receives is wonderful, he has
dementia and sometimes puts dirty/stained clothing on but this is always rectified immediately. He is always encouraged to participate in activities which he really enjoys. There are always lots of trips and activities to keep them busy much better than his previous home. Very happy with my decision to move him.

My mum required respite care urgently. Murrayfield House were excellent at responding quickly and getting my mum assessed and into respite care within a matter of days. Since she has been here, she has been treated with dignity and with a very high standard of care. The staff are warm and friendly,
and despite the difficult circumstances, she seems happy and content.

The sad reality that Mum now requires 24-hour care has been difficult to accept as it signifies the progression of her Alzheimer's disease. Choosing a care home for Mum was a huge decision - we naturally wanted the very best for her. My sister and I were immediately impressed when we came to view the
home. Brian was very helpful and understanding when he met with us. Compared to other homes we had considered, Murrayfield House was clearly far superior to them. We have been reassured that Mum is in the best environment for her needs. Staff are friendly and genuinely appear to care.

Would thoroughly recommend. My mum has been a resident here for 2 years. All staff go above and beyond their duty. There are activities there daily, if not more. There is also a cafe in the old building and my mum visits this on a daily basis.

Before becoming a resident the management team provided an excellent service showing me around Murrayfield House - the bedrooms, communal lounges and dining rooms and other facilities. Since becoming resident all the staff have been very friendly and the nursing and personal has been first class.

We have been very impressed with the standard of care provided. From the very first visit, all of the staff were warm, welcoming and genuinely attentive. They took the time to really get to know my mum as an individual which made such a difference to her confidence. Overall, the residence has provided
us with peace of mind, during the transition and we are grateful for the compassion shown. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to others who are looking for high quality, person centred care. My mum is happy and settled.

Our experience of a two week respite stay at Murrayfield House was exceptional, from the booking process to the nuts and bolts of the stay itself, the whole team were kind, thoughtful and professional throughout. The experience, empathy and investment of the care staff in the comfort, well being and
enjoyment of residents really struck me, the ability to build rapport around complex care requirements is a huge selling point. Thank you to the while MH team.

My mother had the most wonderful respite stay at Murrayfield House in December. She reported to me that all the food was delicious and she had eaten every morsel! She enjoyed all the activities and there were carol singers who had visited too. Mum always says how much kindness is shown to her and how
good the care is when she stays. It provides us, her family, with great comfort to know how well cared for she is and how happy her visits to Murrayfield House make her. Thank you to all the staff.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.699)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.699) out of 10 for Murrayfield House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 24 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.699 for Murrayfield House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (209 Excellents x 5) + (61 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 282 Ratings = 4.699
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Murrayfield House Care Home is based on 24 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 100 registered maximum number of service users is 20, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
