Mum moved into the Kintyre Unit a few months before her 99th birthday. She has now spent over 3 years in the unit and has been well looked after. Milestone birthdays have been celebrated with enthusiasm. She has become much frailer physically and mentally and is increasingly dependent on care staff
who are ably meeting her needs. At times, the ward phone is not picked up, and long waits ensue, but generally communication is good with appropriate information being shared in a timely way.

Dad was asked to move from another care home who said they could not handle his dementia as he was falling too much and as a result spent a lot of time in hospital . Dad was miserable there. Since moving to Lilyburn his health has vastly improved, no more falling. He is eating much more (staff spoil
him!) and is beginning to communicate better. He is even smiling and laughing again.
With regards to the staff, they have been nothing short of exemplary in their care of my dad. He is kept well fed and clean.
Whenever I had to ask a member of staff for assistance it has been pretty much straight away. All staff have been friendly, helpful and respectful.
I can't speak regarding physical activities as my dad does not really join in. But little things like Santa coming at Christmas and a Piper piping in the haggis on Burns Nights makes it a little more special
Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Well, you pay more for quality care. And this is quality care.

My husband was transferred from another care home, from which he had had a failed placement, just before Christmas.
I cannot thank the staff enough for the thoughtful, compassionate and caring way in which they look after him. He has settled in well and is a much happier, less stressed individual.
The staff have catered care around his needs and have put plans in place to ensure that trigger points are well managed or do not happen in the first instance. He has also put on weight in the 4 weeks that he has been in Kintyre Unit, which is a great relief to all the family. The food is of a very high standard and again, catered to his needs.I cannot express how much thanks and gratitude as a family, we feel towards all the staff.

Lillyburn is an excellent facility. My mother has been resident for over 2 yrs and the standard of care has been consistent. The staff are friendly, approachable and professional. It is evident that training and education is prioritised as shown in staff understanding and patience with the residents
and families. I feel reassured that my mum is in safe, caring hands. (Nurse of 40 years)

My mother has been attending day care for a few weeks now to enable me to have some respite as I am her 24 hour carer. Initially I was apprehensive that she would enjoy the experience. My concerns have proved unfounded. It is a considerable relief to me that she now looks forward to her 'day away',
she very much enjoys meeting the carers, the other people attending day care and also the meals and activities provided. I have found the carers at Birdston to be kind, caring, professional and interested in providing those in their charge with a friendly, positive experience.

I have now visited Lillyburn daily for the past year and continues to be overwhelmed by the care and compassion given to my mum. She has thrived since her arrival intricates into the activities and was recently taken on a biking adventure for her 90th birthday which was shown on TV and radio. How
proud we were to have shared this with so many.

Very concerned when my mum first went into Stanely Park, as she'd looked after herself for 95 years previously.
I shouldn't have worried. The staff are great, the residents friendly, and the facilities excellent.
Couldn't be happier with the way she's settled in.

Warm & welcoming atmosphere. The staff are all kind & caring. There is an understanding of individual needs so that the residents are still people, cared for. There is an enhanced understanding of dementia so that those who have it are given time & space to do things their way. My husband is very settled
and comfortable. I am very grateful to Birdston for all that they do for my husband.

My Aunt has been living at Stanely Park for the last 8 months. I am her nearest relative and am closely involved with her care. In the last 8 months I have seen the genuine compassion and care of the staff for my Aunt as well as the other residents. The home itself is always clean and welcoming. There
are activities morning and afternoon 5 days a week, including some wonderful special events. My aunt has gone from withdrawn and anti-social to enjoying socialising and joining in with activities. Her mental health is much improved and she feels at home here. I am incredibly thankful for the staff and the wonderful care she has received.

My review does not just relate to my wife who is a resident in Stanely Park Paisley. It's nearly eighteen months since my wife became a resident, we are both on a journey which was not something we ever thought about a few years ago. Since the residence start the love and care has been remarkable. I
want to point out the support I receive from the staff, as a frequent visitor it's very unusual from one of the staff to also ask if I'm okay or if anything I want to know. So thanks to staff I really appreciate the wee word entering or leaving.
