View Full Details of L'Hermitage Care CentreMy mum needed 3 weeks' convalescence care after a stay in hospital, and we were lucky enough to find L'Hermitage had a room for her. The manager and the deputy care manager were so helpful in helping us arrange for mum to go to L'Hermitage at short notice. On arrival with mum, the welcome we received was wonderful and all the staff couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating and mum's needs during her time there. It was a combination of the much needed convalescence care that mum required, including all the kindness and friendly faces, together with the lovely hotel like facilities that helped mum recover efficiently to go home. A huge thank you to all at L'Hermitage, as you all run and manage a wonderful place, and I have no hesitation in recommending you.
My mum was admitted to the L'Hermitage care home in February 2025. Unfortunately she passed away on 4/6/25. I did write a review when my mum first moved in to say how wonderful the care was from the time of admin to the review. Now, I would like to say again, thank you each and everyone of you, you know who you are. Your empathy, expert care, professionalism and support during her 4 months she spent with you will stay with us, always. My mum was so happy with you saying, when she was able about how lovely you all were to her. I have told friends and family about how I would highly recommend your care home always, without any doubt, and hope that if my friends and family find their loved ones needing a home from home environment that if it is possible their loved ones would find it with you. Thank you all so much, I am indebted to you.
A very caring home with very professional staff. The attention my wife received no doubt was fundamental to her recovery.
My mother-in-law was admitted four weeks ago and from day one my husband and I were met by a smiling, informative receptionist and numerous staff who could not do enough to make her comfortable and care for. The temporary manager and staff were all there to make the transition seamless. One member of staff in particular was brilliant in making sure shelves were put up for mu mother-in-laws photos and nit-naks and was always available when we needed help. Thank you all.
Although relatively short, the care for Mum by carers, nurses and support team was excellent, particularly over the final few days of her life. The nurses in particular were exemplary in the care of Mum and our family, explaining fully next stages in straightforward ways, obtaining medication and dealing with everything for us after Mum's passing. Unfortunately Mum was not well enough to enjoy the activities and facilities but they looked great.
The staff are all just incredible, they go above and beyond the job role to ensure that residents are all cared for. It’s amazing to see my grandmother taking part in activities and chatting to people as she spent so long in her home isolated before she moved into the home. I love that the staff took time to organise a surprise robotic cat for her when she was missing her cat, it’s the little things that make it more than just a care home. For our family it’s been life-changing having the support and care from the L’hermitage community, they take a huge chunk of the pressure of caring for a loved one off your shoulders and give you the chance to just enjoy your time with your loved one.
My mother went to L'Hermitage which she found difficult to cope with, however the staff who look after her are amazing, they have a laugh with her and they do everything they can to meet mum's emotional and physical needs. All the staff who look after the residents are friendly, extremely patient and considerate of their differing needs nothing is too much trouble. Meals are tasty and varied and Mum is asked what things she likes and they try to provide as much as possible. There are activities daily which Mum can join in with if she wants as well as trips out. The two ladies at the front desk are so warm and welcoming and always so helpful. The cleaning staff do an amazing job as I am sure its not easy getting everyone's clean items back to them! The revamp of the facilities has made the home feel even more like a home, it always has a lovely atmosphere and can't thank all the L'Hermitage team enough for the amazing care they give Mum.It's definitely the best nursing home in Jersey.
My overall impression is of a very friendly, personal and a caring home from home. The meals are tasty and varied. The activities are daily (very important), and the staff at the front desk are welcoming and very helpful. The staff who care for the residents are so friendly, patient and considerate of their differing needs and the open door policy enables those who are able to retain some independence whilst still being safe under the umbrella of your care system. The cleaning staff do a great job and then ensure facilities are such a bonus. Thank you for providing this wonderful facility,
My aunt considered that whilst most staff tried very hard to provide the best service they could, staff shortages put many under greater pressure than might be considered fair, exacerbated by some staff not pulling their weight.
Mum was cared for well. She enjoyed all the activities that were on in the home. Her final days at the lovely care home were so wonderful nothing was too much trouble to the amazing staff. They were such a comfort to our family. We would like to say thank you.
Mum has thrived at L'Hermitage. She talks about the residents and staff as her 'family'. The staff are caring and work incredibly hard to ensure they enjoy all that life has to offer. From the minute you walk into the home it is very welcoming. It is the little things, from staff greeting you when moving around the home, the Facebook page which provides opportunities to engage with mum, to the display boards that make you feel part of the community. It is evident that the ethos is to care about the wellbeing of the whole family not just the resident in their care. Thank you to the wonderful team who care so passionately for Mum.
Very happy with all the nursing care given especially during the covid pandemic. Social activities were very popular and necessary. Greatly enjoyed. Suggest more care with personnel clothing as often new items went missing.
Am very happy with the care that is given to my sister and the staff are good.
My mum was at L’Hermitage for nearly two years and we were very pleased with the excellent care she received. Because the home is purpose-built, it is spacious and modern - in particular, the corridors were wide enough to accommodate my mum’s electric wheelchair. Residents aren’t restricted to their bedrooms and there is a lovely lounge and dining area, with a beautiful view. The staff were welcoming and kind and visits were an absolute pleasure. During the recent lockdown, we were able to maintain contact with our mum with frequent Skype calls, and a Facebook page kept us updated with what she was doing. An excellent care home.
My mother was a resident at L'Hermitage for roughly ten months. During that time she was extremely well looked after. The staff really went a long way to care for her, nothing was ever too much trouble for any of the staff to deal with. L'Hermitage really is like one big family, I'm so pleased she spent the remainder of her life there, trust is very important in life and I could put my trust in the carers to look after my mother 100%.
Both Mum and Dad were in the care of L'Hermitage in January. It is a fabulous place that is extremely well run with wonderful caring staff. My dad needed sudden respite care while my mum was resident and L'Hermitage staff went above and beyond to make it happen so they could be together. As a relative, they made me feel part of L'Hermitage's family.
My father was a resident for a very short while, from 5th December 2019 until his death on 15th December 2019. He was transferred from hospital to the home, much to his relief, and ours (my sister and I). He was treated at L'Hermitage with the dignity, care and respect that everyone should have in their last days. It made a huge difference to him and us. He was completely lucid until the day he died, at peace and not in a busy, impersonal hospital ward.
My dad was here for just over two years having passed in January 2020, in that time the standard of care given was first class. The staff keep you informed at all times and show a level of care of very high standards. In dads last few days they showed such concern and 'love' not just for dad but for us as a family. In fact, I sent a card to 'dads other family' thanking them all.
L'Hermitage Care home exceeded all of our expectations with caring for our grandad. The staff at this home are all real-life angels who did so much for not just grandad but for the whole family. We honestly could not be more grateful to them. They made the end as easy and peaceful as it could be.
