Birdston Care Home is located in Kirkintilloch, only a 15-minute journey from Glasgow City Centre. The care home has recently undergone a complete interior refit, including newly refurbished bedrooms, dining rooms, communal areas and gardens.

Birdston Care Home is a specialist nursing home established for 20 years which provides the highest standard of 24-hour person-centred care for frail-elderly people, respecting individual choices, privacy and dignity. The home also offers specialist dementia and respite care. Staff have a positive, forward-thinking work ethic which cascades throughout all departments, resulting in the delivery of skilled, relevant care. This ethos enables residents to lead a happy, fulfilled and diverse life.

As a purpose-built care home built on one level, there are many personal and communal spaces available, in addition to a variety of safe and secure landscaped gardens affording beautiful views of the Campsie Fells.

My mother has lived in Birdston for 2 years and 5 months. Her care has been excellent as the manager, nurses and carers including kitchen, cleaning and gardeners have worked together to make sure she has been comfortable throughout her stay.
I do feel however that individual activities have been lacking
and not fully meeting her needs.

Overall good although staff sometimes not aware of having to leave the phone next to my mother and or not making sure the phone is working. Attention to detail.

Overall fantastic. Since the Activities Organiser left we miss the activities, especially bowling, boccia (bean bags) and parachute as my Mum can't do the activities that need thought. I am sure it will get back to normal when a new person starts.

Unfortunately, the activities co-ordinator had left without notice, however, we have since recruited a new activities co-ordinator who has commenced in the role from mid-December. The activities program is currently active and we are pleased with the new appointment.

This care home is excellent. Residents are all treated with dignity and respect. Nothing is too much trouble for staff who are always bright and cheery. Residents are treated as individuals.
As a family, we have peace of mind that mum is safe and well cared for 24/7.

Birdston Care Home is a very good place to live. My mother is being cared for very well and has obviously settled in.
I am happy with her environment especially the beautiful gardens. The rooms are a little small but are clean and bright.
The staff are kind, helpful and efficient.
