I have found all staff friendly and welcoming from my first visit to date. From my first visit when I was shown around, I have had a good impression of all areas of the home. We were offered respite care to help my friend to get to know the home before deciding to accept a permanent place.
Nothing
is too much trouble and there are genuine offers of help at every stage.
The whole experience of helping my friend move into care has been made as stress-free for both of us as possible.

When my mother arrived at the care home after being in hospital she had no appetite and had lost a lot of weight.
The nursing staff did all they could to encourage Mum to eat, even providing foods she would eat, even though not on their standard menus.
They also supplemented her diet and she did gain
a little weight. The staff were very understanding and supportive and made sure Mum was joining in the activities and was well looked after. The staff were very approachable, friendly and open to us too.

Excellent, friendly, supportive and fabulous care for my father-in-law. We as a family could not ask for better care for my father-in-law or for the help and care shown to my mother-in-law.
From the day my father-in-law went into the professional, wonderful care of Murrayfield House, his health improved
as did my mother-in-law's. We were looked after as a whole family by all the staff. Nurses, carers, cleaners, hairdresser, admin staff every person you came into contact with was helpful, friendly and caring.
It was a very stressful time when my father-in-law had to go into care, as a family we did not make this decision lightly. Murrayfield House could not have made this process any easier for us, they were helpful, supportive and informative. They took my father-in-law and made him and all of the family part of their caring family. We could not have asked for better care and support.

Dad passed away on 9 July 2017 - his decline much faster than expected following a recent cancer diagnosis. The kindness, care, compassion, and respect shown by the staff towards Dad during his short stay (3 weeks, 5 days) was truly outstanding. He arrived in pain, anxious and fearful of the future
after 54 years in his own home, the last 3 with an intensive care package as the family, spread far and wide, visited in rotation to keep him at home. He died, aged 90, in peace and tranquillity, pain-free and with great dignity, surrounded by us all. The staff were sensitive and discreet - yet shared their humour, professionalism and expertise. This included everyone - the cleaners, the carers, and the qualified staff. Their demeanour let complete trust flourish - both from Dad and from us as a family. They stand as an example of true kindness, caring and interdisciplinary team work from top managerial level, down to the staff on the front line. We will always remember them.

After reviewing several care homes Murrayfield House Care Home was at the top of our list. The staff were fantastic nothing was any trouble for the residents or the visiting friends and family.
I noticed that the young members of staff were willing to put themselves out and spend quality time with
the residents. Also on the medical side tablets/wounds etc always dealt with on time with care and compassion.

My husband suffered a stroke in November 2015 which left him without power in his right arm and leg and without speech. He spent a period of 3 1/2 months in the hospital and then I arranged admission to care. On admission, he was able to stand but due to the fact he would not accept physiotherapy and
also health and safety issues within the home, he lost that ability. He did well until last summer when he had a spell, he refused to get out of bed and went backwards, developed a bedsore etc. However, he is now doing well with the right medication, good care and physio. Generally speaking, the care is good, homely atmosphere and kindly.

My family and I are very happy with the care that my mother has received over the past 16 months. The nursing staff and carers are genuinely kind and attentive. Mum enjoys most of the food especially the soups! the staff are very responsive to all of us.

The rooms are a good size and much like a home from home. Additional availability of guest seating would be beneficial for us a family when visiting. We appreciate the openness of staff members and management on connection with impromptu requests for status updates on our father at critical points.
The level of cleanliness within the home is superb.
One small point I would share is that the nameplate on each room appears to be capable of having an engraved insert with the resident's name on it. This would be preferable to a sticker with the name, which is on top of the remains of previous stickers. That would have given a better first impression of each room to visitors.

My husband has been looked after superbly. When he was admitted, the family and the doctor agreed to withdraw all medication so that he could slip away in peace. Since then, due to the wonderful care he has received, he has rallied and is now very comfortable, although still confused but has a very

Following a period of rehabilitation in the Bluebell unit in Dundee, my dad relocated to Edinburgh to be nearer family and what a joy it is to have him so close by. The family has had a traumatic year but once again HC have come up trumps. Murrayfield staff greeted us so warmly last weekend and made
a difficult weekend extremely easy. My dad has settled so quickly and tells us he is enjoying 5-star service! His room is spacious, clean and well appointed. The quality of food is excellent and the choice endless. Even if dad does not like the choices on offer staff will prepare alternatives. When we visit, staff greet us warmly and tell us what dad has been up to. When he lost a filling this week, staff quickly organised a dentist appointment and informed us immediately. He is so much happier and we know he is enjoying the company, even although he is still reluctant to join in with activities. The entertainment coordinator keeps going back and encouraging him, so we know it won't be long!

Staff are very friendly to mum. Nothing is too much trouble for them, and always happy to help. They treat mum as an individual as they know her character. The same can be said for how they treat all residents.
