Our friend is well looked after and is happy in her environment. The carers do all they can to make her comfortable and secure, despite fewer staff being around.

We couldn't have been more pleased with the care my father has received at Murrayfield House Care Home. His words are 'what a beautiful place this is and my room is lovely. I have enjoyed my food and the good laughs I have had with the staff while being here for only five weeks'.

Thanks again and well recommended.

I cannot praise both the home and staff enough, the care given to my father really is outstanding. He is a very independent person and that is very much catered for while still ensuring he has the care needed. The food is excellent and the opportunity to dine there with your family member on occasion is much appreciated. The grounds around the home are magnificent and it is great to be able to go around them and the cafe in the main building is looking out over a lovely courtyard. Although he chooses not to socialise very much, the opportunity is there. It is also very easy for friends to take him out for lunch or even a visit to the theatre! I would highly recommend Murrayfield House for people who need this type of care and accommodation, it certainly provides peace of mind to relatives.

A well-run establishment nicely situated in a leafy suburb close to Edinburgh city centre. There is plenty of public transport nearly - buses and trains. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is good and there is a cafe on site in which to meet. Overall, a well-run ship as far as I can tell.

My relative has blossomed since her arrival at the home after months in hospital following a stroke. She was thin and unhappy. In the home she has responded to good, solicitous care, appetising food and arranged activities. She enjoys the company of other residents, sitting in the lounge in the sun reading and walking in the courtyard. The staff are always happy to assist her and us when we visit. Thanks are due to them all.

My stepmother had been a resident of Murrayfield House Care Home since December 2016. Throughout her time she was cared for in a most loving and dignified way. Her happiness was due to the hard work and dedication of all staff members and for that, her family will always be in their debt. Thank you.

My dad has now been receiving care at Murrayfield House for over 8 months. I am grateful to have found a care home with a good-sized room suitable for his complex staff led by calm, wise nurses and regular contact with other residents. As they have been getting to know my dad, they have become more able to understand his emotional needs as well as physical. His anxiety would be helped by staff coming into his room more frequently.

I am so happy with the care that my dad is receiving. I no longer have to worry and can enjoy this precious remaining time as his daughter, not his carer. My dad is clearly happy and frequently says it's a lovely place. All the staff are kind and cheery. I like the tone of time spent by residents in their rooms, supplemented as they wish by dining in a social setting and social activities. This feels to me to be like dignified normal life at home. Even if Dad is not able to join in with activities, there are frequently staff popping into his room.

I am delighted with the care my mother (who suffers from vascular Alzheimers) is receiving at Murrayfield Care Home. The nurses and carers are so kind to her and to us as family. It is an enormous relief for me to know that she is receiving the best possible care. Thank you all.

My dad has recently moved into Murrayfield House Nursing Home. A much better transition than we hoped. We were all anxious. My dad is a very important part of our extended family. We know he needed more help and as he loves company and people, we hoped that he would enjoy and thrive on the extra stimulation. It has been hard on Mum. She misses him, however, everyone has been marvelous. Top class and caring. So caring to my mum, who feels very welcome each visit.

My mum has been very happy in Murrayfield House and often remarks that 'it's very nice here'. The setting is particularly attractive - the gardens, trees and grounds are well kept and Mum particularly likes looking out on this green space. Staff are friendly and I have often observed their kind interactions with both my mum and other residents.

The greatest strength of this care home is the quality of the staff. The fondness that they show my wife and the welcoming one receives when visiting makes a difficult situation very much easier.

In recent weeks we have been allowed compassionate visits as Mum is bedbound and increasingly frail. We got a lovely surprise when visiting and found Mum fully dressed and waiting in a wheelchair outside for our visit. It was great to take her for a walk and appreciate the effort the staff had taken to do this.

Mum was admitted into Murrayfield House straight from hospital. The manager was quick to respond to our need to get a room ready for Mum. The kindness of staff helped her through the difficult period of isolation when family were unable to visit. One evening a staff member just sat with Mum for a while which made a huge difference to her. She loves company. Mum has received two doses of the Covid vaccine and when she felt unwell after the second one, again a member of staff was there to comfort her.
Initially, when Mum was unfamiliar with the menu, the staff prepared two options to enable Mum to choose food.
Attention to detail of residents needs takes in everything, including the hand washing of cashmere. This is important to the resident's comfort and general sense of feeling like themselves. Mum always looks so cared for in every sense.

Despite the current situation staff are celebrating many events with the residents, these include Christmas, Burns night and Valentines Day.
