Having resided here for over 3 years, I have found this home superb in every way with kindness, understanding and warmth. The staff and the amenities are excellent and worthy of mentioning in high places. A particular note of the warmth and kindness of the carers. Many of them cannot do more to improve the smooth running and welcome here. It is of a very high standard and I would always recommend it. I came here to be with my wife who had dementia who unfortunately is no longer here. I am happy to spend the rest of my life here with feelings of thankfulness, residing in the best.
Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt and meaningful review. We are truly honoured by your words and deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in us over the past three years.
It means so much to hear that you have found Sunnybank to be a place of kindness, warmth, and understanding. Our...
Mum had 2 weeks respite over the Christmas period. From the moment we dropped her off to the moment we collected her, the care she received was second to none. All the staff are exceptional and the activities they arrange for the residents are amazing. Mum had a wonderful time and we would be happy for her to return to Sunnybank. Thank you Sunnybank for giving Mum a lovely time.
Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. We're absolutely delighted to hear that your mum had such a positive experience with us over the Christmas period.
It means a great deal to our entire team to know that the care, support, and activities we provide made her stay both...
My father was a resident for 14 months prior to his passing. From the moment he arrived until the day he departed the care and attention he received from every member of staff was exceptional. Likewise the way in which the family was treated could not be faulted I would recommend Sunnybank House to anyone unreservedly.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your kind words. It means a great deal to everyone at Sunnybank House to know that your father was cared for with the compassion, dignity, and respect he deserved throughout his time with us.

Mum is a new arrival at Sunnybank. The warm welcome, connection to managing her health issues, level of comfort within the home itself, combined with the wonderful choice of food has all been well above expectations.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we are thrilled to see how well your mum has settled. It is an honour to be a part of her life and thank you for your trust with us.
My nan has been a resident at Sunnybank House since the spring and she's so happy. The staff are all extremely helpful and my nan feels supported and safe. Its like a beautiful hotel when you walk in. They have gone out of their way for my nan, its the little extras like a setting a zoom video up to watch my sister's wedding in Cyprus or letting us use the function room for special family moments. Highly recommend for your loved ones.
Thank you so much for your heartfelt review We're absolutely delighted to hear how happy your nan is at Sunnybank House-it means the world to us. Creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel truly supported and safe is at the heart of everything we do, so knowing that your nan feels...
The team worked promptly, efficiently & effectively, without causing an additional burden to the family, to get mum moved from hospital out of county. This was very much valued. On arrival mum has been integrated into the regular activities & is already feeling more settled than on arrival.
Thank you for your kind words. We are truly glad to hear that the transition for your mum went smoothly and that she is already feeling settled and engaged with the wide activities we have here. We will continue doing all we can to ensure she always feels comfortable, cared for and at home.
On my most recent visit, I met General Manager. Warning: he clearly works out! Jokes aside, that says something about his character-driven and committed. He even shared with me that he started in the industry over 25 years ago, doing every role from washing pots to management. His professionalism and passion truly comes across.
There's a real sense of warmth and consistency about the place. Staff seem genuinely engaged, happy, and most importantly committed to resident care. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and the home is clearly run with pride, passion and compassion.
A huge credit to the team-and a real comfort to me as they continue to look after my mother. Nothing else to add other than from myself to the team:
THANK YOU!

As you will see form the boxes I've filled in I simply cannot find fault with any aspect of Sunnybank House. I came so my wife could take a well earnt rest but I also feel as if I have had a holiday too. The staff have been simply wonderful, the grounds relaxing, the activities numerous ad the food exceptional both in choice and quality. Most importantly I felt very safe in their care.
Thank you so much for your kind words & we are delighted to know you had such a positive experience and that you felt like you had a holiday yourself. Ensuring both you and your wife fell comfortable and cared for is at the heart of all we do. It's wonderful to know that our team, facilities,...
Mum came into Sunnybank for two weeks respite at last mum as was let down by another home. She was immediately made very welcome by all the staff. I was a little apprehensive about leaving her but she settled in well and was very happy when I collected her and by the time she came in she was joining in with the activities. Very happy indeed.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We understand how important it is for families to feel confident when choosing care for their loved ones, and we're delighted that your mum felt welcome and settled in so quickly. It's wonderful to hear that she enjoyed the activities during her stay-that...
Visited a few care homes in the area to find somewhere suitable for my mother. Sunny Bank was far and away the best. You can see that the staff really care about the residents and want them to be happy. The facilities are great and the garden is wonderful. The food is good and Mum is really enjoying the meals. There is always cake.
Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience. We are delighted to hear that your mother is settling in well and enjoying her time at Sunnybank House. Our team takes great pride in creating a welcoming, caring environment where residents feel truly at...
Outstanding value for money. Sunnybank cannot be praised enough for the kind compassionate care that they provide to my sister in law. As they say you get what you pay for and Sunnybank are worth every penny. The staff are always on hand to help and ensure that her needs are met. They all take the time to know her personally which cannot be said for other homes. The rooms and the communal areas are kept spotlessly clean. Food is of a high standard and the menu is kept varied and interesting. It was as everyone finds a very difficult decision to place a loved one in a care home but our decision has been vindicated with the quality of care that Sunnybank provides.
Thank you so much for your kind and heartfelt review. We are truly honoured to have earned your trust and to be a part of your sister-in-law's care journey. At Sunnybank, our mission is to provide not just care, but a home where every resident feels valued, understood, and well supported. It means...
My mother received medical care that was above and beyond what I could have hoped for during a 2 week respite stay. The staff were unfailingly helpful and patient. If my mum can not live at home, there is nowhere else I'd prefer her to be.
Thank you so much for taking the time to right this review. We are always so pleased to know we have provided care that goes beyond families expectations and we will continue to do so. Thank you again.
My husband has dementia and we go to two meetings a week at Sunnybank House Care Home, on a Monday is coffee and cake, sometimes there is entertainment or we have quizzes or play games, which help a lot with memory. On the Wednesday it is a Ladds and Lattee morning. Where games are played and they talk to help recall their memories. Their partner goes in a different room for coffee, where we can have a good talk about what's going on and help if any is needed. It is very good all round.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience at Sunnybank House Care Home. It's heartening to hear about the wonderful activities and support they provide for both individuals living with dementia and their partners. The Monday sessions with coffee, cake, entertainment, quizzes, and games sound...
My mother came into Sunnybank House Care Home after 9 weeks in hospital. It's the most wonderful place. Every member of staff has made my mother feel very welcome. Not only my mother but all her family were welcomed as well. All her care needs are being met, nothing is too much trouble. I cannot praise Sunnybank enough for everything they do.
Thank you for sharing your experience with Sunnybank House Care Home. It's wonderful to hear that your mother received such a warm welcome after her time in the hospital. The dedication and care shown by every member of the staff towards your mother and your entire family are truly commendable....
My mum was previously in another care home as Sunnybank was full when she was discharged from hospital. 3 months later, we moved her to Sunnybank and she settled immediately. The staff are always amazing, courteous, kind, always treating her with the utmost respect and dignity. She has previously enjoyed the entertainment and activities such a great variety. The only reason I can't put excellent for value for money is that care home fees in general are extortionate. Sunnybank is in line with others but all are so overpriced.
Your review radiates such warmth, and genuine appreciation and is truly heartwarming. It's lovely to hear that the time spent at Sunnybank House was marked with the dignity and respect every resident deserves. An inclusive activity plan indeed plays a significant role in ensuring all residents feel...
I was recommended to this comfortable, large luxury establishment, which looks at feels more like a hotel than a care home. I have been very well looked after. It has given me peace of mind to know that help and support is available when it is needed. All the staff I have come into contact with are very helpful and cheerful and I have made friends with some of the residents. I have certainly benefitted from my stay here and I feel I will be able to cope with daily life when when I get back home. The food was poor but has improved since the chef stepped down and a new one being sought, so it should improve more.
Thank you for your feedback and we are delighted to say how much we have improved our dining experience and quality of food. The new processes we have put in place are definitely working. We look forward to seeing you again as and when you may contact us.
Without exception, every single member of staff are friendly, welcoming, approachable and it's clear to all that they genuinely care about the residents and their families.
My mother-in-law has recently passed away and the care we have received as a family has been wonderful. The night she passed away the team on duty treated her and us with the utmost dignity, respect and care.
We feel truly blessed to have had the Sunnybank team looking after her and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank you so much for writing your review. We really do appreciate it and we are so pleased to hear how fondly you think of the team and your time with us. It was an honour for us to care for your mother-in-law.
I would highly recommend Sunnybank House Care Home. From the moment I made contact, I was guided through the process and given all the information I needed. Every carer has been superb, my aunt settled immediately and has been so happy. The attention, care and surrounding are spot on. The rooms are spacious and decorated beautifully. There are many interesting activities for the residents and we could not find any faults here.
We are so pleased to hear of your recommendation of Sunnybank House and delighted to know how happy and satisfied you are with the care and daily activities etc we offer. Thank you for your time to write a review.
We visit regularly to see my sister and am thrilled to see how happy she is and well looked after. There is always so much for her to join in with and we are also made to feel so very welcome. Her room is ideal, very clean and the meals sound wonderful. All the staff work very hard and when I see any of the managers, they are always very friendly. I'm very happy we chose here.
Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review for us, we are very grateful. We are delighted to hear you find your visits so welcoming and that choosing Sunnybank House was the perfect choice for all the family.

Meet the Team (5)

As General Manager of Sunnybank House, it’s my absolute pleasure to welcome you to our home. I work closely with every department to ensure we deliver an exceptional experience for all our residents, rooted in kindness, quality, and a shared commitment to excellence.
You’ll often find me out and about in the home, engaging with residents, listening to their feedback, and collaborating on new ideas that help us continue to grow and improve. I’m also deeply passionate about team development, working side by side with my Sunnybank colleagues to ensure they feel empowered, supported, and inspired to provide the best possible care.
My Experience:My journey in care began at age 15, washing dishes in my local nursing home—and I’ve never looked back. That early experience sparked a lasting passion for supporting others and set me on a path of learning and leadership.
Since then, I’ve embraced every opportunity to grow, working in every role within the home—including the occasional stint in the kitchen! I’ve held leadership positions in both small and large organisations at home, regional, and operational levels. But my heart belongs to home management, where I can be part of residents’ lives and see the impact of meaningful care each and every day.
About Me:When I’m not at work, you’ll find me staying active at the gym, unwinding at the cinema, or enjoying peaceful hours by the water with a fishing rod in hand.

My Role: I joined Cinnamon in September 2022 and proudly serve as Deputy Manager at Sunnybank House. In this role, I support the smooth day-to-day running of the home, making sure the needs, wishes, and preferences of both residents and their families are always heard and respected.
My Experience: With a strong background in dementia care, I’ve completed extensive training in supporting individuals living with dementia. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care and am currently working toward my Level 5. I’m passionate about helping team members grow and thrive, and I take great satisfaction in coaching and supporting staff to reach their full potential.
About Me: Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my family, catching up with friends, and simply unwinding in good company.

As the home admissions advisor at Sunnybank, I’m here to support and advise potential residents and their loved ones through this important decision. I guide people through the admissions journey at a pace that feels comfortable, answering questions and helping everyone feel confident and supported. I work closely with the team to make each transition into Sunnybank House as smooth and personal as possible.
My experienceWith over 10 years’ experience in the wedding industry, I’ve enjoyed supporting people through some of life’s most emotional, exciting, and occasionally unpredictable moments with a friendly smile and the belief that a little kindness goes a very long way. I enjoy helping people feel at ease, understanding their choices clearly, and feeling confident in the decisions ahead.
About meI’m married with three teenagers, which means I’m highly trained in diplomacy, patience, and mastering the art of being heard over headphones. When I’m not helping families settle into Sunnybank House, you’ll usually find me enjoying live music or at home indulging in my love of wine and cheese!

What I Do
I’m the Lead Wellbeing and Lifestyle Coordinator here at Sunnybank House. I work closely with my team to provide our residents with a varied and exciting diary of activities, week after week. We encourage residents to continue with lifelong interests and hobbies, whilst creating and embracing new experiences and learning.
I believe life is for living, nurturing new friendships and making memories, all of which we encourage at Sunnybank.
My Experience
My journey at Sunnybank House started as a volunteer. The experience I gained during that time was invaluable and made me well placed for undertaking my current role. My past career path had been in Hospitality and Catering, providing me with many transferable skills and a love of working as part of a team.
About Me
I’m married with four grown-up children and a much-loved Labrador. In my spare time, I enjoy nothing more than a good book and a large cup of coffee or a walk with family in the beautiful Hampshire countryside… life’s simple pleasures.

I'm thrilled to be a member of the team at Sunnybank House, where I lead a dedicated kitchen team passionate about delivering a delicious and nutritious dining experience for our residents. We take great pride in using fresh, seasonal ingredients and work closely with trusted suppliers to make this possible.
My Experience:With over 45 years in hospitality and catering, my background spans fine dining, sports and historic venues, pub management, and the care sector. I spent two decades as Catering and Hospitality Manager at Salisbury Cathedral, where I had the privilege of catering for Their Majesties Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III, among many others.
About me:A true Sussex native, I enjoy relaxing holidays, tackling DIY projects, getting my hands dirty in the garden, and cheering on the mighty Brighton & Hove Albion. I've been happily married to Ellen for 36 years; together we share two grown-up children, two very grown-up stepchildren, and our loyal black lab, Harvey.
