View Full Details of Sunnybank House Care HomeThe team worked promptly, efficiently & effectively, without causing an additional burden to the family, to get mum moved from hospital out of county. This was very much valued. On arrival mum has been integrated into the regular activities & is already feeling more settled than on arrival.
I've been visiting Sunnybank House more frequently over the past six months since relocating back to the UK from Dubai-and I'm more impressed today than I have been (and I was never unimpressed!). On my most recent visit, I met General Manager. Warning: he clearly works out! Jokes aside, that says something about his character-driven and committed. He even shared with me that he started in the industry over 25 years ago, doing every role from washing pots to management. His professionalism and passion truly comes across. There's a real sense of warmth and consistency about the place. Staff seem genuinely engaged, happy, and most importantly committed to resident care. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the home is clearly run with pride, passion and compassion. A huge credit to the team-and a real comfort to me as they continue to look after my mother. Nothing else to add other than from myself to the team: THANK YOU!
Although we were away on holiday, and Mum was a bit reluctant to join in the VE Day activities- I could see from the Planner all the hard work that everyone, and I mean everyone, put into making VE Day a success. The residents are the generation that truly were there, and I'm sure that you all helped to jog memories of that time. The displays around SunnyBank were amazing. Thank you all for being such a caring place to be.
As you will see form the boxes I've filled in I simply cannot find fault with any aspect of Sunnybank House. I came so my wife could take a well earnt rest but I also feel as if I have had a holiday too. The staff have been simply wonderful, the grounds relaxing, the activities numerous ad the food exceptional both in choice and quality. Most importantly I felt very safe in their care.
Mum came into Sunnybank for two weeks respite at last mum as was let down by another home. She was immediately made very welcome by all the staff. I was a little apprehensive about leaving her but she settled in well and was very happy when I collected her and by the time she came in she was joining in with the activities. Very happy indeed.
Visited a few care homes in the area to find somewhere suitable for my mother. Sunny Bank was far and away the best. You can see that the staff really care about the residents and want them to be happy. The facilities are great and the garden is wonderful. The food is good and Mum is really enjoying the meals. There is always cake.
Outstanding value for money. Sunnybank cannot be praised enough for the kind compassionate care that they provide to my sister in law. As they say you get what you pay for and Sunnybank are worth every penny. The staff are always on hand to help and ensure that her needs are met. They all take the time to know her personally which cannot be said for other homes. The rooms and the communal areas are kept spotlessly clean. Food is of a high standard and the menu is kept varied and interesting. It was as everyone finds a very difficult decision to place a loved one in a care home but our decision has been vindicated with the quality of care that Sunnybank provides.
My mother received medical care that was above and beyond what I could have hoped for during a 2 week respite stay. The staff were unfailingly helpful and patient. If my mum can not live at home, there is nowhere else I'd prefer her to be.
My husband has dementia and we go to two meetings a week at Sunnybank House Care Home, on a Monday is coffee and cake, sometimes there is entertainment or we have quizzes or play games, which help a lot with memory. On the Wednesday it is a Ladds and Lattee morning. Where games are played and they talk to help recall their memories. Their partner goes in a different room for coffee, where we can have a good talk about what's going on and help if any is needed. It is very good all round.
My mother came into Sunnybank House Care Home after 9 weeks in hospital. It's the most wonderful place. Every member of staff has made my mother feel very welcome. Not only my mother but all her family were welcomed as well. All her care needs are being met, nothing is too much trouble. I cannot praise Sunnybank enough for everything they do.
My mum was previously in another care home as Sunnybank was full when she was discharged from hospital. 3 months later, we moved her to Sunnybank and she settled immediately. The staff are always amazing, courteous, kind, always treating her with the utmost respect and dignity. She has previously enjoyed the entertainment and activities such a great variety. The only reason I can't put excellent for value for money is that care home fees in general are extortionate. Sunnybank is in line with others but all are so overpriced.
I was recommended to this comfortable, large luxury establishment, which looks at feels more like a hotel than a care home. I have been very well looked after. It has given me peace of mind to know that help and support is available when it is needed. All the staff I have come into contact with are very helpful and cheerful and I have made friends with some of the residents. I have certainly benefitted from my stay here and I feel I will be able to cope with daily life when when I get back home. The food was poor but has improved since the chef stepped down and a new one being sought, so it should improve more.
The care that my mother-in-law has received at Sunnybank House Care Home over the last 7 1/2 years has been nothing less than exceptional. She originally went in for respite care but it quickly became apparent that Sunnybank would become her permanent home, as a family this was a tough decision to make but made so much easier knowing she wouldn't get better care anywhere else. The home is spotlessly clean, smells lovely and the food is excellent. Without exception, every single member of staff are friendly, welcoming, approachable and it's clear to all that they genuinely care about the residents and their families. My mother-in-law has recently passed away and the care we have received as a family has been wonderful. The night she passed away the team on duty treated her and us with the utmost dignity, respect and care. We feel truly blessed to have had the Sunnybank team looking after her and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
I would highly recommend Sunnybank House Care Home. From the moment I made contact, I was guided through the process and given all the information I needed. Every carer has been superb, my aunt settled immediately and has been so happy. The attention, care and surrounding are spot on. The rooms are spacious and decorated beautifully. There are many interesting activities for the residents and we could not find any faults here.
We visit regularly to see my sister and am thrilled to see how happy she is and well looked after. There is always so much for her to join in with and we are also made to feel so very welcome. Her room is ideal, very clean and the meals sound wonderful. All the staff work very hard and when I see any of the managers, they are always very friendly. I'm very happy we chose here.
We have been very impressed by the level of care given to our mum since her arrival. We can now relax knowing she is safe and well looked after. The team are all so welcoming and friendly and go out of their way to make mum feel at home.
Mum's care is excellent. The staff could not be kinder, more helpful, or more attentive. And it shows that although she suffers from full-blown dementia, and when she was at her home she was very anxious, now she is settled and content. This is the best place for Mum. She loves it here.
Very happy with the excellent services provided by the home. The staff from reception to housekeeping are so friendly, approachable, and eager to help. Mum also says the food is good! Every effort is made to provide Mum with a gluten-free menu. We are so happy that we chose Sunnybank.
My brother and I looked at 3 care homes almost a year ago, prior to choosing Sunnybank, and were uncertain between 2 of them. In the end, it was the homely feel of Sunnybank that won us over then knew we'd made the right decision when taking our Mum for a look around. Her first impressions showed her face light up then the more she saw, heard, and experienced made her want to stay. She still feels she won the care home lottery. We do too. Just everything is better than we ever hoped for. The ambience, staff, care, meals, and wide range of activities while not forgetting the helpful maintenance chap. All seem to go above and beyond. What impresses me personally is that all the staff always ask after me too. It's Care with a capital C throughout.
We visit Sunnybank as my husband has been diagnosed with dementia. Having been advised by others in a similar position we have been attending for around five months taking part in the activities provided. The activities organizer is brilliant and twice a week we attend to partake in a range of things which a whole group enjoys.
