View Full Details of Signature Coombe Hill ManorMy mother has been living in Auguste (dementia community) at Coombe Hill for just over a year now, and I have only become more impressed and happy with her quality of life and care during that time. What strikes me in every interaction with carers and staff is just how well they know her: her quirks, what excites her, her preferences. She's treated and known as an individual, and despite the restrictions her dementia imposes on her ability to express herself, her personality is understood and taken into account in everything. My mother is genuinely happy at Coombe, and both tells and shows me that every time i visit. The continuity of staff means she has the reassurance of ongoing relationships with carers, and that's also very comforting for me as a relative, knowing they are in a good position to notice any changes in her capacity, wellbeing or behaviour. And communication from staff is excellent: frictionless and super-efficient by email and phone, and always warm in person.
I knew nothing of the care home prior to being referred here by my GP on the grounds of my minor cognitive permanent and severe degeneration of the spine and I continue to ve very grateful to him.
Coombe Hill Manor is by far the best care home I visited when looking for a place for my parents. Their apartment is fantastic - very spacious with lovely views over the garden which is beautiful and well looked after. Not many homes offer accommodation for a couple, nor do they allow one to bring one's own furniture - a detail that makes such a difference to one's comfort and happiness when one has to leave one's own home. My parents' sitting room now looks pretty much the same as the one in their house did! The staff are, without exception, courteous, caring and very friendly. There are a great many activities every day. I would definitely recommend Coombe Hill Manor to anyone looking for a safe, friendly home for a relative.
The entire team involved in my brother's recent move to Combe Hill Manor made us feel so welcome from the very first encounter. Everyone was so understanding of all the significant factors involved in taking the decision about such an important lifestyle change. The balance between being relaxed and professional shone through. To know my brother is in such a warm, friendly, stimulating and safe environment is very reassuring for his future and our peace of mind.
The care is simply exceptional here. The transition from living alone and independently to moving here has been managed beautifully. We could not have imagined how quickly this would feel like home. Every single member of the team has been simply charming and genuinely seem happy to be doing their roles and to help in any way. The range of activities has been a huge plus with trips and music being highlights.
All the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful in caring for the residents. I feel absolutely comfortable knowing that my grandmother is in their capable hands and the range of activities they offer is one of a kind. I sincerely recommend signature care homes to anyone looking for a sociable, clean, homely place for their loved ones.
Aguste Dementia Care, Combe Hill Manor, cannot be faulted for the level of care and attention the residents receive. The staff demonstrate endless patience and consideration irrespective of the shifting moods of the individuals in their care. My Mother benefits enormously from trips out, as well as the in-house activities. Most of all she is happy there and she is able to exercise her right to chose. The only negative is that she doesn't have independent access to an outside space, although the garden is lovely and she can access any time providing she has someone to accompany her.
There are no words really. Thank you does not start to express my gratitude for my mother. Staff, especially some, are very special. Book yourself into rooms on the ground floor where all the 'action' and 'activity' is. The food is excellent, and above all else I felt mum was safe here, and well looked after. Reception are lovely and the connection with the local GPs and hospital is a Godsend. Yes, it is expensive, but I felt I would rather my mother benefit in her care in her golden years, rather than the government in their taxes and my mum needs that level of care in her situation. Staff are excellent. Facilities great. Car park perhaps needs to be larger.
Signature Coombe Hill Manor is an extremely welcoming and friendly place. My sister has settled in so well and the dignified care and attention she has received have had a huge impact on her health. I have felt particularly impressed with the professionalism of all staff and their caring attitude and their willingness to support any request.
My sister has dementia. She moved into Coombe Hill in May. I think what I appreciate most is the attitude of all the staff who are very caring and tolerant of her because I know she can be quite demanding. I am also impressed by the medical support she is getting from the GP and I get regular reports if she has any health problems. Sadly she is not willing to join in the activities provided by the home so I can't comment on that, but I believe she is being well looked after in a safe environment which is what I wanted.
It was a very emotional and difficult decision to put my mother, a dementia sufferer into a care home just before her 99th birthday. It felt terrible to have to move her from her own home, but she needed a much more intense level of care than could be provided if she remained there. I cannot recommend Coombe Hill Manor more highly. The staff are so kind, patient, and caring and always available to chat about any concerns we might have. They helped us so much with the actual move, keeping us fully updated on how she was settling. All her needs are met and she is treated with dignity and respect even when her behaviour is challenging. She is settling well and enjoying the many stimulating activities provided. My family and I could not be happier with our choice of home.
A first-class facility. The staff are incredibly helpful and caring. On arriving a month ago, nothing was a problem., making life for us as relatives much easier. The way they have helped my mother join in with activities and the gentle manner of the care is exceptional and my sisters and I are pleased to have moved our mother to this facility as she is safer and better cared for than in her home.
My mum (87 years old) moved into CHM in June 2024 straight from a local hospital after being a patient for a few weeks. This was a shock after being in her home in Kingston for over 50 years. Three members of staff, in particular, were all so helpful about the move at a stressful time, and my mum moved in while I was away, so I was so grateful for their care. 5 months later, Mum is still at CHM and is happy and well cared for. All the staff are so approachable and on-hand, and both Mum and I have great relationships with them all. They are now helping steer Mum into making more friends in CHM, but I love the fact that Mum's apartment feels like an independent warm space rather than feeling as if it is in a medical institution or typical care home. I feel welcome to visit anytime, and I know that her other external friends love visiting too. Those three members of staff continue to be my main contacts, and their care and advice is always appreciated. Reception, nurses, catering, and carers are all brilliant - thank you!
Splendid staff and food.
The team at Coombe Hill are excellent. Really caring and supportive. They understood Mum's needs and provided a great environment for her to rest and recover. We cannot thank them enough. From the activities to the physio care, the excellent food, to the musicians that would come and entertain the residents, these all add towards their daily well-being and happiness. Also, got to thank the nurses and carers, who were tireless in their professionalism. Well done CHM for brilliant team and everything you've done for Mum and our family.
My Mother has been a resident at Coombe Hill Manor for just over 3 months. She moved in following a fall at home and other health issues which signalled that her existing home was no longer fit for purpose. Mum immediately felt safe and secure. The staff are delightful. The food is of a particularly high standard and Mum is at risk of putting on weight. She has had a couple of minor ailments over the last few weeks and I have been impressed by how quickly they have been picked up by the nursing staff and the appropriate medical intervention made. I can relax in the knowledge that Mum is in very capable hands.
My mother went to Coombe Hill Manor about seven years ago, after having a stroke at home. She, my brother and I chose it because it offered her space to be independent and receive visitors, together with the 24/7 on-call care she needed. What we didn't expect was the fantastic technology which allowed us to track her mood and activities when needed - comforting, as my brother and I visited only weekly and our sister lives in Australia. We knew that she would be challenging as she was an independent spirit, but we didn't expect that Coombe would also challenge her to do new things. The best example was a painting class and our mother's discovery, at the age of 88, that she could paint! In the last weeks of her life, it was so comforting to see her being treated with care and respect. Maybe we expected that, but once again, Coombe surprised us, when several of the staff/residents came to her funeral service. They had become her friends. Can't say better than that.
I came to Coombe Hill Manor for short-stay respite care following my hip replacement operation - to get me back on my feet and totally rehabilitated. Due to the incredibly uplifting atmosphere, the wonderful, friendly and professional staff, the beautiful spacious rooms, the delicious food and fantastic gardens - I recovered from my operation very quickly. This care home is extremely well managed and the positive management philosophy filters down through all the staff, to create a welcome, supportive and caring environment.
Our father was incredibly well looked after and cared for by the amazing team at Coombe Hill Manor. It was wonderful to have the peace and tranquility in the beautiful garden not only for my father but also for family. The attention to detail and attending to any needs was amazing. Lovely restaurants and areas to sit have coffee/tea and chat. All the carers are warm friendly and genuinely care for the residents. Which gave us all a sense of peace knowing he was in good hands. It will always hold a special memory of where our lovely dad spent his final days.
I cannot speak highly enough of Coombe Hill. The staff on Auguste looked after my mother so lovingly and with such care. She had such a great quality of life in her three years at CHM. The activities were wonderful and beautifully matched to my mother's interests and hobbies. I would like to thank all of the staff who cared for her with such dedication right until the end of her life. CHM really did feel like home to her and to our family who you all supported too! Thank you.
