Most importantly, the residents are treated not just as older people but as the diverse, fascinating individuals they are. The respect and dignity afforded to the lucky, happy band of residents is lovely to see and we already feel like part of an extended family.
Nothing is too much trouble. Communication with us has been caring and thoughtful. We are delighted by the way that such a positive step was possible despite the extra challenges presented by the pandemic.

We pride ourselves on the consistently high level of personal care provided at Sunnybank House. I am sorry your experience was not to the standard you expected. I apologise for the lack of a shower for the first three days and am reassured to see from our records that we made regular offers of showers and personal care to your mother throughout the remainder of your mum’s stay.
I apologise if the night staff were a little too loud on one night of your mother’s stay. We have reminded the night team members to restrict themselves to private areas for any potentially intrusive team member small talk as I am sure being woken unnecessarily by any means is upsetting and we acknowledge is entirely unacceptable.
If you would like to contact us about the “day-to-day goings on” that you found slightly worrying, then please do pop in to discuss this. We value all feedback and are committed to continually improving the service that we provide to our residents at Sunnybank House and in all of our Cinnamon Care Homes.

Since 1st May 2023, I’ve proudly stepped into the role of Senior Wellbeing Lead, with a focus on developing new activity ideas, strengthening intergenerational connections, and welcoming volunteers to support and enrich our growing programme.
My Experience My career began in stroke rehabilitation, where I spent 14 years throughout the late ’80s and ’90s before transitioning into community care. I bring valuable experience as an events coordinator, which complements my current role beautifully. Over the years, I’ve also worked closely with people living with dementia and have completed training tailored to providing meaningful support in this area. Drawing on all these experiences, I’m passionate about creating moments that matter for our residents and their families.
About Me Born and raised in Hampshire, I now call Fair Oak home. My partner and I have been together for 19 years, and we both love walking, gardening, and soaking up peaceful countryside escapes. It’s these simple pleasures that help keep me grounded and inspired in the work I do.
