View Full Details of Acorn House Care HomeMy mother-in-law was fortunate enough to be a resident at Acorn House for 2 years after her dementia prevented her from living unassisted. She was very well cared for by the wonderful staff who developed a bond of love with both her and all her family. The kindness that they displayed will be forever remembered by us all. The dignity that she was offered at the end of her life will always be appreciated by us all. Thank you.
I find Acorn House very nice and friendly. My sister loves it there. They are all so nice to get on with and to talk to.
Mum has settled into Acorn House very well. This is a credit to the staff at Acorn, making mum feel welcome and safe. The activities are amazing and very innovative. The culture is very friendly, and I can only say I would have no hesitation in recommending Acorn House for a place for a loved one to live. Thank you, Martin and the whole staff at Acorn. Kudos to the whole team.
Caring for my Mum recently has become quite challenging. I only have praise for the support and advice from all floor staff, particularly the floor manager and reception. Everyone has shown kindness and understanding to Mum and responded to my concerns with similar understanding and a sprinkling of much-needed humour! Staff are always professional, available to discuss difficult issues and work with us to find positive solutions.
This care home is amazing for many reasons, the staff are amazing at what they do for the service users; the cleanliness of the care home is immaculate, the reception staff are welcoming and lovely, my nana loves it here it's amazing. 10/10
The staff go above and beyond for my grandmother's needs. The areas are clean and tidy and very well maintained. I have eaten at the residence and the food is wonderful. The activities are fantastic. So much to do and the staff really get the residents involved and cater to everyone's distinct and separate needs. The reception staff are extremely helpful. Overall there's no other place I'd want my grandma
My first impression on arrival with my sister for respite was, very professional, welcoming, caring, friendly and respectful. Clean, bright and safe. I felt very confident to leave her in such capable hand & she seemed very happy to stay.
Lovely home, lots of great things to do. Happy staff, great location. Very caring and quick to service. The food seems lovely and it's a very relaxed and good vibe there. My grandma seems very happy.
My mother-in-law moved to Acorn House from another care home 3 weeks ago. The Management and staff went above and beyond to make the transition as smooth as possible for all of us. She has settle quicker than we anticipated due to the welcoming nature of all staff, their care, support and attention to her individual needs. She has coeliac disease and requires a gluten free diet, although they have no other residents with this dietary requirement they have gone above and beyond to accommodate this and her individual tastes.
I am so grateful for the care and compassion shown to my father, since he moved into Acorn House. The level of care he receives is incredible and the staff are so caring and understanding. They always keep us informed of his well-being and give me peace of mind when I can't visit.
My sister was diagnosed with dementia a few years ago, and despite this, she was able to life in her own property until the dementia became more difficult to handle. After a period with carers visiting twice daily, it was decided that a suitable Care Home should be sought. Having been born in Nottingham, and spending most of her life in the city, we decided to look for somewhere local to her. Thankfully, we were recommended to pay a visit to Acorn House, and after tour by welcoming staff, we put Acorn at the top of our list. We visited a few other Homes, although non came anywhere near to offering the care and facilities that Acorn did, so we began arrangements for her to move in. Initially, she was offered a room on the floor that accommodated the more serious cases of dementia, which she found difficult. Very soon though, Acorn offered her a room on another floor where she quickly made friends, and became more settled. Thank you Acorn, you guys are great.
I just wanted to say how amazing you all are. My Dad moved into Acorn House about a year and a half ago and you have worked so hard to make it feel like home, as you do for all of the residents. You are all so welcoming; from the reception, cleaning and catering staff to the carers and managers. The unsung heroes are always the night staff who I rarely get to meet but keep my dad safe at night and of course the maintenance man! Dad isn't that keen on joining in with the many varied activities that you provide but you always do your best to include him. Communication is key to any successful organisation and your approach to this is second to none! It's never an easy decision to move a loved one into a care home but it has given me and my dad a chance to be Dad and daughter again and not carer and patient and I will forever appreciate this! You are all winners to me! With love and appreciation.
Excellent staff. Very caring. I am very satisfied with the care my partner has received. I am grateful for all Acorn House does for him. Staff are very patient and go out of their way to help look for mislaid objects.
Acorn House has exceeded my expectations in every area. The food, activities and care are fantastic and all the residents seem very well cared for and happy every time I visit. I couldn't wish for a better home for my sister.
Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and helpful at Acorn House. From the initial enquiry, we felt comfortable and welcomed. It's a pleasure seeing my brother make new friends and be well cared for. We certainly made the right choice for him.
My Uncle is in the best possible place for him. He is happy and comfortable in his new home, which he settled into really quickly. I can't thank the staff enough. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone.
Fantastic care at all times, so grateful to all of the staff. They are brilliant and go above and beyond for my Nan. I wouldn't want her to be in any other care home besides Acorn House. I would recommend it to anyone who was looking for their loved ones to stay. Thank you to the team.
My grandmother is a resident at Acorn House. I feel safe in the knowledge knowing she is well provided for and safe to live out her twilight years. The staff are lovely and very helpful. A wonderful home.
I have found that the residential care of my parents has been exceptional and the care by the staff and management has beaten my expectations.
After an accident at home and being hospitalised my brother was admitted to Acorn House where he has been for almost three years. He settled in well due to the staff being so caring and friendly. There are plenty of activities, days out, and entertainers in the home. The home is always spotlessly clean which makes it very welcoming for visitors. I would highly recommend this care home.
