View Full Details of Ben Madigan Care HomeMy Dad was in Ben Madigan for a short time before he passed away peacefully in their wonderful care. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and my Dad was treated with respect and compassion. He had a lovely bright room and the nursing care was excellent. As a family we were also looked after in his final day's by the staff with the offer of a hot drink or a kind word. A lovely bright care home with a lovely kind and caring atmosphere am glad got to spend his final day's in their care.
We live in England so can't see Dad as often as we would like to. The staff have made our visits this week a lovely experience showing care and compassion and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you for all your help this week, you are really appreciated.
My mother was in the late stages of dementia, she had to transfer to Ben Madigan for palliative care. The whole transfer was completed with the least amount of distress to my mother. The staff were welcoming and supportive of her and her family. There was great compassion and the highest level of care. My mother was treated with dignity.
Mum was brought here after a short stay in hospital, it was a totally new experience for her and also us as a family. The staff have been really good to her and she settled well after a few days. Everyone has been great with her and we, as a family, are thankful for all the help she has been given.
I put my mother into respite care here for 2 weeks in May 2017. Whilst in the home she developed a bed sore on her foot due to the wrong mattress being given during her stay despite the fact that the manager knew my mother was on an air mattress at home. It is now October and the District Nurse is still calling to the house every other day to dress the foot which still hasn't healed. I also noticed on her return home she had developed a habit of asking "is there anyone there" and "could somebody help me please". I would never put my mother in this place again!
