My wife went to Bentley House in January, initially for a 3 week stay to give me a break from caring for her at home. She was suffering from dementia and doubly incontinent. To my great surprise, she not only settled in straight away, but seemed quite content, even happy, to be there. There's no
doubt in my mind that this was mainly due to the attitude and actions of the staff. Before she had been there a day, it seemed that all the staff knew her name (that may be a slight exaggeration, but not much of one) and would give her a cheery smile and often say a few words. The carers in particular would often tell me how much they liked having her at Bentley House and what a lovely smile she had. I'm sure that none of this was forced - it was all genuine. I could, but I shan't, comment on individual acts of kindness, and approachability - I think it's sufficient to say that there was no-one I met working at Bentley House who I would have been unhappy to employ myself.

I visited a friend here, what a beautiful care home. The place was so clean and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. My friend really liked it here. I would consider (when the time comes) staying here myself.

I have treated with respect, care and kindness from every member of staff in the month I have been here. Nothing was too much trouble. I was made to feel like a well loved member of a family. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I was here for convalescent care and although I am looking
forward to going home, I will miss everyone here.

The staff are always very welcoming and ready to help. There are a lot of different interesting activities for the residents. They have different menus every day and the food look delicious. In the reception, there is a warm environment, and you can have some cake and beverage with family and
friends. All the facilities appear very clean and organised. The care team provide an excellent service, and give very dedicated personal care to the people living there. Overall, if anyone is looking for a carehome for their loved one, I would most definitely recommend Bentley House!

The level of care and facilities is not adequate. My mother fears declining in this place. Residents who typically wait ages for carers to come. Residents are left in communal areas with sometimes just a receptionist on duty. Pharmacy delivers late and avoids accountability meetings, causing a
resident to go without meds for 24hrs. Falls are a regular occurrence and many are avoidable. Carers are not vigilant, residents are tightly packed into communal spaces and there are no grab rails in communal areas or corridors. Upper floors can reach 30 degrees in summer. Food is unhealthy and high in calories. Lifts frequently break down and out of action for up to 10 days at a time. Lifts are shared with residents, tea trolleys and servicemen.

The atmosphere was always welcoming, warm and reassuring, and the staff were consistently compassionate, patient and attentive. Knowing my loved one was safe, comfortable and treated with such respect gave our family real peace of mind during a very difficult time.
We will always be grateful for
the care and support provided, and I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking for a place where residents are truly valued and cared for.

I cannot thank the team at this care home enough for the love, kindness and dignity they showed my loved one. From the very beginning, it was clear that the staff genuinely cared and took the time to understand her needs as an individual, not just as a resident.

I was visiting my dearest friend from the Army. He lives now in the Bentley House. The place straight from the entrance is very warm, welcoming, not surprised when he told me he feels like at home. The staff is on one side very professional and knowledgeable, but on the other side very friendly and
casual. The Care Team is very caring and passionate, the Cleaning Team always makes sure everything is clean, fresh and spotless. If I need a care home in the future, the Bentley House would be definitely at the top of my list.

I cannot speak highly enough of the care and compassion shown by the staff at Bentley house. From the moment we first visited, we felt a genuine warmth and commitment to the wellbeing of every resident. The atmosphere is welcoming, clean, and calm - it truly feels like a home rather than a facility.
My aunt had lived there in her final few months. The carers go above and beyond, always treating residents with dignity and respect. They take the time to get to know each individual - their likes, routines, and stories - which makes all the difference.
The rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, and the garden is a peaceful place for residents to relax or spend time with visiting family. The food is varied and nutritious, and tailored to personal needs. What stands out most is the sense of community. There are regular activities and events that keep residents engaged and up. I couldn't believe the quality of life they gave her in the end and the continued support for my family.

I am so happy with the care my mum receives. They are always trying to encourage my mum to participate in things and to get her out of her room, even if it's just for a coffee downstairs, the staff are always so happy to help with anything you need. Bentley House is outstanding for all of my mums
needs.

We have had several friends and family become members of care homes in different counties across the country. None of which compare to our recent encounters with Signature Bentley House, Hertford.
Each and every component of our experience has been seamless and pleasurable.
Reception welcomes you
with open arms, and the care staff working throughout show the utmost respect and hospitality. Our liaison manager made it very clear prior to joining that our loved one would be made to feel part of a community whilst receiving a high standard of care.
We have been filled with such confidence thus far. Leading us to prompt others to choose this care home over others.

Our dear friend for whom we held Lasting Power of Attorney for began living at Bentley House in March 2023 following the death of his wife.
From the first visit to Bentley House, he was made to feel welcome. Everything was discussed with him, rather than us, which made him feel in control and
valid, it was after all his decision.
As the song goes ' Everyone knew his name' after that first and subsequent visits.
My friend found the food to be faultless, he deemed the nutritious soups delicious. Enjoyed the variety of daily options. And when feeling in need of a simple fried egg on toast it was never a problem.
His spacious apartment was kept clean, as were his clothes.
As for his care, there was continuity at every stage of his life at BH. Liaison between BH and his LPA's was faultless. Eric often said it's like being in a 5* hotel, his needs were met and he was happy residing there, being surrounded by his own possessions, and familiar faces. Independence with excellent care 24/7.
