Thank you for kind comments Sara. Your stepmother is a lovely lady, always with a smile and a kind word, we are lucky to have her here.
Thank you so much for sending in your review. It has been a pleasure to have your parents here at Sunnybank, you have been a big part of the Sunnybank family for some time. We certainly take your point in respect of agency staff, however, this has been unavoidable in recent months. I can tell you that we have an extensive recruitment drive underway, with the key objective, of only using agency in extreme/unavoidable circumstances. This is obviously imperative to our residents, improving their quality and continuity of care.

Hello Ken,
I know I have thanked you for this very valuable review Ken, but just wanted to say it's been a pleasure getting to know not only Grace, but also becoming close to you too. Always good to have a friendly face around.
The daily activities include crafts such as making cards, painting, cooking and physical activities, such as simple ball games etc. which can cause much merriment. Of course, these activities are purely voluntary. Regular visits by a variety of entertainers are arranged and there are attractive grounds for occasional garden parties.
I would highly recommend this care home to others.

What I Do:
As General Manager of Sunnybank House, it’s my absolute pleasure to welcome you to our home. I work closely with every department to ensure we deliver an exceptional experience for all our residents, rooted in kindness, quality, and a shared commitment to excellence.
You’ll often find me out and about in the home, engaging with residents, listening to their feedback, and collaborating on new ideas that help us continue to grow and improve. I’m also deeply passionate about team development, working side by side with my Sunnybank colleagues to ensure they feel empowered, supported, and inspired to provide the best possible care.
My Experience:
My journey in care began at age 15, washing dishes in my local nursing home—and I’ve never looked back. That early experience sparked a lasting passion for supporting others and set me on a path of learning and leadership.
Since then, I’ve embraced every opportunity to grow, working in every role within the home—including the occasional stint in the kitchen! I’ve held leadership positions in both small and large organisations at home, regional, and operational levels. But my heart belongs to home management, where I can be part of residents’ lives and see the impact of meaningful care each and every day.
About Me:
When I’m not at work, you’ll find me staying active at the gym, unwinding at the cinema, or enjoying peaceful hours by the water with a fishing rod in hand.
What I Do:
I support individuals and families during times of change, helping them navigate important decisions with clarity and compassion. Whether it's exploring care options or offering guidance through the process, I’m here to answer questions and ease any concerns, ensuring each step forward feels informed and supported. Showing people around Sunnybank House and all it has to offer is a joy and a great way to start.
My Experience:
With over 30 years in the care sector, I’ve held roles ranging from carer and senior carer to team leader and management. I’ve worked across Social Services, charities, and private healthcare, always driven by a passion for helping others. I also bring a strong background in fitness and rehabilitation, which continues to inspire my approach to holistic care.
About Me:
Outside of work, I stay active and grounded by keeping up my fitness, taking long walks with my dog, and enjoying precious time with my grandchildren. I especially love weekend escapes in our caravan with my husband—nothing beats that sense of peace and recharge in the countryside.
My Role: I joined Cinnamon in September 2022 and proudly serve as Deputy Manager at Sunnybank House. In this role, I support the smooth day-to-day running of the home, making sure the needs, wishes, and preferences of both residents and their families are always heard and respected.
My Experience: With a strong background in dementia care, I’ve completed extensive training in supporting individuals living with dementia. I hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care and am currently working toward my Level 5. I’m passionate about helping team members grow and thrive, and I take great satisfaction in coaching and supporting staff to reach their full potential.
About Me: Outside of work, I love spending quality time with my family, catching up with friends, and simply unwinding in good company.
My Role I joined Cinnamon in December 2022 as one of the Activity Coordinators at Sunnybank House, where I’ve had the joy of working alongside a dedicated team to provide a wide range of engaging activities for our residents. Since 1st May 2023, I’ve proudly stepped into the role of Senior Wellbeing Lead, with a focus on developing new activity ideas, strengthening intergenerational connections, and welcoming volunteers to support and enrich our growing programme.
My Experience My career began in stroke rehabilitation, where I spent 14 years throughout the late ’80s and ’90s before transitioning into community care. I bring valuable experience as an events coordinator, which complements my current role beautifully. Over the years, I’ve also worked closely with people living with dementia and have completed training tailored to providing meaningful support in this area. Drawing on all these experiences, I’m passionate about creating moments that matter for our residents and their families.
