My mother has been a resident 5 years and she has received very good care. For her 90th birthday the activities team made it a wonderful day to remember with careful planning, thoughtful ideas and a lovely afternoon tea. The carers have been so kind and helpful.

Mum moved into the Kintyre Unit a few months before her 99th birthday. She has now spent over 3 years in the unit and has been well looked after. Milestone birthdays have been celebrated with enthusiasm. She has become much frailer physically and mentally and is increasingly dependent on care staff
who are ably meeting her needs. At times, the ward phone is not picked up, and long waits ensue, but generally communication is good with appropriate information being shared in a timely way.

Dad was asked to move from another care home who said they could not handle his dementia as he was falling too much and as a result spent a lot of time in hospital . Dad was miserable there. Since moving to Lilyburn his health has vastly improved, no more falling. He is eating much more (staff
spoil him!) and is beginning to communicate better. He is even smiling and laughing again.
With regards to the staff, they have been nothing short of exemplary in their care of my dad. He is kept well fed and clean.
Whenever I had to ask a member of staff for assistance it has been pretty much straight away. All staff have been friendly, helpful and respectful.
I can't speak regarding physical activities as my dad does not really join in. But little things like Santa coming at Christmas and a Piper piping in the haggis on Burns Nights makes it a little more special
Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Well, you pay more for quality care. And this is quality care.

My husband was transferred from another care home, from which he had had a failed placement, just before Christmas.
I cannot thank the staff enough for the thoughtful, compassionate and caring way in which they look after him. He has settled in well and is a much happier, less stressed individual.
The staff have catered care around his needs and have put plans in place to ensure that trigger points are well managed or do not happen in the first instance. He has also put on weight in the 4 weeks that he has been in Kintyre Unit, which is a great relief to all the family. The food is of a very high standard and again, catered to his needs.I cannot express how much thanks and gratitude as a family, we feel towards all the staff.

Since the day my Mum was welcomed to Lillyburn all of the staff have made so much effort to get to know her and our family. How they remember all our names is tremendous. The nursing care and calls regarding changes in mums health are reassuring. Every time I visit I am impressed with the meals,
cleanliness and that my mum is treated with respect. On a fun side the activities are varied, and family are welcome which has given me more happy memories. Thank you to all the staff that have taken the time to get to know my Mum

My dad has been a resident of Lillyburn for three and a half years. The staff are all caring and responsive to his and his visitor's needs, he is comfortable, happy and well nourished, he's never had any complaints and always seems quite happy and content when we visit, a big factor in enabling him
to enjoy his 100-year-plus lifestyle.

We chose Lillyburn because it is open plan because my mum likes to see what's going on - and there is plenty going on! Our hopes for the layout were totally justified. However, what has made Lillyburn special is the superb care and attention that she receives. All the staff team know her and,
regardless of what they are doing, always stop to speak to her. The team caters for particular interests, and the activities are stimulating and interesting. Any excuse for a celebration is taken: Christmas, birthdays, Burns Night... Her room and the unit are spotlessly clean and hygienic. The food is of excellent quality and variety, and the nursing care is superb. What really impresses me is that each resident is treated as an individual with freedom of choice in what they want to do (or not do). We are normally able to visit regularly, but when that hasn't been possible, we are encouraged to contact the unit, and we are always informed immediately about any issues affecting my mum's health or care.

The care home provides the residents with a high-quality of care delivered with dignity, respect and compassion at all times.
Family/friends are made welcome and are kept well informed of their loved one’s health, welfare and all aspects of their situation within the home.
