My Mum has been a resident since Jan.2025. At first she was in a small but adequate room. It was always clean and tidy and what was impressive was that no matter what time you dropped in she was always clean and well dressed. The staff seemed to recognise her needs and were communicative.
She has
been bedbound now for a year and has recently been moved to a larger en suite sun-lit room.
I couldn't be happier with her care.

I would like to take this opportunity to highlight the exceptional level of care and dedication provided to my mum at a very difficult time by an amazing staff team. The level of dedication provided by the staff team was unwavering and outstanding. The management/nursing team kept us informed at
every stage and guided and supported the family through a very emotional time.
We are extremely grateful to all the staff, our heartfelt thanks to you all.

A recent visit to see my mum at Argyle Care Home found her enjoying a singalong to the visiting singer . She and her fellow companions were singing, dancing and clapping along as Stewart belted out the Golden Oldies . It is wonderful to see everyone including the staff interacting and having so
much fun . Mum is so settled and i believe is very much part of the community spirit of the home . Recently redecorated and furnished to a high standard the home is bright, very clean and smells fresh . A big thank you to all the staff, the management for keeping me informed of any developments . Administration for mum's needs, nurses for mum's health and carers and cleaners for mum's day to day care . Can't forget the catering staff especially as mum is a bit fussy with her food . I feel mum is very well fed, clean and dressed so well . She is happy and content and has no concerns . Thank you .

The care and attention from all care home staff at The Argle in connection with my mother in law's 90th birthday today was nothing short of exceptional and deserves the highest commendation, as well as the family's sincere thanks at gratitude.

A massive thank you to all the staff at Argyl care home. Our Mum stayed for a shortime while Dad was in hospital. The warm and caring staff looked after Mum beautifully during a confusing and unexpected time for her. Their care extended to us when we visited. We cant thank you enough. You are all
doing a fantastic job!

My wife had a fall last Thursday and was in a lot of pain so an ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital. I was notified and my son and I made our way down.
When we arrived Jean had been X-rayed and thankfully nothing was broken, just bruising.
She had been accompanied to the hospital by
a young man, a carer, whom I thought would leave when we arrived, but no, he stayed with Jean keeping her calm, making sure she was well hydrated and brought her a nice chicken sandwich. He then informed us that another carer was due to arrive to relieve him as his shift had ended. When the other carer arrived we were then told that transport back to the home would not be available until around 2.00 am, it was currently 8.30 pm. After discussing the situation with both the nurse and the carer it was decided to get Jean dressed and we would take her back in the car, assisted by the carer who then got Jean settled in her room.
The kindness shown by both carers was just outstanding.

All of the staff at the Argyle Care Home are incredibly warm, helpful and caring. They helped immensely in getting my grandfather settled in when he first arrived, initially he was incredibly unsettled in a new environment with new people, but the staff were incredibly patient with him and let him
go at his own pace with regards to socialising and integrating more within the home. They listened when told of his previous routines at home and helped accommodate this, for example with his little nap times, which helped him feel really at home. He has a great relationship with all staff within the care home, their interactions with him are lovely for us to see, it is clear that he is completely comfortable with everyone there. He has told me he loves the food provided, and everywhere is always very clean and tidy.

Admitted due to severe infection, which caused delirium episodes. Monitored, liaised with wife, local GPs as necessary. Engaged with activities, enjoyed delicious meals,
Staff were friendly, caring and supportive.

Mum has now been a resident for over a year. I am extremely happy with the level of care she has been given during this time. All the staff are so friendly and caring, you can see they all want to make the Care Home a good place to be. I am very impressed with the new manager who is going out of her
way to improve all aspects of life in the home. Walking in the main door is a pleasant experience, the place is always warm and smells fresh. Mum's room is bright and always clean and tidy. Overall I feel it is a happy place and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place for their relative.

Our genuine thanks to all the staff and residents of The Argyle Care Home who were so welcoming to my father during his respite visit last month. We've had mixed experiences elsewhere for respite so Dad was nervous but from the pre visit to his exit everyone was kind, respectful and interested.
Thanks also for accommodating his multiple requests for a bath - a simple experience he misses as it isn't so simple at home. We are hoping to arrange for another stay in the summer.

I just wanted to write as I cant express enough praise! For the staff at Argyll care home, my father has very recently moved in, and the amount of time and care and attention that my father receives is unmatched! Putting my father into care was so hard!! Especially for my mum and sister and nephew.
I was also worried but as soon as I seen my dad a wave of calm came over me, I have worked in the care industry so I understand the pressure and frustration and patience it takes to run a care home, the staff are exceptional and I can't thank them enough. You guys are doing such a wonderful job with my dad. And the amount of updates! Is amazing. The staff deserve to know they are so appreciated

My sister, who suffers from dementia moved into the care home in December 2023. For me, one the most important points is that my sister is happy, safe and healthy. The staff are just great, they are calm, kind, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and fun. My sister loves the care home and I have
witnessed a marked difference in her health since becoming a resident. She partakes in all the activities, which she really enjoys, and the competent staff treat her with kindness and patience. Finally, the communication between the family and the care home is very good. Any queries or questions I have are dealt with quickly. I could not ask for more and both the family and my sister are very pleased and satisfied. Thank you to the staff and management for making this such a welcoming place, keep up the good work.

The staff are excellent, friendly, approachable and helpful. My relative has shown much improvement in her condition since she went into the home for which I am very thankful. The home appears efficiently run within the restraints of finances available though more information about the finances of
the home would be appreciated. I would express my gratitude to the staff, management and owners for their work.

Although my grandmother has only been at the home a few weeks I have been very pleased about the settling in dye to such kind, competent staff. She is very praising of the food and comments frequently that the girls are lovely (I'm sure she likes the boys too!). Well done Argyle Care Home.

My husband is very happy at The Argyle Care Home. The staff do an excellent job looking after him. As a family we are more than happy with the care he receives.
07 June 2024
This review is not related to any specific matter or incident, but rather the overall improvement in general conditions, in my opinion, that have taken place over the last six months or so.
Had I been submitting a review for the year 2023 then I doubt I could have given a rating higher than two
stars.
The home now has a more organised feel to it, with staff appearing interested and involved, any requests made during visiting being dealt with at the time, where possible. Indeed, some members of staff make extra effort to be of assistance if required. In my opinion, cleanliness is much improved too; gone are the 'sticky' floors and gone also are the odours that can be pervasive in care homes. The fairly recent introduction of a hairdresser and regular visits by a chiropodist are to be commended.
I would say that the strongest recommendation for the home, the management and the staff is that Mum is happy and contented here. That's not too bad, is it.

We arrived unexpectedly to take our friend out for fresh air and coffee. We were welcomed by staff and asked to wait until they got a wheelchair and made our friend ready to go out. All our interactions with staff were positive, friendly and happy to discuss our friend's welfare in a professional,
caring manner.

Overall, we are happy with the care our Dad has received since entering The Argyle Care Home. When he first entered, the staff were so welcoming and friendly and took great care to help him settle in. We were sad to see many kind faces leave during a change in regime and be replaced by a stream of
new staff who do not interact as much with Dad. This led to us raising concern over his care in April 2024 when he was being left in bed, soaked in urine due to incontinence. But I do want to acknowledge that this was swiftly dealt with by the Home Manager, and there has been a noticeable improvement in Dad's care since then. Some personal items have gone missing and never been found, so management of this would benefit from improvement. As would incident reporting when knocks and falls occur. But Dad is very happy and content living in Argyle Care Home, loves his room, and is well cared for by the members of staff who have become familiar to him.
