Murrayfield House Care Home

My mum has been very happy in Murrayfield House and often remarks that 'it's very nice here'. The setting is particularly attractive - the gardens, trees and grounds are well kept and Mum particularly likes looking out on this green space. Staff are friendly and I have often observed their kind interactions with both my mum and other residents.

The greatest strength of this care home is the quality of the staff. The fondness that they show my wife and the welcoming one receives when visiting makes a difficult situation very much easier.

In recent weeks we have been allowed compassionate visits as Mum is bedbound and increasingly frail. We got a lovely surprise when visiting and found Mum fully dressed and waiting in a wheelchair outside for our visit. It was great to take her for a walk and appreciate the effort the staff had taken to do this.

I have always found the level of care at Murrayfield House to be excellent. The staff are always professional, helpful and contactable. They provide regular updates on my relative's condition and throughout the COVID pandemic, have coped superbly.

Delighted with the care that my uncle is receiving. The staff are very helpful and so obliging. The care home is very well managed and clean. It is a joy to visit.

Despite the current situation staff are celebrating many events with the residents, these include Christmas, Burns night and Valentines Day.

I thoroughly recommend Murrayfield House. It really is 5-star care in a wonderful setting with fantastic staff.

It is difficult to describe my experience as access in the recent covid situation, has been restricted. However, I must say when access was permitted, I was happy with all measures taken. My friend is well cared for and she is happy with her care.

The staff have been so welcoming and accommodating. She is now settled and well cared for. She is looking really well.

The combination of consummate professionalism, agility, empathy and friendliness of the staff sets a very high bar for the industry. You dealt with an acute need seamlessly and my father and I are truly grateful.

I do feel that management communication could be improved, there is a tendency to blame 'head office' (HC One is a large organisation) rather than address questions and comments locally with the relatives involved, and the level of communication through these challenging times (in terms of updates and information) could have been better.

Extremely pleased with the wonderful care and attention my aunt receives at Murrayfield House. The staff are so warm and friendly and work so hard to make her stay a home from home. My mum has been in Murrayfield Care Home for two years and I have never had any concerns in that time. Nor have any of the family who visit. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. I visit my mum regularly so have had ample opportunity to see that all the residents are treated with care and compassion. Family and friends and all made to feel welcome.

The overall arrangements for the care home are in a properly connected set up. As well as continuous set up of a good system of food at all times. The experience, in general, is high with regards to cleanliness overall. Items of furniture and toilet arrangements are kept at a good level of care. Items of bedroom matters are kept at a good state of condition and comfort.

I feel safe and comfortable. The staff are friendly, enthusiastic and will always go out of their way to ensure comfort and everything is to hand. Food - good days and bad.

Relating to the lockdown period for COVID-19, my brother has been well looked after, and extras I personally did in care well taken over. I have been well informed over the last four months of lockdown (March - July), phoning the unit regularly, and getting some Skype calls to "see" my brother. When something went wrong with his special air chair a few days ago I was informed and able to get quick action taken by the company that had bought it from to remedy the problem and get the chair useable again within a few days. Today was my first "garden" distanced visit. Very well organised. Staff have been very caring for both my brother and me over this difficult time. I have felt appropriately valued.

No complaints at all. Very supportive and understanding carers.

I can highly recommend every department of this wonderful care home and that high recommendation, therefore speaks very clearly of the excellent and prolonged management here. This care home is for me the answer to all my prayers hopes and dreams I am so happy here.

I am very happy with the care provided to my dad at Murrayfield House Care Home. The staff are dedicated and provide a very good service. My dad is not the easiest person to deal with and the staff show great patience and support in caring for him.
