Lillyburn Care Home

Before my Dad was transferred to Lillyburn I received a call from the Manager who put me at ease with my Dad transferring from hospital into the home. He was extremely informative and caring. He explained to me what would be happening going forward and gave me the assurance that I could contact anytime for update on Dad or if I needed to ask any further questions. Dad has only been there for a couple of days and am so glad he has settled so well. The staff I have spoken to or seen in person so far are a credit to their profession. The home itself is spotless and has a very friendly and calming atmosphere which is so reassuring for our family.

I am so happy that my brother was accepted as a resident at the Kintyre Unit. His needs are complex but the staff are amazing in all they do to help him and care for him. The fact that they are all regular employees and all know him by name makes such a difference. They work extremely hard, caring for him and the other residents. It is a great weight off my mind to know he is safe there.

Food is very good. Rooms are kept clean n tidy. Staff are very good Overall, the home is very good

My mum has been in Lillyburn for a few months now and has settled in well , There is many different activities for her to enjoy, her room is lovely overlooking the garden and unit having only 10 residents makes it easy to get to know others. The most impressive aspect of Lillyburn is the staff, from the nursing staff, catering staff, cleaners ,maintenance, office and activities coordinators they all have a positive outlook, treat the residents with both affection and dignity and I couldn't ask for better.

My mum has only been in 9 days so difficult to provide a more detailed review. The room is spacious, well laid out and kept very clean. All the staff seem very attentive & approach-able. With my mum having a good appetite i feel that the portions are a bit on the small side - are extras offered ?

Staff and facilities are off an excellent standard, happy with things

Sometimes there seems to be fewer staff on duty than previously which adds to their challenges.

My loved one has now been in Lilyburn for 3 years. The standard of care is very high. The staff are one of the greatest resources, carers and activity coordinators Rhona and Andrea are particularly amazing. They organise inventive activities to meet the needs of a wide range of residents, always changing as necessary. I'm so very grateful for the level of care provided at Lilyburn care home. I would highly recommend it when sadly this level of care is required.

There is always something going on for the residents

My mother has been a resident 5 years and she has received very good care. For her 90th birthday the activities team made it a wonderful day to remember with careful planning, thoughtful ideas and a lovely afternoon tea. The carers have been so kind and helpful.

Mum moved into the Kintyre Unit a few months before her 99th birthday. She has now spent over 3 years in the unit and has been well looked after. Milestone birthdays have been celebrated with enthusiasm. She has become much frailer physically and mentally and is increasingly dependent on care staff who are ably meeting her needs. At times, the ward phone is not picked up, and long waits ensue, but generally communication is good with appropriate information being shared in a timely way.

My mum is always cared for, happy with what is happening, good service.

The staff are very kind and treat my mother with great respect. The level at care she receives is excellent and I am happy she safe in Lillyburn care home.

Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Well, you pay more for quality care. And this is quality care.

I cannot thank the staff enough for the thoughtful, compassionate and caring way in which they look after him. He has settled in well and is a much happier, less stressed individual. The staff have catered care around his needs and have put plans in place to ensure that trigger points are well managed or do not happen in the first instance. He has also put on weight in the 4 weeks that he has been in Kintyre Unit, which is a great relief to all the family. The food is of a very high standard and again, catered to his needs.I cannot express how much thanks and gratitude as a family, we feel towards all the staff.

Lillyburn is an excellent facility. My mother has been resident for over 2 yrs and the standard of care has been consistent. The staff are friendly, approachable and professional. It is evident that training and education is prioritised as shown in staff understanding and patience with the residents and families. I feel reassured that my mum is in safe, caring hands. I have now visited Lillyburn daily for the past year and continues to be overwhelmed by the care and compassion given to my mum. She has thrived since her arrival intricates into the activities and was recently taken on a biking adventure for her 90th birthday which was shown on TV and radio. How proud we were to have shared this with so many.

All staff are lovely and treat all residents with care and dignity.
