Located within a leafy suburb of Edinburgh, Murrayfield House Care Home is a beautiful Grade A listed building complete with a purpose-built extension. Murrayfield House is a 100 bedded care home offering nursing, nursing dementia and residential care.

At Murrayfield House Care Home residents have a choice of lounge areas which feature comfortable and specially designed furnishings or residents may choose to visit the café with friends or relatives.

The home has a range of comfortable and well-equipped bedrooms; most rooms also have views across the garden whilst others overlook the courtyard.

My mother was a resident at Murrayfield House for 1 year 8 months. The staff were kind and helped her settle and despite her many demands for help (through her family) they looked after her well and the nursing staff managed her sodium level for the first time in many years. She didn't want to be there
but in the circumstances, it was the best choice and we would choose the same home again if we had her time over. She lived with dignity to the end.

The care my mother receives is extremely good and the staff are very caring, professional and friendly. My mother is much happier since her move to the care home as she has people to talk to. There are interesting and appropriate activities arranged. She is happy with her room there and enjoys the meals.

Nice staff. Meals are good but sometimes meat can be a bit tough. Love the pet therapy. I like that I am escorted to appointments.

My mum has only been in The Murrayfield Nursing Home for eight weeks but what a difference it has made. Before she was housebound and only had contact with her carers four times a day. Now the nurses and care assistants spend time speaking to her at all times of the day which means she is more mentally
stimulated than before.
She participates in activities run in the nursing home and goes out in the minibus visiting alpacas, barge trips etc. During the lovely weather, she was outside which would never have happened at home.
Although my mum was set against going into a nursing home, she is now settled, enjoys the care and company and indeed has said after an outing 'home again' which are words I never thought I'd hear!

My mother has been a resident for some three and a half years and suffers from dementia. After a settling in period, she has now fully accepted that this is her home. This acceptance is entirely due to the staff and management who have worked hard to make it happen in a quiet and efficient manner exercised
with patience and grace. The care and facilities are first class which gives peace of mind to relatives knowing that their loved ones are safe, comfortable and in receipt of the help that they require.

My husband was a resident here for two years and was looked after very well. The staff were fantastic, caring and special - treating him with dignity at all times. They also looked after our family.

The standards of care, accommodation and food have always been high - as one expects.

Staff are in my view unstintingly respectful towards my father and deal with my father's health condition in a sympathetic and generous fashion. I love that everyone knows his name and never pass without saying hello. I do wish that my Dad had more one to one time with staff as he finds socialising
with other residents difficult due to his health, but appreciate why this cannot be the case. I know my Dad is well cared for and I appreciate the support staff are prepared to offer us as a family. Thank you all!

The home staff are very helpful and friendly, both for the resident and also for the family. As a new resident, the home has made the transition to life here very easy and in a calm manner. The admin team has been very helpful and is very efficient.

Our mother moved into Murrayfield House at the beginning of September 2017. She moved from her home in Ayr after living there for 49 years. She is now near my sister and I and we feel it has been a very positive move for mum. She has settled in well, her additional needs are met extremely well and she
is able to see much more of her close family.
We are extremely impressed with the lovely staff, nurses and front of house reception and cleaners etc...
The café is a great place to meet for lunch. Very happy.
