Located within a leafy suburb of Edinburgh, Murrayfield House Care Home is a beautiful Grade A listed building complete with a purpose-built extension. Murrayfield House is a 100 bedded care home offering nursing, nursing dementia and residential care.

At Murrayfield House Care Home residents have a choice of lounge areas which feature comfortable and specially designed furnishings or residents may choose to visit the café with friends or relatives.

The home has a range of comfortable and well-equipped bedrooms; most rooms also have views across the garden whilst others overlook the courtyard.

My mum came into the home in August 2022 and has received excellent care from day one. All staff are extremely caring, attentive and friendly to her. Importantly, when we speak to them (all staff chat to us), it is clear that carers and housekeeping staff have taken time to get to know Mum. They understand
what she likes and what she can and can’t do - helping answer her phone or position her great-grandson’s picture are tasks they are only too pleased to do! The events staff are great for all residents and Mum, in particular, really appreciates the efforts made to get her involved in a range of activities - there is a significant benefit in her being out of her room and interacting with other residents. Mum has some complex medical needs and the nursing staff are always available to discuss any issues, often proactively calling to update me.
Overall, I would highly recommend Murrayfield House in terms of the accommodation, facilities and above all, the standard of care provided.

I am very happy with the care Dad receives. The staff are attentive to his needs and I feel that they know him well. Communication from care/nursing staff and management is excellent and very supportive. Thank you all for doing such a great job.

We couldn't have been more pleased with the care my father has received at Murrayfield House Care Home. His words are 'what a beautiful place this is and my room is lovely. I have enjoyed my food and the good laughs I have had with the staff while being here for only five weeks'.

I cannot praise both the home and staff enough, the care given to my father really is outstanding. He is a very independent person and that is very much catered for while still ensuring he has the care needed. The food is excellent and the opportunity to dine there with your family member on occasion
is much appreciated. The grounds around the home are magnificent and it is great to be able to go around them and the cafe in the main building is looking out over a lovely courtyard. Although he chooses not to socialise very much, the opportunity is there. It is also very easy for friends to take him out for lunch or even a visit to the theatre! I would highly recommend Murrayfield House for people who need this type of care and accommodation, it certainly provides peace of mind to relatives.

A well-run establishment nicely situated in a leafy suburb close to Edinburgh city centre. There is plenty of public transport nearly - buses and trains. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is good and there is a cafe on site in which to meet. Overall, a well-run ship as far as I can tell.

My relative has blossomed since her arrival at the home after months in hospital following a stroke. She was thin and unhappy. In the home she has responded to good, solicitous care, appetising food and arranged activities. She enjoys the company of other residents, sitting in the lounge in the sun
reading and walking in the courtyard. The staff are always happy to assist her and us when we visit. Thanks are due to them all.

My stepmother had been a resident of Murrayfield House Care Home since December 2016. Throughout her time she was cared for in a most loving and dignified way. Her happiness was due to the hard work and dedication of all staff members and for that, her family will always be in their debt. Thank you.

My dad has now been receiving care at Murrayfield House for over 8 months. I am grateful to have found a care home with a good-sized room suitable for his complex staff led by calm, wise nurses and regular contact with other residents. As they have been getting to know my dad, they have become more
able to understand his emotional needs as well as physical. His anxiety would be helped by staff coming into his room more frequently.

I am so happy with the care that my dad is receiving. I no longer have to worry and can enjoy this precious remaining time as his daughter, not his carer. My dad is clearly happy and frequently says it's a lovely place. All the staff are kind and cheery. I like the tone of time spent by residents in
their rooms, supplemented as they wish by dining in a social setting and social activities. This feels to me to be like dignified normal life at home. Even if Dad is not able to join in with activities, there are frequently staff popping into his room.

I am delighted with the care my mother (who suffers from vascular Alzheimers) is receiving at Murrayfield Care Home. The nurses and carers are so kind to her and to us as family. It is an enormous relief for me to know that she is receiving the best possible care. Thank you all.

My dad has recently moved into Murrayfield House Nursing Home. A much better transition than we hoped. We were all anxious. My dad is a very important part of our extended family. We know he needed more help and as he loves company and people, we hoped that he would enjoy and thrive on the extra stimulation.
It has been hard on Mum. She misses him, however, everyone has been marvelous. Top class and caring. So caring to my mum, who feels very welcome each visit.

My mum has been very happy in Murrayfield House and often remarks that 'it's very nice here'. The setting is particularly attractive - the gardens, trees and grounds are well kept and Mum particularly likes looking out on this green space. Staff are friendly and I have often observed their kind interactions
with both my mum and other residents.

In recent weeks we have been allowed compassionate visits as Mum is bedbound and increasingly frail. We got a lovely surprise when visiting and found Mum fully dressed and waiting in a wheelchair outside for our visit. It was great to take her for a walk and appreciate the effort the staff had taken
to do this.
