View Full Details of Mulberry CourtMy mother was at Mulberry Court Care Home from August 2023 (initially for respite care) until her death in June 2025. Mum's room and ensuite was always clean, well decorated, and bright. The food was always hot and nutritious, and when my mum developed difficulty in swallowing this was catered for too. I felt my Mum's needs were assessed daily and any deterioration in her health was picked up, acted on, and discussed with us promptly. The staff were amazing and treated Mum like their own mother. All the carers were welcoming to me and we were encouraged to join in with the organised activities e.g barbecues, and quiz nights. Mulberry Court is small enough that you knew all the carers and other staff but large enough to have good facilities and varied activities. I believe Mum was happy at Mulberry Court and the staff were always courteous and respectful to her. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mulberry Court to anyone looking for a Care Home for their elderly relatives.
We have been so very happy with Mulberry Court. They have looked after our Mum so well. The staff are very caring and really take the time to talk to and get to know the residents. They also put a lot of effort into organising activities for the residents and events which family members can join too.
My 98-year-old mother has been living at this Care Home since January 2025, after being forced to leave her own home due to serious mobility and health challenges that made it impossible for her to live independently. She initially tried a larger care facility, which did not meet her needs, and then chose this smaller, quieter home for a more personalised environment. As a fiercely independent and strong-willed woman, the transition was not easy. However, thanks to the consistently patient, attentive, and compassionate care provided by the staff, she has gradually become more settled. Despite a few health scares, the standard of care has given both of us peace of mind, and we now feel confident that this is the right permanent home for her. That said, one area that still needs improvement is her ability to get outside more regularly for fresh air and a change of scenery, and I find it frustrating to experience long waits at the entrance due to having to rely on busy carers.
My grandfather passed away at Mulberry Court recently after 3 years and 1 day as a resident. The care given by the staff for my grandfather for those three years when he was a resident was very noticeable to show that he was being looked after very well during that time. The staff were always very accommodating to his family, and it felt very personal due to the size of the place, as there are only 23 bedrooms. The staff were always very helpful and friendly to my grandad and to all the other residents as well. They were always very understanding to what preferences that were individually unique to him. The food that we had when we visited the care home for the evening quizzes and the summer barbecues was always delicious. Room 11 that my grandad stayed in had an en-suite wet room that felt very spacious. We were very fortunate that Mulberry Court was chosen as the care home after he was discharged from hospital and needed extra care. This care home is very highly recommended.
My mother recently died at Mulberry Court after 7 months as a resident. I cannot speak highly enough of the compassion and care my mother received with dignity from the team as her dementia worsened. I and the rest of my family have always felt welcome and my mother was always happy with the care she received. Don't be put off by the very outdated CQC review, this is an excellent care home (we saw 8). My wife had known and visited a previous happy resident. It is small enough to get to know the staff and vice versa. Clean, well-equipped and quiet (except for the entry buzzers!). Good food and varied appropriate activities and entertainments. The team are quick to pick up on health or other issues and has liaised with me and my larger family very quickly and efficiently. Repairs are speedily and competently carried out. One difference we noticed compared to other homes is that costs are 'all in', so there are no unexpected extras for a personal phone line, daily newspapers etc.
My aunt spent 4 years in Mulberry Court and was one of the first residents after the refurbishment. She had almost individual care at the beginning. Staff were always kind, friendly and helpful and were very understanding of her individual needs and preferences.
My friend has lived at Mulberry Court for over two years and is very happy there. She has some of her own furniture, her own telephone line and the food is very good. She likes the garden, her en-suite room and being able to control the heating in her room. Rooms are clean and activities varied as well as menus which are tasty, well the ones I have tried - and special diets are catered for. Some residents can come and go as they please and some with assistance of a carer as the village shops are nearby. If you need that extra care, this is a good place to be.
The Home description states that there are always plenty of things going on to keep you occupied, including pursuing your hobbies, clubs, visiting entertainers, and trips out. The home has strong links to local schools and community groups, bringing different activities into the home and opportunities to interact with local people of all ages. This does not happen.
Mulberry Court feels more like a large family home than a care home. It's bright, airy and beautifully kept. The en-suite bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, and communal areas are nicely furnished and decorated. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The staff are all lovely. They know each of the Mulberry 'family' so well- their likes and dislikes and are kind, thoughtful and caring towards them all. The chefs are brilliant and the meals are varied and tasty. My own Mum has been here for almost 3 years now, and although I would have loved to have kept her at home with me for longer, I have never regretted choosing Mulberry Court. I am free to visit at any time and always feel welcomed from the moment I step into this home from home. The staff are always alert to any potential problems and quick to get medical advice about any illness or worry. The local GP practice sends a clinician to do a 'ward round' each week. The district nurses who visit my Mum are full of praise ( as I am) for the care she receives at Mulberry Court.
My mum spent one-week respite care at Mulberry Court in September 2024 so that I could go on holiday. It was easy to organise and Mum was able to visit before her stay so she knew exactly where she was staying. It was reassuring to know that she was being well looked after whilst I was away and Mum really enjoyed her stay and is already talking about going back next year when I go on holiday again.
I am happy here.
My mother has been a resident at Mulberry Court for just over 3 years and I can't fault the care she has received in any way. It's a small, intimate home and the facilities and ambience are like home from home. My mother is treated with dignity and respect and the carers are friendly, welcoming and discreet. My mother enjoys taking part in the activities organised by the carers or activities coordinator, particularly when they involve crafts. All the residents have mental capacity, so they enjoy socialising with each other and making new friends. My mother says the food is delicious and the residents are given a choice at each meal. She has just turned 100 years old, and I'm sure my mother has reached this grand age in such good health as she's so well cared for at Mulberry Court.
I stayed at Mulberry Court from Mar.25th to May.13th. During my stay, I was treated with kindness and respect by everyone, staff and residents alike. The food was very good and catered for my needs. I also managed to put on weight which helped me regain my strength. The care home looked after all the medication I needed, and the doctor visited every couple of weeks. I am sure that the whole experience aided my recovery enormously. I met some new and some old friends at Mulberry Court and plan to visit again to catch up with everyone very soon. The only thing I could possibly complain about was the front door entry system. It took a very long time to be answered, I would suggest some sort of keypad for the door rather than something connected to the alarm system.
I appreciated my two weeks in Mulberry Court and really enjoyed it. The building is very good, spacious and safe. There was instant warm water in the bathroom. I slept very well in the quiet warm bedroom. All staff were very welcoming and the dining room/lounge enabled social interaction. The residents were friendly. The food was excellent and I had three full meals a day. The carers were very helpful, I had all the care I needed. The entertainments and activities were fun and uniting. At first, I had problems with my room but they were cleared up. Overall, It was a good time and I would come again. Thank you to all staff and carers.
My father moved into Mulberry Court a couple of months ago. Prior to moving him, my sister and I viewed a number of residential homes in the area, but both felt Mulberry Court was right for Dad. I am pleased to say we have not been disappointed and Dad is extremely happy in his new environment. All the staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble.
Cannot fault anything about this home, staff etc.
My father stayed here for respite between hospital and home. However, after 4 weeks he was so happy and settled here that he decided to stay and is now a permanent resident. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming to both him and his visitors. It is a relatively small home and as such feels very homely. The food is excellent and varied and he has subsequently regained his appetite.
We have always had a fear of care homes and never wanted to use one but, unfortunately, we had no choice. This care home has changed my mind. Lovely, lovely people so kind and caring my mum is happy here.
I was the first and only resident for some time, so had the full attention of all staff - very attentive, always kind and understanding. Shortage of staff now means one has to wait longer for, say a coffee, but if I was to ring my bell, it would be answered quickly.
My mother spent two weeks at Mulberry Court for respite care in October 2021. I was extremely happy with the care she received. All the staff were wonderful with her. Her room was spacious and all the public areas are fresh and bright. The food was delicious and plentiful. I would definitely recommend Mulberry Court.
