At Murrayfield House Care Home residents have a choice of lounge areas which feature comfortable and specially designed furnishings or residents may choose to visit the café with friends or relatives.

The home has a range of comfortable and well-equipped bedrooms; most rooms also have views across the garden whilst others overlook the courtyard.

Relating to the lockdown period for COVID-19, my brother has been well looked after, and extras I personally did in care well taken over. I have been well informed over the last four months of lockdown (March - July), phoning the unit regularly, and getting some Skype calls to "see" my brother. When
something went wrong with his special air chair a few days ago I was informed and able to get quick action taken by the company that had bought it from to remedy the problem and get the chair useable again within a few days. Today was my first "garden" distanced visit. Very well organised. Staff have been very caring for both my brother and me over this difficult time. I have felt appropriately valued.

I can highly recommend every department of this wonderful care home and that high recommendation, therefore speaks very clearly of the excellent and prolonged management here. This care home is for me the answer to all my prayers hopes and dreams I am so happy here.

I am very happy with the care provided to my dad at Murrayfield House Care Home. The staff are dedicated and provide a very good service. My dad is not the easiest person to deal with and the staff show great patience and support in caring for him.

Murrayfield House Care Home gives out the feeling of friendliness and care. The staff are cheerful and interested in visitors in a genuine way. The care home is furnished with great care in their choice of local pictures and a good mixture of genuine old masters paintings. The dining area for the residents
is set out in small groups of 4 or 5 people and beautifully with linen tablecloths and large linen napkins. There is a really small forest area with adequate paths for walking. There is a regular chance for discussion and feedback between staff and residents. An extensive programme of activities for all the residents, and also a visiting dog or other animals, for those that want it. The residents also enjoy the visits from 3 to 5year old children from the local school and at other times the visits from 15-year- old children from the same school. We all enjoy some superb musical entertainment from top-class musicians.

Straight away from Dad being referred to yourselves, I was impressed by how he was at the centre of planning and care and how he was received on admission. My sister and I were so pleased with his care. He improved greatly in your care and we hope to have him permanently with you.

My aunt became a resident at Murrayfield after her discharge from hospital following surgery for a fractured hip and she was also suffering from post-operative infection and swelling. The nursing staff, one lady, in particular, have done a remarkable job to restore my aunt's health and well being to
a stable condition. I am really impressed by the attention and compassion shown by all the nursing staff, carers and administrative office.
Knowing that my aunt is benefitting from the best care possible for the multiple health conditions she suffers from, is truly a Godsend and provides peace of mind knowing how well she is being cared for.

In the morning the staff should not open the door, switch on the light and demand the resident gets up straight away and choose their clothes. When being showered and then cleaning her teeth she is given a cup to spit in and clean her brush. Also given a flannel with old water to wash her face. Not
a good enough start to the day.

Throughout her stay, until she died in January 2019. The care given to my wife was faultless. The carers carried out their professional duties in a way which showed their care for her and an individual. She could not have been in better hands and the care which all the staff gave to her was generously

I cannot praise this Care Home highly enough. My mother has been incredibly well looked after during her time there. Although she is now bed-bound, until recently she has engaged with the staff and other residents and participated fully in activities. The food is great and the rooms are lovely. The
place and the staff are so welcoming and treat us all as part of the family.

My experience of the care home has been pleasant and friendly and they do their best for my sister.
My only misgiving is that she appears to be unable or unwilling to enter into any spirit of the activities and is therefore not getting the benefit of the care home experience.
