Staff are in my view unstintingly respectful towards my father and deal with my father's health condition in a sympathetic and generous fashion. I love that everyone knows his name and never pass without saying hello. I do wish that my Dad had more one to one time with staff as he finds socialising with other residents difficult due to his health, but appreciate why this cannot be the case. I know my Dad is well cared for and I appreciate the support staff are prepared to offer us as a family. Thank you all!

The home staff are very helpful and friendly, both for the resident and also for the family. As a new resident, the home has made the transition to life here very easy and in a calm manner. The admin team has been very helpful and is very efficient.

Our mother moved into Murrayfield House at the beginning of September 2017. She moved from her home in Ayr after living there for 49 years. She is now near my sister and I and we feel it has been a very positive move for mum. She has settled in well, her additional needs are met extremely well and she is able to see much more of her close family.
We are extremely impressed with the lovely staff, nurses and front of house reception and cleaners etc...

The café is a great place to meet for lunch. Very happy.

I have found all staff friendly and welcoming from my first visit to date. From my first visit when I was shown around, I have had a good impression of all areas of the home. We were offered respite care to help my friend to get to know the home before deciding to accept a permanent place.
Nothing is too much trouble and there are genuine offers of help at every stage.

The whole experience of helping my friend move into care has been made as stress-free for both of us as possible.

When my mother arrived at the care home after being in hospital she had no appetite and had lost a lot of weight.
The nursing staff did all they could to encourage Mum to eat, even providing foods she would eat, even though not on their standard menus.

They also supplemented her diet and she did gain a little weight. The staff were very understanding and supportive and made sure Mum was joining in the activities and was well looked after. The staff were very approachable, friendly and open to us too.

The level of care is above average having care from a care home where calling for help was not responded to. The staff go out their way to provide home comforts and personal care and support.

Review from Elaine O (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 26 September 2017 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Excellent, friendly, supportive and fabulous care for my father-in-law. We as a family could not ask for better care for my father-in-law or for the help and care shown to my mother-in-law.
From the day my father-in-law went into the professional, wonderful care of Murrayfield House, his health improved as did my mother-in-law's. We were looked after as a whole family by all the staff. Nurses, carers, cleaners, hairdresser, admin staff every person you came into contact with was helpful, friendly and caring.

It was a very stressful time when my father-in-law had to go into care, as a family we did not make this decision lightly. Murrayfield House could not have made this process any easier for us, they were helpful, supportive and informative. They took my father-in-law and made him and all of the family part of their caring family. We could not have asked for better care and support.

Review from Ruth N (Daughter of Resident) published on 24 July 2017 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Dad passed away on 9 July 2017 - his decline much faster than expected following a recent cancer diagnosis. The kindness, care, compassion, and respect shown by the staff towards Dad during his short stay (3 weeks, 5 days) was truly outstanding. He arrived in pain, anxious and fearful of the future after 54 years in his own home, the last 3 with an intensive care package as the family, spread far and wide, visited in rotation to keep him at home. He died, aged 90, in peace and tranquillity, pain-free and with great dignity, surrounded by us all. The staff were sensitive and discreet - yet shared their humour, professionalism and expertise. This included everyone - the cleaners, the carers, and the qualified staff. Their demeanour let complete trust flourish - both from Dad and from us as a family. They stand as an example of true kindness, caring and interdisciplinary team work from top managerial level, down to the staff on the front line. We will always remember them.
