View Full Details of Ranfurly Care HomeFriendly and comfortable care home. Always felt my step mother was well looked after and cared for through her stay at Ranfurly. All staff were helpful and approachable and always seemed to have the residents best interests at heart. Thank you.
When mum needed a care home, the family viewed several in the area, but as soon as I stepped foot in Ranfurly Care Home, I knew it was the one. Mum has been in their care for a year now and has settled well. Mum and staff have a great relationship, and it's lovely to see their interactions with each other. I cannot fault any part of my mums care, the meals, housekeeping, caring and nursing staff. They are all exceptional and have built up a really close relationship with the family. Mum joins in the activities provided by Sharon and Nicola, from days out, exercise, arts and crafts, quizzes, sing along and especially the bingo. Activity staff are always looking for new ways to include all residents of all abilities. Ranfurly offers family, friends and residents the opportunity to hear all about the ongoing upgrades and planned work being done and to make suggestions of improvements or changes. I know my mum is safe and well looked after at Ranfurly, and I can rest at ease knowing they have my back.
My husband has been in a few care homes but this was one of the best. The first thing I noticed was the friendliness of all the staff I met. They were all so helpful nothing was too much trouble. My husband settled in so easily saying he felt at home and it was a great place he was in. The next day I visited him, he looked really rested and had breakfast in bed. Nothing was rushed he felt very comfortable with staff who he said were lovely. A positive experience.
We are pleased with the level of care. Mum is happy and loves the organised activities. Staff are vigilant and caring, it's lovely that they all address mum by her name, even when we visit other units. The home is always spotlessly clean and mum enjoys walking out in the well maintained gardens.
Ranfurly is in my opinion a friendly, relaxed and caring environment. The friendly staff and spotlessly clean areas in every area of the home make it such a welcoming place to visit especially when it can be challenging to visit relatives who are very poorly or unwell or just elderly. I actually look forward to my visits to my dad now was there is always such a happy friendly face to greet you and have a chat with.
The staff at Ranfurly Care Home are excellent. The nurses and carers go out of their way to make sure my mums needs are always met. The activities girls are first class, they not only keep my mum happy and exercised on a daily basis but are great for my well being also. Some days it's a struggle to go in but there's always someone available to talk to. Thank you all for everything you do for us.
I can't thank Ranfurly staff enough for taking good care of my mum. Theyre always there with a kind smile and ready to answer any questions I have. The home is immaculate with lovely gardens where I can sit with my mum on a nice day.
My mum had very complex needs. We were kept up to date and always made to feel welcome when popping in for a visit. Staff were amazing and they made such a fuss of mum on her birthday. Her room was always clean and tidy. We are particularly grateful to the nurse in charge of mum's care for her kindness, understanding, compassion and regular updates. The staff worked very hard and we can't thank them enough.
Ranfurly Care Home has exceeded all my expectations. All staff, no matter their positions are helpful, very friendly and attentive. The home is clean and bright and the atmosphere is always positive. My Father recently had a Birthday and the staff went above and beyond. The level of care is second to none and my Father hasn't looked so well in years! Excellent all around.
My mum spent the final 13 months of her life in The Culzean unit at Ranfurly. Placing my mum in a care home was a difficult decision, but I am delighted that I chose this care home. The staff were very caring and always happy to discuss how my mum was doing. They also kept me fully informed of any changes to Mum's condition. My mum's room was always clean and it was obvious she was being well cared for. My feeling was all the staff really cared for their residents. I could never thank the staff enough for the care provided to my mum, thank you.
Complaint 2022118156 refers. My mother moved here for palliative care: I had hoped to be a daughter rather than a carer during her stay. This did not happen. I felt the need to remain vigilant in monitoring her well-being on a daily basis, visiting every day. Kindness and compassion were shown by many members of staff, but the level of care/concern was inconsistent. Management were consistently unresponsive to concerns. The nursing staff expressed irritation when I repeatedly tried to address a medication issue. Other concerns were ignored. My mother did not have a good ending. I was deliberately misinformed about her death. If I had not repeatedly questioned staff, I believe it is unlikely I would ever have learned the facts about her death. There has been no expression of condolence or apology from the care home regarding the way my mother's care or death was handled. The way I was treated at the end of her life has significantly impacted the grieving process and will haunt me forever.
My mother is in end of life care and Ranfurly Home has treated her with dignity and respect. They are also kind and very caring. Ranfurly is extremely clean and there is never any malodours and my mother is always clean and well cared for. The staff at Ranfurly including the admin staff are simply the best. We are very grateful.
Staff are excellent and always on hand to answer questions. Mum really enjoys food that is served and seems to really enjoy surroundings and activities. I appreciate all you are doing for my mum and my whole family feel the same, especially in the current environment.
My dad has been in Ranfurly Care Home since last September, I am very pleased with the care he gets and staff are great, friendly and no problem is too big. They are very approachable. My dad likes the staff which makes me happier to know he is well cared for.
I have found the care and compassion shown to my mum have been to a very high standard. I had an issue with a member of the team looking after mum however this was dealt with quickly and professionally. I am kept informed about any arising health issues and would not hesitate to contact any of the team from carers, nurses to management if I had a query. I would highly recommend Ranfurly.
My mother-in-law has been at Ranfurly for over one year now, has settled in well and we are extremely happy with the home. Positive factors include the stability of the staff, when we visit we will always be able to speak to staff who are working with her and have good knowledge of her health and needs. The staff know us by name, giving us a sense of our mother being a person and not just another resident. The staff are willing to discuss any concerns and we are not left feeling like we have been imposing on their time. We like the variable of visiting and the ability to make tea, coffee and sit with our mother as we would do in a normal family situation. The staff all go above and beyond to make these residents feel at home and nothing is of any hassle to any of the staff. The gardens are beautiful for all of the residents to enjoy which is an important factor for all residents. The activities team are fabulous at organising daily activities to suit all resident's needs.
The support we (family) have received from Ranfurly during the pandemic has been exceptional. A daily phone call from myself to the care home provided us with a daily update on my father's physical and social condition. All the staff are able to inform us about all aspects of my father's care. As a family, we owe a debt of gratitude to every staff member.
We are happy with the care Mum is receiving in Ranfurly.
I visit Ranfurly regularly to see my friend and have always been impressed with how the care home is run. Staff are always friendly, and there are always lots of activities on offer. Having experience of other care homes in the past, Ranfurly has a lovely, welcoming ethos.
Our mother has been at Ranfurly for 5 months, has settled in well and we are extremely happy with the home. Positive factors include the stability of the staff, when we visit we will always be able to speak to staff who are working with her and have good knowledge of her health and needs. The staff know us by name giving us a sense of our mother being a person and not just another resident. The staff are willing to discuss any concerns and we are not left feeling like we have been imposing on their time. We like the openness of visiting and the ability to make tea, coffee and sit with our mother as we would do in a normal family situation. Our only minor concern is that we would like to have more information on the activities she does on a daily basis but do appreciate that this requires time to record it, taking staff away from caring for the residents. Perhaps details of the weekly activities programme being more prominently displayed would allow us to encourage her to participate. She has not participated in these as much as we would have preferred but it is her choice.
