Mum was struggling when admitted but staff were caring, supportive and really positive which absolutely helped her relax and recover. They clearly had got to know her and what worked well for her.

The non clinical/care/nursing staff are also friendly, approachable and kind. They know our names and always have a smile. Mums room is always clean. We have had a great experience so far and don't doubt this will continue

Warm & welcoming atmosphere. The staff are all kind & caring. There is an understanding of individual needs so that the residents are still people, cared for. There is an enhanced understanding of dementia so that those who have it are given time & space to do things their way. My husband is very settled and comfortable. I am very grateful to Birdston for all that they do for my husband.

Birdston have supported my mum fully in a transition which many families would find challenging.
The staff have listened and responded to her needs and interests.

My mum is healthy, and happy and well looked after, as a consequence our family has peace of mind.

I really feel that the staff have got to know and understand my husband in the three months he has been here. They are caring and knowledgeable and always prepared to listen to my questions and concerns.
He is always clean and smart and the staff have tried hard to provide a diet that he enjoys.
I have great confidence too in the links with the local surgery.

He is always treated with dignity and respect.

We have had an excellent experience here. My mother-in-law has been here for twenty-nine months. The staff are caring and kind. Nothing has been "too much trouble". The home is clean and tidy. There is outside space to sit in when the Scotland weather permits. The activity side has improved as we have been here.

We have been so impressed by the caring and kind attitude of the staff in this lovely home. I would be happy here if I had to go into 'long-term care'.

The facilities at Birdston are excellent and the team provided my father with exceptional care, respect, and compassion throughout his time there. My father settled in immediately and felt at home from the earliest stages of his time at Birdston. He was cared for tenderly and personally by the wonderful nursing staff to whom our family is forever grateful.

Overall Experience
My family and I would like to express our most sincere thanks and gratitude to all nursing and support staff at Birdston Care Home while offering palliative care for my father over 18 months.
It was humbling to witness the extent to which all staff dedicated their time - and often going above and beyond - to the gentle care of residents under challenging circumstances. The personal bonds that were formed between my father and staff were truly special - founded on respect, trust, sensitivity and humour - and offered great comfort for all.

Visiting Birdston was always a pleasure as the facilities are exceptional and staff would go out of their way to help and make the family feel comfortable at any time of day or night. We could not recommend Birdston Care Home more highly. It is with sadness that we no longer visit to see staff and to thank them again for everything they did to make my Father's time with them the very best it could possibly be. Thank you!

When I came here at first I immediately felt at home and the feeling has increased. I can't imagine not living here. The care staff are remarkable. I've never seen anyone feeling neglected. Everyone is made welcome here. I could write pages on the cleanliness of the place, the place is gleaming. A wonderful desirable residence.
